Oh Jacob, you go from nice guy with opinions to complete muppet in a heartbeat - I hated his writing. Part of his character were fantastic, but if you dare to talk to him just once too often he gets grumpy "Already Shepard? I'm not good with pushing this" - after that I never spoke to him much again - ok I get the picture, purely professional! aside from the whole mydadismissingandIneedyoutofindhimandhiscult stuff, naturally.

So I never bothered, and I think I was right not to bother, which is a shame. There was potential, but I think it was handled badly. Because, if it were down to just looks, you know, there were some endearing aspects there... but no, Kaidan and all the heartbreak was totally worth it. Aside from the Shep who never romanced him and went with Garrus. And the broshep who went from Liara to Kelly to Tali

I Like Thane and Garrus, Thane's romance was...tragic and Gauris romance was sweet.
But Jacob's..... his romance had me truning off the sound. for both FemShep' s "I'm DESPERATE" voice and Jacob's Porno lines... the whole thing put me off.... I ended up dealting his PT ..

I'll admit that I totally tried to romance Jacob before I found out that Garrus was romanceable.  Then...LOL SORRY JACOB! Then he called Garrus a cuttlebone and I decided never to speak to him again. 

Thane's romance is pretty tragic but he's got a really hot VA so...totally worth it.

Not snipping the picturebecause....well....I don't think there's any explanation needed.    And it took me an embarassingly long time to realize that you should always send one of the weaker squaddies with your crew.  I usually send Kasumi.

Oh gawd.  In the Thane/Kaidan/femShep triangle, at Huerta Memorial when you first see Thane again, he says he's spoken to Kaidan (as he says in unromanced dialogue as well), but then says:

Thane: "We have spoken.  He was holding out hope that a woman would visit him... is there something I should know about you two?"

And if you choose the "we're [Shep/Kaidan] still intimate" option, this is the dialogue:

Shep: "We were together for some time before I met you.  I still want to make things work.  Can you understand that?"  (I hate the wording for that "can you understand that", but Jennifer's tone makes it not so hurtful-sounding.)

Thane: "...Oh."  [cue heartbreaking] "...Well, if he means something to you, then he will to me.  He has my protection as long as he is here." [cue mind possibly changing because THIS MAN DRELL MAN]  "I can offer no more and no less.  It was good while it lasted, Shepard." [WAIT, what about "Siha"!?! *heartbreaks*]

GDI, this is turning into a Thane thread post (which I haven't done yet).  Probably the best break-up scene in the game, as far as feels go.  So thank you, Thane (and Chris Hepler), for making me so sad for loving Kaidan more at this moment. *goes to cry in a corner*

Major OUCH. I was actually about to ask for a Thane confirmation of Kaidan romance. Does he acknowledge the Kaidan romance with a faithful Shep (does his lines about Kaidan change for a romanced faithful and unromanced Shep?). 

For a faithful Kaidan (which is my usual playthrough), this is the dialogue:

Thane:  [skipping a bit, brother] "What are you doing here?"
Shep:  "Visiting a friend, Kaidan.  He got hurt protecting me."
Thane: "The human biotic in intensive care. *KepralSyndromeCoughs* I saw the marks of an implant."
Shep: "Yeah."
Thane: "We have spoken.  He seems an honorable sort.  Your enemies may try to finish him off here.  I will look out for him."
Shep: "I appreciate it, Thane."
Thane: "...I am near the end of my life.  It is a good time to be generous."  (And then the dialogue continues as per the wheel.)

From my inferences as to other bits of dialogue, Thane says this because he loves her (taken from ME2 break-up dialogue where Thane says, "I hope you won't mind when I say I will carry you in my heart.") and is being generous as to look out for the things and people she cares for, despite himself.  He can tell she cares for Kaidan and wishes to protect her emotional well-being, since he's not in a condition to go with her and protect her physical well-being as he did throughout ME2.

And here's an evil piece of evil headcanon that never happened to me(because faihtful)....

I mean..that's still Cerberus ship, no matter how cool Shepard plays. How about TIM sending out a nice little video to Staff Cmdr Alenko?..How did he feel watchin it? I mean..He sounds so sure in hospital, and does not believe when shepard lies... I doubt a man like him just followed the "lower deck rumors", and could accuse her just because "everyone knows", huh?
