Costa may not be Kaidan, but he's certainly entertaining eye candy. Even if he does sometimes have entertaining wardrobe choices! Raphael is more Kaidan than Costa to me I think.

Sbarge is for sure a big part of Kaidan... that dreamy voice.

why does Bioware spell Kaidan's name 'Kaiden' in various things, ie. in ME1 and even more recently on the website: http://masseffect.bi...om/about/story/

On that page under his character blurb, you have both Kaidan and Kaiden. So which is it?

I've always thought it was Kaidan. They should really get a better editor for their official website at least :\\

Guys, this may be old news... but

why does Bioware spell Kaidan's name 'Kaiden' in various things, ie. in ME1 and even more recently on the website:

There is not a single use of "Kaiden" spelling within game through the series (point me at screen or moment if you think I'm wrong, but his wiki page still thiks same). And some of web-editors are either lazy or do not care. In both cases I'd fire him NAOW.

I think we need to report to Evil Chris. He should know whom to pass message, even if he's not in charge for site content supporters.

Where's that Sbarge vs. Luciano worshippers pic from before? I can't seem to find it again...

I hadn't given it too much thought, but from watching and listening to Sbarge's interviews, audioblogs and so on recently, I'm much convinced that the main "component" for Kaidan is Raphael Sbarge. He's the one who gave soul to a 3D puppet. Plus, the animations for dialogue cutscenes were probably made after he voiced them to match his acting.

Of course, Kaidan's got perfect looks too, and Costa is a good-looking guy, but i can't see him as anything else than a pretty face. It doesn't help that most of the pics i've seen from him are modeling stuff (posed + photoshopped + questionable wardrobed). So there's nothing for me to drool over here. The only "live" bits i saw from him were from that reality show, so, not really interesting either. 

But, it's true he was the starting point for Kaidan's awesome looks - it is quite obvious from his mouth, his eyebrows, his jaw, the dark hair - so he deserves some credits too.

@AkodoRyu Shep's floating butt, the floating wine, and Kaidan's escaped shadow in the ground always breaks the drama and tension Bioware intended for that moment...at least for me

they can call files and variables how they wish. As a coding person I know from experience that sometimes DB tables and fields may have...very interesting IDs, and no one would ever know.
So - that's not an excuse. In-game and in codex there's only KaidAn Alenko.

No... i was just leaving MP  > got Shadow, and kill grabbed a Nemesis and had the time of my life.
Also experienced Typhoon, and found out i'm definitely not the Krogan fan. 
Also, first time playing as Salarian, and i'm disappointed at its speed, i thought he would be the fastest of all characters (would make sense).

@Nrieh: It's still funny thou how are creators themselves indecisive. I "dealt with it" since we developed the "countermeasures" (The Evil Twin, also brilliantly illustrated by FireEye and her ME1 modding), but it's also funny how the error rooted into people's minds, while "Kaiden" appeared maybe once or twice in ME1 subtitles (afaik).

I keep getting weapons which I'll never use. Like that asari shotgun or that harpoon sniper. <_<

Yeah, it's really weird. The people I've introduced to Mass Effect who are not as obsessed as me don't play as much also call him "Kaiden" even if they haven't noticed Bioware's spelling error in-game. Maybe it's because Kaidan is a unique name (they associate a name like Aiden or Jaden to Kaidan perhaps?). But you'd think they should get it by now, given how many times I say Kaidan's name whenever I talk about Mass Effect <_<

@AkodoRyu > well, if what you're describing is true, someone at BW should definitely check their website update routine. You're supposed to update online files, not local files. Also, if anybody REALLY cared, a simple "find and replace all" from the whole site / database would take 2 seconds top. Anybody interested, i'm for hire. And i will write KaidAn alright ;P

I agree, it's really interesting how a simple artefact thing from ME1 has evolved into something a lot more tangible. I sense this would not have happened if it hadn't been Kaidan's character. I can't imagine "Liara" spelled "Liarah", or "Llara" without it being corrected right away.

I guess KaidAn challenges straight guyness too much for his own good.
