Hi, as I said, the female 19-29 population is probably over-represented from that survey.
For that survey to be truly meaningful on the overall ME fanbase, we would have needed to know the structure for the ME fanbase which is very very very probably NOT what demographics are shown here.
After that, we would need to gather samples from each population and ask the same questions.

Agreed, to have a good survey is quite difficult without a big budget, what BW should have done is to include a copy of their own survey or comment box inside the game, nothing fancy, just the type of questionaires that require 5 minutes

In statistics, it is easy to fall into the trap of extrapolation, it is too easy to estimate the population mean based on inaccurate findings

I find some of the surveys and polls here are really not much more than the stuff we talk about in these forums, except that this "stuff" is compiled and expressed in numbers

Right. The survey suffers from a voluntary response bias (I believe) and therefore is not representative of the actual ME playerbase.

And the results of a biased survey are moot.

Correct

If there is a survey about whether Kaidan should have his own line of merchandise, people like us will go "yes", and a few trolls will chip in "no", and people who are into other characters are just indifferent and ignore the survey, hence a lovely "99%" approval rate is produced

Some people don't like it, but I do hehe. The lighting was wonderful for my Sheps (for my very limited laptop, it's a plus), it was a chance for my Sheploo to finally say "I love you", and it was....bittersweet  :crying:

  Initially I found it strange the dialogue ended with "hmm, I have never been to London", I was thinking: "What?!", maybe both of them were just too shy, I mean, two buff dudes, in full armor, openly kissing in all gallantry on a battlefield, who doesn't want to watch that???

Of course, that's the difference between official and fanmade surveys, it can't be help. But it doesn't mean that fanmade surveys & polls don't deliver useful data. They're just not as reliable as proper statistics, but it can tell a lot about specific target audiences.

About a questionnaire included for each game owner box... you're 500% right!
You know, BW is so very lucky to have such a vocal fanbase! Fans talk to them all the time! They're eager to give feedback! So absolutely, it would be so easy, especially with Origin / BSN accounts and unique customer IDs to have a very well organized and constructive feedback routine, with precise demographics, real-time updates and so on. Of course, they've got RL feedback in-game, and also from your saves and so on. But they lack formal qualitative feedback imo. Don't know much how it could work for PS3 and XBox though, i'm not too familar with that.

Easy, they could have put something on the spectre terminal on the Citadel, by completing the survey you get grade X spectre shotgun or snipe rifle or assault rifle, etc:wizard:

Qualitative feedback? That is a toughy, not sure if it can be helped, the forums are a good place to voice opinions on all platforms but I guess it is only a small fraction of game owners that actually come here

Oh wow Posted Image Hey, I would take you in my marketing team right away! Excellent idea!!!

It also seemed that they didn't know exactly what to say, even if they do feel their entire existence and world riding on this...even if they mean the world to each other, especially Shep dismissing their seeping feelings to focus on work--to make it seem that seeing Kaidan the "final" time doesn't matter when it actually does. So Kaidan giving in, allowing Shep to gravitate to him--their soft place to land--for just a moment is... :crying::crying::crying:

Come on, you'll make me cry Posted Image

I'm actually amazed at how very mature and just... so very right that scene came out.
The only little detail which sounds a bit off to me is the way Sbarge says "we know this is goodbye", but as I know how it works, what little material he probably had to work upon, given the fact that he recorded this alone, i just overlook it. The last line from Kaidan "I've never been to London" fading away was also just as bittersweet as it should be...

The whole London goodbye dialogue is heavily ominous, almost so unbearably so that i couldn't believe they wouldn't make Kaidan and Shepard reunite by the end of the game. I was proven wrong. Posted Image

Neverthelees, I bow to whoever at BW deserves credits for this, nice work.

What do you mean? Kaidan is the best squadmember. He'll solo the whole game on insanity. B)
Oh, that was the problem? Okay, just ignore what I said. :?

"If you bring him to a mission, I am just gonna be a little distracted"

Solo the whole game? "Alenko, human, spectre status recognised"

But...but I survived insanity with Kaidan! Don't you feel motivated whenever you gape at see his wonderful sexy reave armor face voice  butt biotics like I do?! For shame!!! :P:P:P

But for a serious answer, you can bring him to missions you haven't taken him before, also with the right squadmates if you're curious about his other banters; don't take him to missions you've taken him before for balance~ As for me, I take him everywhere as preference, both strategic and personal <3

Edit: @Beep same sentiments exactly :wizard:

@Mimi The voice acting was what really sold me to that scene too...their voices cracking--trying to maintain control of their emotions (there's a war to be won, damn it)--but losing to their feelings in the end...just (gets tissue lolz) :crying::crying::crying:

About London goodbyes, what do you guys make of "I owe a lot of that to you."?

It always sounds weird to me, as if they've known each other for 15 years and Shepard was his mentor or something. Seems a bit exagerated. But then Shepard is just EVERYBODY's mentor. Posted Image

Yeah so did I, but I find James's carnage inresistable, hmmm, maybe this time I will assign carnage as my bonus power

I think what I need to do is to give up the idea of default squad but have a default squad member (you know who) instead

Becoming a spectre? saving him on Virmire, Mars...etc

EDIT: I think the word "that" means his life in general, right?

Yeah, i really meant, the "mentor" thing in general, not that line specifically.
Kaidan says "the messed up kid that i was, never dreamed of the life he had. And i owe a lot of that to you."
What bothers me is that he links Shepard back to his kid self. The only thing i can think of, is that he means Shepard helping him about his Vyrnnus / Rahna / biotics control freakiness issues. But this sounded not really as such imo.

Its probably a silly mistake

The correct dialogue should be: " ...the messed up kid that I was, never dreamed of the life that he WAS ABOUT TO HAVE, and I owe a lot of that to you"
