In ME3 when you talk to Legion, he out right says destroying them was the right option. If you rewrote them there are more geth to turn on you and you don't get the point towards being able to save both the geth and the quarians.

I also found it strange that according to the ME3 strategy guide brokering peace between the Quarians and Geth is actually easier if you destroy the heretic geth in ME2. But if you do destroy them, you get Renegade points. Go figure.


EDIT:  Lind, yes - saving the council is the paragon choice (not that they make things any easier for you later on...)

I'm actually ok with this and for a few reasons.  Throughout the whole mission Shep and squaddies are going on and on about how rewriting would be tantamount to brainwashing/indoctrinating.  I was very surprised at the end then to find out that rewriting was the paragon option...I always felt like both options were a little morally ambigious but I never expected the brainwashing option to be paragon seeing as how they were ****ing about it the whole time.  Destroy it is then.  

Also, I fancy a few scars.  I think they're sexy.  Especially on mshep.   A few renegade options here are there never go amiss.

 I'm pretty sure it's not a good thing. Tali isn't loyal after that and she won't even talk to you really. Besides, you can just tell Admiral Quib Quib guy about it after the trial. He's on the board and now he knows, but Tali's dad's not publicly humiliated and she's not mad.

I thought it was weird that rewriting was the paragon choice too. Someone explained to me an easy way to see it. It works a lot of the time. Paragon is charming (brainwashing) to get your way, whether good or bad, and renegade is strong arming to get your way, whether good or bad.

It was just weird because in the conversations leading to the choice, brainwashing was on the paragon side of the wheel, but Shep was talking like it was wrong.

I made peace between the Geth and the Quarians on my very first candid PT. AND i rewrote the heretics, it seemed just so very obvious and easy to achieve, is taht actually complicated?

Obvious or not, but you've seen the table. I had Tali dead in my first run (which is canon), and I also prefered saving people instead of Admiral. So - I had no peace options. I started uploading, and then - changed my mind and saved quarians. Second run was "perfect", and there I could make peace - Tali alive, admiral saved (metagaming - I'd still prefer saving people, so as myShep). In both cases geth were rewritten and base was destroyed. Also if I start new run to try Leviathan - I'll start from ME1. I'm not sure about making canon or "perfect" one - I'd probably keep Tali one more time for the sake of Alenko's banters... 8P

Finishing ME2. Starting up my last mission with "The Perfects". Just about my favorite squad of all time, Shepard, Miranda, and Grunt. I'll miss these guys:crying:

If only I could have Grunt back in ME3. I could replace Perfect Genes for Perfect Booty and I'd feel complete again. Or man, I could have had two Perfect Butts!

Yes, and by the grace of BW lowering EMS threshold I was able to witness that infamous breath scene

Kaidan looks so helpless when he is holding the name plate, he could not let go ... Steve would understand, and lends a shoulder... headcanon begins now
