But artisitically speaking, it is very touching, and people wanted that, the Normandy pick up scene is by NO MEANS "another" goodbye scene, it just shows Shepard was getting his squad, which happened to include Kaidan, out of harms way, if that is a goodbye scene why didn't Kaidan put the name plate up? obviously there is hope for a reunion, right?

Hey, I'm not trying to ruin all chances of hope for your Shenko or to cheapen that scene for you!
As I said, i'm just expressing my personal view on this, it's just me and my Shenko. You say "people wanted that", well, no, I didn't want that.   

And OF COURSE, there is reunion.
"Goodbye" doesn't mean they'll never be together again!
In french, "goodbye" means literally "till we meet again", so there you go!
In spite of those London goodbyes, it is obvious that Kaidan will never lose Shepard again.

The Normandy pick up scene is probably the only thing I liked in the EC, oh, and the memorial scene

I don't think you sound harsh.

I get what you mean and I wouldn't suggest taking that away from you. The scene's emotional impact is very high. People craved something like that, something that showed a connection between Shepard and the LI.

I love how the scene echoes what happened in ME2: Kaidan getting to (relative) safety, Shepard soldiering on.

For me London a goodbye scene because ever since I saw ME3's ending my headcanon said one of them dies. I found an MShenko fic (When the Doors and Windows Are Both Closed by wook77) around that time and was blown away. Oh, how ironic and poignant the ending is when the wrong person survives. I mean everything points to Shepard being the one who will not come back (if you want to see it that way, of course) ... and then boom, Shepard wakes up and Kaidan is the one who's gone. I bawled like a baby.

I enjoy all the other variations, too, but this one has a special, tear-soaked place in my heart. That's why the London goodbye scene is dear to me.

Then the EC rolled around and I sort of wavered a bit and ... well, refusal does have some appeal, too. Of course, everyone dies there, too.

I'm a horrible fangirl. I love to ruin my favorite characters lives. I made Alistair a wandering drunk.
Oh wait, not true, I didn't do anything to Sebastian. So, it's 2:1.
Carth is still save from me, though, as I can't get KOTOR to run on Win7. But I've heard the romance ends tragic no matter what. Make it 3:1 then.

ANY of those is better than what is in game, and any of those may include mshenko ILY and "moment of peas*", though plot-wise at this point there is NO place for such thing. If you think otherwise - try to play MP (silver or gold) and while fighting final evac wave - try to find some place for such a moment (preferably - being cornered by 2 banshees and few brutes around) and have some friendly origin chat.

And my squad does talk all the time in MP. There's plenty of time for peaceful talk even in Platinum, especially with a team of Demolishers   Anyway, there really wasn't all that much going on in the run for the beam. Certainly not a bunch of banshees and brutes.

Mimitochan, I agree Kaidan waving Shep to go on makes more sense. I was laughing the first time I saw Shep call for the Normandy. Oh the benefits of being Cmdr Shepard,

"Hey, TIME OUT! Everyone just hold up! My lover's slightly injured on the battlefield! Get in here and get him to safety!"




Oh, on a side note. Did anyone notice that on insanity, Marauder Shields totally wusses out? I shot him once and he just walked backwards into the beam:blink:

I know that because I could not romance Kaidan in ME1
