Yeah.. Im only playing SP but Im freezing every few minutes with the "You have been disconnected from the EA servers..." message.

Annoying in the middle of a fight - especially the power pack bit in levi lol..
yay for waaayyyy too many brutes

On a side note.. I was just talking to mum about the PS3 / sony / BW ME probs. Her response. "Its obvious.... BW got their MMO (Starwars) so they're miffed and trying for payback"    love the way my mum thinks lol

So browsing around the Internets reveals the following quote:
future DLC plans of any kind depend upon success of Leviathan. If we see that people want SP DLC, can always make more. :)

So, er, I bought it, I want more! I guess I hope others buy it and it is (in the eyes of BW) successful... because there has to be more Kaidan out there, right? It's not over yet...

I really hope so. Honestly, I think this SP DLC is awesome. Got me playing again and really... it had been awhile.
Got me interested in playing all the games again.
I don't have anything bad to say about the DLC.
You know,,, Lev gave me the creepy, chilled, awed feeling I havent had since Sov at Virmire.

After playing it a couple of times I actually think i'll try and continue my insanity run.

But.... I dunno.... how many people do you think are still playing... as in the ones that were too dissapointed in the endings and just gave up.

Heh - with me it's turning out just the opposite. I held off on my playthrough just before Thessia to play Leviathan. Now that I played it, I completed my playthrough Wednesday evening and just don't feel like starting up another one.

As much as I enjoyed Leviathan & will probably purchase any DLC's that will be made, I can't help but feel I'm spinning my wheels here since any new content still won't effect the outcome of the game. Posted Image

Sorta makes me wonder if EA/BW sees me as nothing more than a patsy since the endings are far from perfect but here I am still shelling out $$ to buy BW points for more ME content. Posted Image

Where's that from? Cut dialogue?

ASHLEY WILLIAMS
Hm, nobody died.

KAIDAN ALENKO
I could shoot someone if it'd make you feel better.

ASHLEY WILLIAMS
Nah, I'm good.

That's ME1 Ash+Kaidan squad banter during Citadel C-sec mission (given by an officer, something about making a simple deal with a man to get some evidence, but violence is also an optional outcome).

anything new and interesting I missed?

I feel the same more or less. I know this was not the intent for the tweet, but to me it just says that they're only going to carry cost effective projects on, which is hardly news to say the least.

Actually, what would really appeal to me right now, is a fankit DLC that would enable me to render my own ending our illustrate my ME story. Obviously, a lot of modding is already going on, and awesome stuff out there, but making it official would make it all easier and not so much time consuming.

As I said, Leviathan feels like an Easter Egg DLC, and you can't have that many easter eggs when a game is over.
That last unintended Shenko scene made my day, just seeing that brought extra closure to my Shenko. I realized though that the extra specific LI content was what I disliked the most, which reminded me of what i disliked from the EC, which in turn reminded me of the original endings Posted Image

Also, from what i've heard, an Omega DLC seems to be the most likely upcoming DLC, and if it's Aria centered, I just couldn't care less.

@Nrieh @Ianthia > thanks for explaining, i'll have to check that out next time.

For those who remember me? I have a headcanon where my Shepards are fraternal twins... So... yeah, this is a little Awkward Kaidan/M!Shep moment. Round about ME3 or so. :P

Shepard: I'm sorry. You asked her what?
Kaidan: I haven't uh, asked her yet. I wanted to come to you first. You know, you're her brother, and... uh...
Shepard: So why come to me?
Kaidan: Because it's polite? I don't know - i-its some traditional thing. You know, asking the family if they'll accept me and so on.
Shepard: You realise I already consider you a brother... right?
Kaidan: So, you're alright with me asking her to marry me right?
Shepard: Kaidan... *claps hand on his shoulder*  She's your problem now!
Kaidan: *bursts out laughing*
Fem!Shep:
I heard that, you dick!

They're a business, they're here to make money. As much as we'd like it to be true, they're not doing this out of the love of the characters or the story. They're in it for money. If it's not making them money they're not gonna do it.

I really liked Leviathan and I played through it many times already. I thought it was fun and that's all I look for in a DLC. I'm more in the camp of "please don't touch the endings, you'll probably just make it worse". As long as they give me more Kaidan and a fun story with some action, I'm happy. They better keep them coming. This is all we get. When they're done with these DLCs it's over. I'm not ready to say goodbye forever yet.:crying:

Who wouldn't want more Kaidan?
I just want him - and everybody else, but especially him - to be well written and rendered, not just fanserviced and puppy eyed...  I still have to see that LI bit for everybody else though, i gather Steve's is the only unique one.

@Aurora: as usual, i love your dialogue snippets :)

I wouldn't boil them down to some kind of cold-caculating machine like that. Certinally they're not doing this as a Hobby, but to suggest that's the only reason would be going too far. Normally people get into this industry because they love their jobs. They love to play games and interact with these characters as much as we do. Whether their love of video games outweighs the financial aspect is unclear(there are plenty of non-money making examples of content they've put time into), but I doubt very many people at bioware make sixfigures.

Of course there is love, love from all the individuals who created everything that was/is ME, but at the end of the day, it is first of all a company that is now part of a huge marketing and advertizing giant, in an industry that has become even more market driven... That goodbye message that replaces the "legend" thing at the end of the game always puzzles me in that regard. My sentimental self struggles to find a secret meaning in it, as from experience, the larger the company, the more complex are decision making processes.

He said that this is the closest he'll ever come to knowing what it was like to be a Beatle.

I've heared this from an interview. There is part of truth in it, to be honest. He has a point here. Though he got lucky - not all fans know how he looks.

I was watching Martin Scorsese "living in a material world" last weekend. And it made me think again whether it's possible to focus same grade of love, hate and all sorts of emotion at one point or thing or person nowdays. And "big" games were the only thing I could think of, actually. There are few book examples (like Harry Potter), but games have more chances, imo.

Strange that films seem to lack of "special something", I mean if we even take "epic" Avatar - it was good as film, but I doubt many took it really close or personal. People liked it, but I don't think it could affect teens same as SW once did (And SW did not even have a single love scene and only one or two gentle kisses 8P). There was no World behind it (if you know what I mean). B5 had it right, SW had it, I can't judge Star Trek - but looks like it was also among "expandable" things. Avatar same as many recent movies and books was just a single-use entertainment. ME has (or should I say 'had'?) more than that. DA has more than that (for now).

edit: Top? Me? again?...Forum gods have sense of humor..

here you go, dear thread, How can I come ToP-less? 8P
