Media was different 40 years ago though, these days if it's not personalizable and interactive it's hardly worth the time, and 40 years ago the SE for star wars was incomparable to anything else. Avatar is about as revolutionary as we've had in film for a while, and even it was simply a finely tuned version of CGI films of past. Simply put, there has been nothing as revolutionary as far as reinventing the wheel so to speak.. as SW was in the 1970s.Strange that films seem to lack of "special something", I mean if we even take "epic" Avatar - it was good as film, but I doubt many took it really close or personal. People liked it, but I don't think it could affect teens same as SW once did (And SW did not even have a single love scene and only one or two gentle kisses 8P). There was no World behind it (if you know what I mean). B5 had it right, SW had it, I can't judge Star Trek - but looks like it was also among "expandable" things. Avatar same as many recent movies and books was just a single-use entertainment. ME has (or should I say 'had'?) more than that. DA has more than that (for now).
ME, even as fantastic as it is, and as great as it's decision tree is, simply is a very refined version of an established concept.
That's why we'll never have another SW, Alien, LOTR, ect.. there will be decently done renditions, but nothing like when they first hit the box-office, shelves, ect.
To be honest, I can't even remember the last time I went to the movies, it's all the same crap done over.. why bother?
the angry nerd rage that ME3 will soon be over came out for a moment- Ignore thatHe said that this is the closest he'll ever come to knowing what it was like to be a Beatle. Why wouldn't he enjoy it?
