Well yeah, but like.

Okay, I completely disagree, but I can see how Ash would come off as abrasive to some people and result in them thinking she's a b*tch. They're wrong, but I can see it. I can see how someone might hate Tali(war criminal), Liara (thinks she's my girlfriend), or EDI (took Miranda's spot in the squad, has a ******).

What is there to hate about Kaidan?

So.... farewell, good old RP games, I guess. And...no, I'm not going to write here how they are going to screw DA3...oh wait...I already did, didn't I

that's not entirely EA's fault. Have you been watching the industry in general? EA's stock, and the stock of MANY major developers, Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony included have plumeted in recent years, mainly because of the expansion of the mobile market. They need new ideas, they need to give relevance and expand their audience some how. Multiplayer is how you do that.

Stand-alone $60 titles and $300 consoles are a dying breed, the longevity of the 360 and PS3 are evidence of that enough. I'm not suggesting I approve of the idea, but I understand it's a necessary evil.

Can we openly talk about Leviathan now

never do that again seemed so bland for some reason..


does anyone know how well Levithan is selling? I remember BW mentioning any future SP DLC hinged on it's success (or failure)

I wouldn't worry about this too much. Eventually graphics will hit a plateau. They just won't be able to get any better and they'll be cheap to do so everyone will have great graphics. Games will have to start focusing on story and being more creative with graphics and processing capabilities if they want to stand out. We'll hit a blow out, but I'm pretty confident things will be much better after that. 

The only thing to be scared of are microtransactions and DLC. That's really gonna get worse for a while. We haven't seen the hayday for that ye 

I don't know about that.. espically with the mobile marking exploding and the console/desktop marking shrinking. Costs to produce games haven't gone down in 40 years. 

 didn't elaborate much about my issue with gaming graphics, but what I'm worried about is how games are going to be inclined to graphics more than story to attract the market; the sacrifice of story for graphics.

Also the constant internet access, account-making, and server-dependent thing worries me as much as DLC microtransactions

Leviathan note, on my Garrus-mance playthrough, I took Garrus+Kaidan for the missions (it's still my favorite team) and it was still Kaidan who carries Shep from the Tritan back to the shuttle! He also expressed concern about her going down in the mech before a brief flash to Garrus who wanted to say something before Shep departed. Back on the shuttle, Garrus bent over her with concern, but overall there was a lot of Kaidan jumping in with lines - quite nice to have him as a dialog hog for once But in Garrus's favor, he did get a wonderful line on the Normandy where he said how worried he was about her.

I honestly have no idea why people insist these characters force themselves on Shepard. My Shepard can't talk to Kaidan about his mother or visit him when he's injured? He can't take him on missions?

@krukow but to really answer your question to fill this empty void, a lot of people hate Kaidan because:

1. OMG YOU WEREN'T THERE FOR SHEP! (same issue for Ash too, I guess). This usually comes in conjunction to: UNLIKE GARRUS! HE WAS FOREVER BY SHEP'S SIDE~ Not all who love Garrus are like this though, and I'm thankful; I on the other hand, can't understand how some equate loving Garrus more by hating on other Shep pairings--you're just being a plain jerk this way...and dumb.

2. Carth clone --although how does this justify Kaidan hate escapes me entirely when the only connection between them is that they share the same VAs and gaming company. If you ask me, Carth has more similarities to Thane.

3. Whiny, p*ssy, unmanly --hmm so telling Shep about his migraines just once in ME1 and ME3 when Shep prods him is whiny (he doesn't complain about it either, he just says that L2 implants cause them, but won't hinder in battle); ever get that banter mid-battle where Kaidan stops Shep to take a painkiller? No? Me neither. Hope those guys get migraines their entire life to rid of that dumb in them. Seems like the only way to make them understand. 

So sharing his thoughts when Shep asks him is whiny? Do those guys that think so have actual friends? Have they experienced actual human interaction? Apparently not. Also Shepard, the badass savior of the galaxy, states openly that sharing his thoughts doesn't make him whiny, it makes him human--this should automatically invalidate the opinion of those guys who think otherwise because Shep is that awesome.

So sharing thoughts are unmanly, yet those same guys call Ash butch and abrasive...hmm might want to have that sanity check.

Maybe it's preference, but I like sensitive guys and in general I like empathic people, people who take time to get to know you, care for you and really understand you, yet have the integrity to stand for what they believe is right. If these sorts like DURR HURR MUSCLES SAVE THE DAMSELS I'LL ACT STOIC BECAUSE MANLY...that's just sad. Even Vega has a senitive side.

4. Boring --hmm short attention span much? That's their problem.

5. Almost forgot this, GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY~ --it's not even homophobia, it's being a jerk (one has no business whatsoever in other people's sexuality).

In conjunction, some don't like that he was "turned" gay in ME3. So assume straight until proven guilty? Way to stay classy. Here, I'll introduce a concept that's wonderful: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. Deal with it.

I wanna post Chapter five of my goddamned Duet Effect! Kaidan and Fem!Shep are interrogating Barla Von and Wrex! And sassying Bro!Shep and Ashley along the way... T.T... or rather, Fem!Shep is sassing, Kaidan's trying not to laugh.

Just kidding! I'm actually going out of my way to bring him on every mission I can in my current playthrough, so I can get to know him, but I think it's a mistake cuz it's going to make Virmire that much harder.

You almost got me there  I'm interested to have that version of your game though. 


After Leviathan, I'm planning another ME1 playthrough because (as I stated over and over already lol) I just adore Ash and Kaidan's snarky banter in ME1. Virmire was really the most gut-killing thing I've decided on in my entire ME experience. And as Aurora313 and I agreed upon in the Ash thread, I'd rather have Liara sacrificed
