Warp
Lift/Throw whichever
I want Sabotage to make a comeback, but I doubt it since it was there pretty much solely to overheat their weapons. Stupid terminal clips.
Neural Shock or Cryo Blast
Some kind of sentinel special that boost health or healing

Aww, this is so beyond awesome/adorable. I can't wait to see the dialogue in game

-Warp (If Jack won't get Warp all of a sudden, several Shepards are going to stay without Warp because Liara forget how to cast it)
-Overload (or Sabotage in case it now will cause something like total thermal clip destruction - it will take time to change clip and enemy obviously will unable to shoot from such weapon)
-Lift (Lift and Warp as two components of Warp bomb, no Singularity because Kaidan never had one)
-Cryo mine (???) Since everybody is going to have mines/grenades, I'd prefer to give Kaidan controlling one
-Sentinel SpeCTRe (squad cooldown bonus? I can see his class ability similar to Miranda's in ME2 - she gave squad bonuses to damage and health. This reflects the nature of Sentinel as covering and backuping class. But since Miranda will likely stick to her damage/health bonus and she is far more "attacking" and commanding, Kaidan would better have something showing his knowledge of biotics/tech)

well, hmmm, I might have said otherwise teasingly, but just because I didn't really like Ashley (I have one Shep who's nice to his entire crew except her), doesn't mean I enjoyed making the decision to leave her behind
but ... Kaidan has a higher rank and is a biotic ... my apologies Ms. Williams

Traditionally the KAST and the Ash thread have got on very well, the Ash thread are our closest *allies* on the ME forums....
I don't really like to see her insulted as she was my BFF and I hated leaving her to die :'( There are a couple of others I would have left instead if I had a choice. No disrespect to the other characters, I just really like Ash.....

Too bad we can't leave behind Random Crewmember #2 instead.

Regardless of how you feel about Ash or Kaidan, making the choice had to suck for Shepard. I try and keep that in mind when talking about both of them.

Yeah, I didn't like leaving Ash either. Kaidan was her LI, but Ash was her BFF. Sucked having to leave her behind. :(

Yeah, Ashley is the kind of strong, independent, awesome female character I would want my FemShep to be. So choosing to leave her behind on Virmire is never easy. Loving Kaidan doesn't mean you have to dislike Ashley.

But I can be bitter that we have to choose at all. Virmire sucks. Even though I know that it was well executed...it sucks.

The way I usually play it with Ash going with the Salarians I can pretend it's a tactical decision to save Kaidan, Shep backtracking instead of heading into the unknown, but Virmire is a tough call and I dread it each time.

When I look at my ME1 import saves on Gibbs Ashley normally has a higher friendship score than either LIs Liara and Kaidan :D

Yeah, I did that too. Send Ash to help the Salarians and have Kaidan arm the nuke. So when that part comes up I just have to take the elevator back down.

Hey, if anyone's interested, Manipulations just got updated.

I'm not sure but I'm turning to loving the Shepard/Kaidan/Miranda potential here.

Yeah. And more power to Kaidan and his superior posterior.

Virmire is a tough call, but tactically I have a hard time justifying saving Ashley instead of Kaidan.

Kaidan is best suited for arming the nuke, since he's the tech guy.  True, Ashley is able to do it just fine in the cutscene, but I can't RP a Shepard who would take that risk.  (You could argue that Kaidan is the superior officer and thus more capable of leading the salarians, but I have to RP that the bomb takes priority over that.)  My Shepards always go back to protect the bomb.  The Geth are extremely technologically advanced.  How could Shepard be certain they wouldn't figure out how to unarm a homemade jury-rigged bomb?  She couldn't risk it.

I have saved Ashley in 3 playthroughs and I enjoy her character a lot but I really have to metagame Virmire.

That's part of my usual reasoning too. Bomb must go boom and the geth would not have had time to become entrenched backtheway making a rescue more likely. Going up to the unknown salarian postion would mean the geth possibly being able to disarm the bomb and trying to reach Ash through enemies who have had time to establish themselves can take so long that she gets killed anyway. So Shep loses both officers instead of just one.

My mainShep is gay, so I kept Kaiden (SHALLOW, I know, but this was more metagaming as I was expecting either ME2 or ME3 to allow m/m).
My racistShep keeps Ashley, for a romance. Miranda will come in ME2, then Shep will make a choice.
My femShep will keep Kaiden likely, for romance (though not sure if she'll stay).
My boyfriend's playthrough I'll insist he picks Ashley :P, just for variety.
I have nothing against her, and in fact her 'turning into Spectre' story may be more believable when it comes to it, looking at her character development relating to the blemish on her family's history. She's really making her father proud.

This.
And I still feel guilty for Ashley because it looks like I've killed her to save my favourite LI. I understand that Shepard even without such feelings will likely choose higher ranked squadmate, more used in squad person, but still the fact that personal feelings might affect my judgement is highly unpleasant. It's the exact reason I never pick paragon response answering Kaidan in the comm room talk right after Virmire

I miss her like hell, I take her everywhere with me until Virmire...... It's always me, Kaidan and Ash... So it hurts.. I never play as soldier either (apart from once to unlock assault rifle for my sentinel) so she isn't just my friend, she is an important crew mate. When Shepard says in ME2 ''I left a friend to die that day and I didn't do it lightly, she flipping well means it.
Also, I think that Kaidan and Ash are buddies, they seem to be anyway :) Their elevator chats are matey and they interact like people who talk to each other out of combat.
Anyway, Kaidan seems to like her and that should be good enough for any Kaidan fan :P

My first playthrough for ME1, for some reason I thought they were alone in the comm room. So Shepard is confessing that she could never leave him behind. Then suddenly Liara is "Ahem about the mission."
Oops, oh hi everyone, what's going on? Don't mind us humans, you know us and our crazy hormones.
