I don't watch TV. Very very much occasionally so. And my brain thanks me.
The last show i kind of followed was "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", i got hooked. That Andy Whitfield seemed to be the loveliest guy ever - not to mention very good looking -, and while i watched Season 1, i didn't know he had already died from cancer at that time. I learnt about it while watching the last episodes, it really made me feel sad.



His gladiator part always gave him that stern angry face, but candid RL pics always showed him as this smiling, easygoing guy.

I'm sorry, not Kaidan related.

What was your initial reaction to Kaidan confessing to you that he killed someone in self defence (in ME1)?

To be honest, i didn't think much of it. But it's been a while since my last ME1 PT.
I thought he had been silly, and also, man, he must have really liked that girl
Which is a false conclusion of course since as you said, it was rather out of self defense.
The story in itself is not that interesting, what's interesting is the dynamic that builds up around it between Shep & Kaidan.

EDIT> which makes me think, at that point, the Paragon choice is totally out of my Shep, but i think I ended up picking it because you get interesting Kaidan lines after that. I sinned. I metagamed.

Though I don't want them to make a Mass Effect movie Andy Whitfield was always the actor I most wanted to see play Shepard, felt like he just had the right kind of aura to him.  Plus he was great in Spartacus, loved that show.

I was kinda shocked, but then again everyone has some baggage... it makes sense with Kaidan's personality, with all the questioning, and the thinking, and the headaches

Well, I always choose paragon dialogues, except when some characters are hinting at starting a romance... thanks but no thanks

That's what i meant. 
Actually, he was 39 and left a wife and children.

This is one of the reasons I wanted a happy ending for Kaidan and Shepard.
I think it wasn't too much to ask.

What do you mean? Does it bother you in any way that he liked a girl?
Kaidan is talking about his teen years here, so all of this happened a long time ago, but to be honest, the very mention of Rahna made me instantly jealous at that time. And when he says they kept their clothes on, i'm just yaying all around (i know it's silly).
My Shepard is rather the type to do sarcastic comments at that moment (Renegade options), but Kaidan is so lovely, he makes her grow soft.

Absolutely, as i google imaged him, i thought, wow, he would have been perfect as Commander Shepard.
He had this versatile beauty and charisma that is needed for Shep's part. The fact that he seemed to be this very likable person, and obviously, so brave from his cancer struggle, made him a lot more handsome man to me.

I guess that's why he makes me think of Kaidan, i mean Kaidan is only so handsome to me because of his character.

Renegade Shep was funny until ME3. Half of my Sheps were renegade and half them were paragon until ME3. After seeing what a jerk renegade Shep is in ME3, I started to roll paragon Sheps only.

Well, that's because you've got several Sheps.
I only have one, and I don't have a real alignment "label" for my Shep, i just tend to pick whatever feels more inline with her character (i.e. what i would do if i was Commander Shepard). Especially since she's supposed to be the Ruthless Butcher. The game didn't give me much option, i just figured out that she had no other choice to be a Butcher at that time, and had to live with it. So it doesn't necessarily mean that she's cruel.

I agree ME3 Renegade is borderline. Again, i always wonder how a 100% Renegade Shep could actually care about that vent kid from Vancouver, and how people can look up to such a jerk and follow him/her to Hell.

It wasn't that she was a ****, it's simply that she didn't know why she was supposed to care about faceless people. Even then, she still refused to kill those she knew in cold blood. She'd either browbeat them into submission or just avoid the confrontation all together. ME3 was her moments of redemption so to speak. She brow beats her allies and enemies alike into compliance.

Well what do you make of the baby and hanar preacher subquests in ME1?
I always think, oh my Shep wouldn't even bother to go and talk to them, she just couldn't care less about others' problems. But i make her go and talk to them anyway because of EXP and achievements
