Well i never romanced Steve, and yes, i think that the crying part bothered me - i mean, even non-romancing him.
I don't think that the Normandy is a place to let oneself emotionally go like this. Might have been different is this had been on shore leave though. Leviathan shed a new light on him, and i think he comes out as pretty shexy in there (that banter and that mischievious look on the shuttle are great).

Eek! Please don't do that, I swear I'll try romancing steve next time (maybe when I play insanity) so I can judge his character story better. If I end up not liking him anyway, you can write me into blacklist.

This isn't about Steve's character, it's just the scene that i feel is awkward. It would feel the same way for any character in Steve's place.
Oh you mean it's downtime at that moment?
I don't know, for me, if you're on the Normandy, then you're on duty, but i may remember wrong since i only played that scene once.

I always imagine that other people are there around him, like James, and other engineers, so i don't see a mourning person listening to that recording right there, without some intimacy. So it's really not the fact that he's crying, but the context.

Dunno i'll try to find that article, it's old. MS got also some trouble with LGBT about a girl that was banned from xbl because she wrote on her profile she was lesbian. They do allow that now, but at the time of ME1 it was not, so dunno if it's related to the policy of MS at that time, I never played Fable, dunno when it was realeased :x
