Well, the Collectors were retreating, so Kaidan/Ash's conversation with Shepard didn't necessarily have to be ten seconds out of the fray. Maybe they had a few minutes to catch their breath or something. Or maybe Kaidan's just that badass.

yep that could be true. or we're just thinking too much into it^^

Thinking too much about Horizon? Psh, we VS fans never do that...

maybe the effects on the VS simply were lessened by them wearing armor which is why they unfroze a little early ...
or because of being alliance they went to check out what caused the sounds of fighting from Shep & gang versus Collectors instead of taking care of the people around them because they're friends and family

also keep in mind that where we are at the end of Horizon is where the controls for the cannons are
even if they have dodgy aiming, it's probably still your best shot (<- no pun intended) when there's a giant alien ship looming over your heads

Why would armor have an effect on a nerve toxin? I'm pretty sure it deploys medi-gel to heal your wounds when necessary (the hand-wave excuse for regenerative health in the game), but that's about it.

thanks everyone for the responses to the horizon questions.
didn't intend to open up a can of worms though.

Oh, no attack intended. But several pieces of ME lore look like they were damaged by worms. Or caterpillars. Or thresher maws ('cough cough' asari reproductive system).

Ah yes, the Asari reproductive system.... I have dismissed this claim.

Back on topic: *Sigh* How many times must people discust Horizon, what happened is in the past, its time to move on and look forward to the future. (Note to self Russ, shut up!)

no, don't say it was caterpillars or people will blame Kaidan and his eyebrows for everything they dislike about ME

as for the armor and Seeker Swarms, maybe they're less effective when delivering the toxin then? *shrug*

neck or back, I find it hard to tell, perhaps one has to look on the scene with Ashley to determine where they're supposed to sting in the canon version <_<

also, there were other seekers crawling over Kaidan ... unless those were fangirls in disguise

Kaidan/Ashley broke out of stasis when none of the colonists did because... plot! Or magic! :wizard:

Bwhahahaha. I did a whole rant in my head yesterday about why I can't stand the Asari race and Liara. Seriously, if we can't save every alien races' home planet in ME3, Thessia is not high on my list for saving. (Earth, Sur'Kesh, and Kajhe are at the top.)

As long as it don't turn out to be a crazy plot twist where the collectors for some reason let the VS go on Horizon. If they messed with Kaidan in some way I'll... Well kill some more Reapers! But it sure bothers me that he didn't get taken when those close to him clearly did. :?

*Ignores worries and hopes that time will suddenly fly by* Too long to ME3. Might go for another ME1 playthru :wizard:

There is something about the Asari race *cringes* I don't like, the fact is the more I think about them the more they creep me out and is made worse that they keep make a pass at my Shepard I just what to say them "leave me alone". I swear that Liara on LotSB from the way she looks at Shepard still has thing for him/her even if you said no to her in ME1.

*puts fingers in ears* Lalalala, Kaidan has NOT been infected by something evil from the Reapers that will make you have to kill him in ME3 in order to save the galaxy. If so, the galaxy can just bite it!  I did not stay faithful to the most awesome character ever for something low like that to happen. :pinched:

They wouldn't really dream of doing something like that to the VS, would they?

I share your feelings. Liara scares me on so many levels. I am fairly indifferent to her character, but I dislike the Asari people as a whole. They are touted as so much awesome, but I just don't buy it. *shrug* I know lots of people like them, but I just.....don't. My opinion, though. :innocent:

*clears throat* I'm sure BW won't dare anger the fans to that extent. (I really, really hope)

Haha yeah see how that was not put the right way! I'm HAPPY they didn't take him but I'm worried that they took colonists very close to him cause then they must have been near him too :pinched:

I wote for a meet up at Bioware HQ if the collectors did something to him that will turn out bad in ME3 (and I live in Denmark!). If they kept all Kaidan fans waiting just to do something bad to him in ME3 I'm sure they'll regret it :bandit:

Is it possible to have a Mary Sue race? I think the Asari are it.

Anyways, if in Mass Effect 3, Bioware is like "For those of you that stayed faithful to the VS, you get *tada* Indoctrinated Love Interest! :wizard:", I am gathering a team of angry mob types and we're going to storm into Edmonton with torches and pitchforks. I want to be rewarded for holding out for years, not punished. <_<

I like the Asari
what I find strange is, that usually when there are those long-living species they're more protective of their lives, but young asari often join merc bands during their maiden stage ... if I could live for up to 1000 years or longer I wouldn't risk my life like this ...
I'm also fascinated by their natural biotics and that they don't even consider it something that special and that not everyone will train to use them

as for Liara ... I did playthroughs where I romanced her, and I enjoyed it actually (when not thinking about what kind of pervert would romance someone who is 'barely moer than a child'), but I prefer her as a friend
but I can understand why people think of her like an annoying little dog who tries humping your leg no matter how often you push it away <_<

Ha! Mary Sue race; good description.

I can't believe they would screw us over....but then I think of Anders. :( I will just think positive thoughts until proven otherwise. My pitchfork is already sharpened though, just in case.

That has given me the funniest mental image. Man, I wish I could draw.

Poor Liara, I guess she means well. It's just seems pretty obvious to me that she is a bunch of geek male writers wet dream. <_<
