O.o Hmm running with that theory sounds like Kaidan is going to shoot you in the head or make you kill yourself in the end to end. Shepard=Saren pt 2?
I just don't buy it. Bioware has far too much riding on this game, on this trilogy; far too much to live up to. It is at the heart a story of heroism, and noble sacrifice, and victory against all odds. Yes, there will be pain, and loss, and sacrifices, and almost certainly a twist or two. But I don't think they will pull the rug out from underneath us. I don't think they can afford to, not this time, not in this game.
Exactly. Indoctrination, if overused, will at best tick people off.
As an aside, playing through Horizon now.
Feel like plot-spackling for a moment. One of the team mentioned that the people were frozen for a long time. The Brooklyn mechanic dude was locked in his hiding spot. That hiding spot isn't right near the turret thing, it's a good distance away. Yet, he shows up right at the end of the fight, as does Kaidan. So my thinking is that it's not immediately after the fight, but more like maybe 10 minutes afterward. Reasoning: the mechanic would not have snuck around the grounds while the Collector ship is still present, and possible Collectors present. He may have heard the ship take off, and carefully made his way in Shepard's direction. Kaidan may have been at the other side of the settlement, got unfrozen (either the neurotoxin wore off or the ship controlled the toxin and its departure released control) and made his way to the turret. Even if he was right next door to the turret, factor in the unfreezing and checking his surroundings. So these could explain him being unfrozen after the fight. Not that he was used as indoctrination-bait.
Horizon is a wonderfully confounded piece of work. Poor Kaidan got used as a master piece of bait (yes, I stretched to get that pun in).
Since when has that stopped them.

No, I think maybe the Loyalty could break the Indoctrination on both sides. If we take into account Hale's aforementioned recording session with A/K. Maybe our Sheps are able to talk Kaidan out of something and vice versa at the crucial moment.

(No shooting in the head required). Of course, this is all useless speculation until March... <_< I was going to have such a nice Holiday season, too. *shakes fist at Bioware*
It would be nice for them to go down a different route, but they keep falling back on the Indoctrination. Heck, for all we know, Shep's the spy who doesn't know they are a spy. You know, eyes and ears but no actual Indoctrination. Now that would be fustrating.
