Out of the entire trilogy, which characters would you consider romancing (both male and female shepard only romance acceptable)

Mines, Liara, Tali and Kaidan (See. Bi-omnisexual)

So you mean regardless of preferences? Kaidan, Miranda, Liara, and Sam. In that order. Kaidan trumps all, hands down and I've been going between Miranda and Liara for third place. Sam's cool but she doesn't have a lot of content really. I didn't like Liara at all in the first one, but she got much better.

Well, seriously, i'd still say "yes" though (oh wow, I love a weird conversation in the morning ) just because they made aliens in ME very humanoid - when they say Liara is not a woman, it makes me laugh everytime.
If they had made Garrus look like one of the Keepers or a Rachni, I'm not sure people would still call this a gay romance though

Why do I sense this is MP related? ...

He's from a different planet. For them, male and female may be vastly different than it's here, on Earth.

I don't like the thought of Kaidan without Shepard either.
But there are so many things that time can heal, even if you linger on them.
I wouldn't like Kaidan to feel guilty about falling in love with somebody else, Shepard would want him to get a chance at being happy. It wouldn't make his love for Shepard less valuable or meaningful. He would never forget about Shepard.

Ahah, that my friend, we don't know.
Well at least I don't know.
I didn't make those assumptions about alien genders, ME did That's why i say they're all humanoid. ME assumes all alien races have their sexuality based on the human one as a reference (krogan, asari, turian, quarian), so that's why I feel allowed to make parallels with human sexuality.
But you're right, any actual alien sexuality could totally be something we can't even imagine, and thus, to which gay vs. straight concept wouldn't apply at all.

Although, from little i saw about romancing Tali (with her costume and ports and so on) and from what i heard about Mordin giving some advice about Garrus, I always thought they did a really good job at depicturing this. I don't see Tali and Garrus as romanced aliens, but as an attempt at translating the awkwardness that can happen when you discover another being for the first time and wonder how you're supposed to do it

On a more personal side, the meer existence of Kaidan makes me totally unable to seriously romance any other being, let alone species, but that's what's interesting, the variety of people's tastes, of what they see in those characters.

EDIT> would gladly do a couple of MP runs, but unfortunately, too much work to do  - have fun!

About Garrus, I think they meant since he had a fling with a female turian, he's not gay. He may be bi though. By human terminology I guess. You really can't classify aliens like that though. It's like that conversation with Liara's dad about whether she's Liara's other mom or she's Liara dad.
