Yeah, non-Kaidan romance Shepards get the shaft there in ME2.
Even if we couldn't have Kaidan on the Normandy in ME2, at least an additional email or better yet, a meeting with him just before the sucide mission where he says "good luck" or something would have been touching.

Hard time to decipher Shepard's feelings on this time ^^ Kaidan was kinda clueless when looking at Shepard's unmoving faceThin029 wrote...

@Kunari I think they did this whole thing to stimulate unfaithfulness among players ^^ (3 LI in the game for each gender, how could you cheat on him if he's showing himself all nice and sweet ?)

The other ME1 and ME2 romance options were "meh..." for me, I wanted Kaidan in ME1 and in ME2. I know I'm in a small percentage with that feeling. They could have locked in the ME2 romance before meeting Kaidan again if that was a concern. As it is, it does make the time my Shepard had with Kaidan in ME3 all that more sweet, and bitter, with the burning desire from ME1 and ME2 finally paying off in ME3.

Are we talking about ME2 where Kaidan walks away because my shepard was visibly hurt (femShep) but no offense to the voice actor of MShep is a little flat where as Jennifer has better inflections in her voice.

Kaidan wasn't a romance option for mSheps so they purposfully kept his voice less emotional in that scene.

ME 1 : Kaidan / Ashley are casual romances, Liara is nonsense (I was totally surprised that she could be romanced, she had for me the little sista role, not the sexy lover at all)
ME 2 : Jacob / Miranda are casual. Garrus / Tali sweet and meaningful. Thane / Jack deep and interesting. And fakin good time with Liara DLC - I could swear they would eventually kiss
ME3 : Pursuing your romance is nice. Being able to finally romance Kaidan is heavenly ultimate, couldn't stop talking about that. Steve strange, romancing a guy that you helped to forget his ex. Sam romance is cute and refreshing, but not so well treated (too bad). Liara is just super dupper best-friend-and-more sexy mysterious but devoted woman. Second romance choice for me. But best friend/confident is ifne as well. I just LOVE Liara's character in ME3.
And I don't see burning desire in Mshenko, more something like magic magnet.

I tought the same thing at first. I saw it as renegade romance, something wilder than the other (especially when she asks for casual sex early in the game). But when watching the videos, I understand how desperate she is to find someone that simply cares about her. The numerous wounds her mind suffers. How alone and hopeless she see herself. And how Paragon is Shepard to be the one she was waiting for.Jackie09 wrote...

Much like Thane. But I think Thane deserves better romance. I mean, this character is one of the most epic and stylish I ever seen. Yet his romance has some strange taste of... Hard to say it in english. Something like "still work to be done"

Seriously. You help a guy forgetting about his dead husband. He's just recovered from it. So what do you do ? You become his new boyfriend ?! Don't you feel like some kind of usurpating in the process ? I mean any other guys yes, but Shep... StrangeBeep Il wrote...

His hubby died a long time ago. He already got past it, but he accidentally grabbed the recording with him when the Reaper invasion started. It all came back to him and Shep's merely just making the progress more rapid.
And does it really matter where people find love?

Oh no, Miranda takes the relationship very seriously, more so than any of the other LIs in ME3. Go watch the break-up video and tell me that that women isn't absolutely devastated.

Which my shepard helps him do, all while reminding Cortez that he'll be "loooking at the ladies" because he's homophobic.
Uhhh, back on topic, my shep also reminds Kaidan that he'll be "looking at the ladies".
