Ooh, nice ME1 Kaidans, Mimi.

Confession: I was not really that into ME1 Kaidan at first. I thought he was too young-looking for me and I wasn't sure what Shepard was supposed to see in him. I basically romanced him because I had 0 interest in Liara and because Sbarge (Carth Onasi = first Bioware love).

Then I got to the locker scene, and it was sweet, and then the romance scene was amazing, and I looked back and the whole relationship just fell into place beautifully for me. And I couldn't even bring myself to romance Garrus in ME2 like I was going to. And I now think ME1 Kaidan is a total cutie.

That said, ME3 Kaidan is hawt.

When I heard Kaidan's voice in ME1 I was like ZOMG its Carth and I was in love with Carth in KOTOR so naturally I romanced him. That locker scene is what made me fall in love with bioware's romance story lines <3<3 also my plans for my newest PT:

When I get ME 1 for PS3 probably in Dec (someone told me that the "release date" is sometime around Christmas for the PS3 triology box set) here is my romance playthrough with FShep:
1st: ME 1,2,3 Kaidain going stay faithful to the biotic sex god <3<3<3
2nd ME1 Kaidan ME2 Thane and then ME3 crying back to Kaidan after the Priority: Citadel 2 mission

Actually all box-sets are released on November the 6th.
also ME1 will be released as a standalone game for the PS3 aswel on the same day.

I always love to hear how everyone "met" Kaidan.

I think for me all the conditions were ideal for me to litterally fall for him
I had no idea whatsoever that you could romance a NPC in ME, and wasn't familiar with the dialogue wheel system > my last BW game was NWN.
So obviously, no clue who Carth was either.

I remember when i saw him next to Joker in the opening scene, I was already impressed... and then on Eden Prime > "oh wow, that NPC really looks hot! And he's got a nice voice, too... And he seems so lovely... How can one possibly look so good with a helmet on? "
So just imagine my pleasant surprise when Shepard started flirting with him... It really felt as in real life  

About the trilogy box >>>

Mass Effect Trilogy includes all three Mass Effect titles, featured in a new premium foil box featuring artwork of Commander Shepard.

I'm surprised they didn't think about including something more exciting than a box (oh wow!) and some artwork...
Included DLCs are basic, too... They should have made LI Editions for the Trilogy, with exclusive Kaidan contents - maybe I would have bought it

Mmmmh... so you mean your Shepards are the indecisive type? That your Renegade one for instance likes both Liara and Kaidan? (Just like your Paragon likes Tali & Kaidan?).

Also, Shepards don't actually HAVE to romance anyone I saw some players who remained single throughout the series

Me too, especially since I don't have any interesting story myself For my Shep, it was pretty simple: Sees Kaidan for the first time -> "Well helloooo there"

Well since I started off with ME3... i knew nothing about Shepard's interaction with Kaidan and so forth. But, I am glad that I chose to save Kaidan during the Shepard customization, which gave me the opportunity to find out who he really was further on in the game.
I think he already caught my attention when Shep sees Kaidan at the Vancouver HQ (it must have been that nod and smile ) and didn't really think about it until he came back on the Normandy...

You played FemShep? I never actually made new Shep, still confused a bit about the options in "Combat Loss" screen. I know that for FemShep, Kaidan is "default" in Numerous option but what exactly would be the difference between picking Numerous and Ash (to save Kaidan)?

Yeah, now that i have played the entire trilogy, seeing Kaidan again in ME3 was a totally different feeling It still hurt to hear him say that he "used" to know the commander. it's your fault that you were so mean and angry on Horizon.
As for Mars.. i was just like... "What's Cerberus? Why is he yelling at my Shep?" I had to spend some time wiki-ing stuff just to understand the story. I still chuckle when Liara mentions how capable he has become

Yes I do play FemSHep. I know for sure that in ME2 (without import) that if it's FemShep, Kaidan is the default choice. In ME3, it lets you choose ... since i have a Sheploo that is trying to romance Kaidan

Edit: just opened a new save to confirm, the pyschological profile has the following options:
- numerous (i guess you lose people from ME1 and ME2)
- Kaidan
- Ashley
