Sadly true. As I said before, I was always fairly indifferent toward Liara, but all the 'in your face' stuff is edging me ever closer to hate.

@Chylise, thanks for the FB link. I went and posted "Kaidan" on their wall. Every bit of support helps, right?

Maybe they will learn that as much as they want us to adore her as they do, this wholesale pushing of Liara AND Garrus onto us WILL backfire....  And that will be a real shame....... 
My atittude to Garrus was the same as yours to Liara, tbh... I had no opinion of him and I won't allow him to die, my gamer pride won't allow me to let anyone die ~ that Shepard would be a failure to me.. BUT so help me it is tempting just to see the game without him, same goes for  Tali to certain degree, though I feel as much as the fans have an entitlement complex she has been left out in the cold a bit by BioWare compared to the golden couple.. And truly, I really don't like feeling this way.... Because Liara was one of my go to guys in Mass Effect.. as I said though.. I am just bored of it....

Really? I thought the convention circuit was over. After PAX, I didn't think we'd be seeing any ME3 for a while...

But this is good news! More chances to spot Kaidan! (Fingers crossed, fingers crossed...!) I definitely think we'll see Vega, since Bioware seems eager to promote him. And you know, I think we might actually get some Virmire Survivor love pretty soon, because a while back Casey Hudson asked which character the fans wanted to see in screenshots and advertisements, and his follow-up Tweet to that said something like, "Lots of votes of Ashley and Kaidan!"

So... they know that we want Virmire Survivor. They know that we've been waiting and waiting and waiting, ever since that fateful reunion on Horizon. At the very least, I think Bioware is inclined to show us more of Ashley, and at this point I'll be glad to even see that, because anything we see Ashley do, we can assume that Kaidan will do, too...

Ya know, that whole idea of a popularity contest actually kinda pisses me off. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm making as much fan noise as possible for Kaidan to get noticed, but...whether they continue a character's story, or make it satisfying/happy shouldn't depend on the fan mail, but on the strength of the character's part in the story.

I guess I just really want them to write each character's story to the end and not think so much about who is loved/hated. Those of us who bought the first ME when it was released and played it and adored it....I think we just want justice for the series in this final installment. Some people may hate the conclusion. I think that's probably inevitable.

I think fewer people will hate it if they stay true to the integrity of the characters of Kaidan and Ashley and their importance to the entire story arch. The VS IS IMPORTANT to people that played Shep from game 1. Even those who hated Kaidan and Ashley couldn't deny the integral part they played in fighting Saren. They deserve the same level of storytelling as they received in the first game.

This is medication-induced rambling here, but I think that's my biggest fear: they gave us Kaidan in the first game and let us fall in love, only to snatch him away in the harshest way possible in the second game. I would like to see Kaidan returned in 3 in a way that enhances the story, honors who he is as a character, and if there is a further tragic choice attached to the VS, make it a choice, not a foregone conclusion.

TL;DR, Give Shep back ME1 Kaidan, and all will be set right in the galaxy. The Reapers cannot defeat the dynamic duo.

Oh I know what you mean, I despise popularity contests too, but they're EVERYWHERE, heck, even my grade 8 student council was full of popular people... and me. Guess who did all the work. <_<

Anyway, I'm just hoping expressing the Kaidan love as much as possible will reverse the whole "There's not a lot of love for Kaidan" mantra that Casey seems to have. All characters have fans, and their stories should all be played out to do them justice, not be based on the size of their fanbase.

Anyway, back to casual outfit. I've compiled some reference pics of the new Alliance uniforms styles:


Seems pretty unified, but there are differences. Obviously Vega only wears a short T-Shirt, exclusive to him from the Special Forces unit. Anderson & Shep both have long shirts and vests but both the shirts and vests are different, so hopefully it means Kai will have a unique variation of the unform as well.

I hope Kai gets a tight, sexy t-shirt too.  It'll be hard for Shep to keep hands off him, even with the Reapers everywhere! The only reason Kaidan gets to wear clothes is for his own protection (from me)...

 I like Anderson's hat.  They should sell that in the Bioware store instead of t-shirts with the overused "reach and flexibility" line. (seriously, I hate that line. Calibrations is funny, R&F is tiresome.)

That's why I'm here too. If only noisy fans matter to the devs, then let them look on the Kaidan and Ashley threads and tremble.

Not really. I only came to the boards in January of 2010, and to the Kaidan thread very recently. However, I have been a BioWare fan since the days when KOTOR (I bought it for my sons) and Jade Empire (bought it for me!) were new releases.  It's why I grabbed Mass Effect right when it came out; I already knew and loved BW games. It's never too late to get in on the action though.

Been lurking for a while, was more active back in the old KAAST threads. But eh, moving out and college.

I really do hope we'll get to see more of Ashley and Kaidan soon, I'll agree with that I'm getting a bit tired of just seeing Liara and Garrus, but then, they have been showing the same parts of the game as far as I've noticed, so maybe that's why. Or something.

On another note, gosh the graphics looks good, I didn't realise that until I looked at Vega's casual uniform.

there are times when I willingly poke fun at Casey (like comparing him to one of those 'talking' stuffed toys and depending on what paw you press or what catchword you use in a question he'll just repeat one of 4-5 pre-recorded messages), but I'm not sure he deserves to be hit by the negativity because of that line ... admittedly it was damn insensitive and possibly offensive to a part of the fandom of ME, but still ... maybe he just got careless

I don't expect a reply in all honesty, but still I feel like I can worry less now about it
wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even remember: conventions are a crazy time and wasn't it at E3 the first and one of the biggest?

Well, yeah, the guy who started it was being a jerk, but I totally blame Casey for agreeing with him. If that had been said about anybody besides Kaidan, I'll bet you anything that Casey would've disagreed. He'd've said stuck up for the character in question and said, "There's actually a lot of love for _____!"

That's exactly what he should have said. Something nice and politically-correct. "Yeah," he should have said, "there's a lot of love for Ashley, but Kaidan has fans too!" 

Or pretty much anything except, "There's not a lot of love for Kaidan." <_<
