Pffft, who the heck shares an account with their husband.  (Kidding, I know there's people who do. My husband and I use separate accounts, but we also don't pay for Gold membership). I'm still confused about using shared accounts as an argument though, because even if they had separate accounts, the numbers would still be the same?

And it's the opposite in my house. My husband played ME2 once (I forget who he saved, he doesn't like Ashley and is meh about Kaidan), I've played... *ticks off PTs in her head* five playthroughs of ME2 (I only started playing since like March, I got burned out on my 10 PTs of Dragon Age 2), and Kaidan lived in every one of them.

I never put much faith in the bioware stats as I (along with alot of my friends) always put the no feedback option on - just makes me wonder how many profiles they have info on if compared to how many copies sold! Not that I am in denial about Kaidan apparently being nuked more or anything lol

I know the stats blow because we have had up to 5 Xbox gamers in my house at once and there have been times when only my account was gold/online and so the others didn't get counted at all... Yet the other gamers (even heterosexual males) actually saved Kaidan over Ash... BioWare have no way of collating those figures so they should really shut up referring back to their precious stats all the time they use it like a sticking plaster over a broken leg............ <_<

They certainly didn't get it from my stats either. I *never* Virmired Kaidan. Not once. Poor Ashley wouldn't exist for me at all if not for Genesis...

Poor Ashley isnt in any of my ME2 games.  I got Genesis thinking I would make a m!shep and save Ashley so I didnt have to kill Kaidan and as soon as it got to that part, I thought "well I think my m!shep would love to have a bro", so I wasnt able to save Ashley.

*raises hand* I do... Hubby had an old gold account he let lapse, so I set up the new account in my name and have just kept it up. Our whole family played on the one account until we recently got an xbox for our kids. All the Halo and CoD points on my account? Yeah, so not mine.

I was saying they shouldn't *have* the stats for just that reason.......... see?  Because one person killing Kaidan 100 times against 10 people saving him once does not equal *some love but not a lot* that is one hater, 10 lovers  BUT 90% more Kaidan death... I am saying the stats are false because people will have different patterns. If I play 5 times is my opinion less valid than someone who played 7 times?
So no, I wasn't saying they should only count one, I was saying they should throw their precious stats away and read the forums OR better still ignore the forums and just write a damn good story like we were promised, does that make more sense?

Do you really need a gold membership to have your stats counted?  I thought even free XBL accounts are connected to the internet, you just need gold to play online games on their servers, like CoD and Halo.

While we're on the subject, do you need to be connected to the Cerberus network to have stats counted? Because I never activated mine. Didn't see the point. *shrugs*

It's also possible to fiddle numbers to reflect whatever you want, depending on how you present the argument, so yeah, I am in complete agreement with you.

I think I love you. That's exactly it. I have no idea how Bioware is collection their "stats," but if they honestly think that a majority of players went through ME1 and consistently prefered Ashley to Kaidan, then they are doing a disservice to both characters.

QFT so hard. That is exactly what I was trying to express earlier. They are important to the overarching story. They deserve to be treated as such.

My husband played ME1 3 times - saving 'his bro' Kaidan each time, I have played ME1...oh about 20 times  - I have just replayed all my sheps to make sure they are how I want them  not that I am obsessive and Kaidan only died once for me.

My hubby isnt as big a gamer as me so he uses my xbox although I made him set up his own account

If you look at the replies to Casey's "stats confirm it" Tweet, you can see that a lot of people are actually pointing out that they were defaulted to Ashley with the ME2 male Shepard. I'm actually pretty touched that a lot of manShep players are showing up to defend Kaidan and the skewed stats... Maybe Casey will address it.

Like... oh... I dunno.... not liking the result of a poll, so making it a two part poll, whilst allowing enough people to foam at the mouth at the result that it will completely change in the second part of the poll (which was NEVER meant to be a two parter imo... <_<)

Do these stats also include dead-by-default Kaidan in X360/PC pre-Genesis ManShep playthroughs? <_<

Love it! I hope BioWare realizes it is in big part to their design decision that he's not as much saved as Ashley. Not to mention the huge-ass disproportion between male & female players. In such circumstances, it's a miracle he Kaidan is still as popular as he is.

They should have randomized the VS in non-import/Genesis playthroughs. Sometimes you'd get Kaidan, sometimes you'd get Ashley. Why should they assume that if you're male, you're always save the female VS and visa versa?

I'm sorry, it's midnight here so my brain is a bit fudgy, but on the topic of statistics: I recall that they track how many imported games, so I really seriously doubt that any sort of defaultShepards are counted into the statistics when it comes to who got Virmired.

Well, first he says something about getting mixed signals, and then if you shut him down, he's like "Okay, I was wrong. Won't mention it again", or something along those lines.

Which cued me to stretch out my arms to the screen and go "NO KAIDAN! I LOVE YOU! YOU ARE SO RIGHT!"

*sigh* That's what I get for wanting a single Shepard to romance Thane and not cheat on Kaidan.

Saved Kaidan in 4 of 5 ME1 playthroughs. Had to force myself to kill him once so I had a save with Ash, but it was hard. Not only do I like him more, but he is the more valuable soldier imo. In ME1, at least, the roll Ash fills is just better filled by Wrex.
