I've just started ME2 again, the long dark time without Kaidan.. Did anyone at bioware ever say WHY Kaidan/Ashley was all but left out of ME2?  At the time they didn't know if there would be a ME3 and they just relegated Kaidan/Ashley to a minor cameo appearance.  Was Kaidan/Ashley such an unpopular character that they thought to ditch him/her  for other characters?

 

 

I sure am glad that ME3 came along.

It's a good thing ME2 is good because otherwise having to be without Kaidan so long would be too much to bear.

I don't think they reduced Kaidan/Ashley roles because they're not popular. Seems like it was intended their story would carry through to the next game, so their characters would grow without Shepard. I don't think it would suit both of them to be sympathetic to Cerberus as they're both Alliance loyalist.

 

Honestly, the two cameo scenes; in the beginning of ME2 and Horizon, have a much bigger impact on Shepard's narrative. The absence and rejection carry its weight in through the game. I like seeing Shepard being completely miserable without him. But was quite disappointed that they didn't think to put VS in The Arrival. 

 

but I can't really be mad at him after all the longing looks and "I love you"s that Kaidan gave to my Shepard.. so...

Starting a new playthrough. Whenever someone said Kaidan is awfully nice and boring, here I am ordering him to shoot this guy's leg and he simply nodded with his game face on.

Well, it's obvious that Oscar can do anything.  I'm sure he can do the raspy, breathy whisper voice (sighs and rubs forehead with back of hand).

Kaidan seems to have Luciano's nose and face shape, but Oscar's forehead, eyes and eyebrows and cheeks. Oscar looks more Kaidan's age, too, I think Oscar wins yeah.

 

Overall it's a sexiness overload though, almost too much hot man for a single thread.

As a big Kaidan fan (personally my favourite male human character in the trilogy  ), and someone new to these forums, I do like it that the thread dedicated to Kaidan in ME3 is one that is still fairly active 

 

Plus anything that bridges two of my favourite franchises, Mass Effect and Star Wars, is a bonus.

I think Oscar will make a fine Kaidan when we finally start filming this movie.  But after viewing all these Kaidan beefcake pix,  Oscar better start working out to get ready for all the late night captain's cabin/shower room scenes we'll be adding.   He might take some persuading to participate in what will likely be one of those embarrassing fan made online productions with a bunch of mediocre community theater types in badly made costumes (no disrespect meant to any mediocre community theater types who might be reading this.).
