The whole Siha thing IS all kinds of wonderful. I romanced him once (for science), but ultimately reloaded. His illness was a big reason, I won't lie. It seemed like BW was saying: "Here you go, a nice romance in place of Kaidan, but FYI, he may not be around for long. Kthnxbai!"

I don't begrudge anyone who loves Thane - he's a great character. But my canon Shep's heart was already in a lockbox with Kaidan's name on it. <3

I adore Thane. And he has a sexy voice. Soooo that all makes up for the fact that he's green and stuff. And just imagine the anatomy is the same.

Thane does have a sexy voice, I'll give you that, but I was never turned on by lizards. Those characters (Garrus and Thane) are best friend material for me. Plus, I like the idea of Thane staying faithful to his dead wife; I'm a sap that way!

I have to admit that Thane is the only party member, in any Bioware game, that I flat-out disliked. But I did all the other romance paths, even Jacob's, just to see what would happen, and none of them held a candle to Kaidan's. Garrus's was very sweet but he was never more than a best friend.

I can give Liara a break for giving Shep to Cerberus. It seemed like the best option at the time, and she was desperate.

Yeah...maybe I'm not really into aliens. Even humanoid ones. Or, maybe I actually felt guilty for "cheating" on Kaidan. The whole thing felt off to me. In ME1 there was something...perhaps...about the build up of the romance. Bits of slipped convo....from the very, very beginning (observation view on Citadel in beginning). With Thane...there was nothing until kinda the last minute.

Jacob didn't seem to want to be bothered w/ my FemShep.

I'm excited to meet Vega. Not for the LI potential really, just wanna see what he's about. I'm looking forward to Vega. Besides, Kai will be back and I've gotta be on my good behavior:devil:

Honestly, that all sounded silly to me in LotSB. I think T.I.M. is the big bad and would have found a way to acquire Shepard's body. That's just me though. I guess I can cut Liara some slack.

In the beginning cut scene Miranda uses present tense to say Shepard is out fighting Geth. Then TIM "make sure we don't lose her". Next thing you know...the Normandy's ashes. And Cerberus has Shepard.

My husband is a proponent of this theory.  And it...has merit.  Particularly given the conversation you cite, plus the general manipulativeness of TIM.  The only thing that gives me pause is the sheer likelihood of such a plan going wrong...Shepard could have been blown to smithereens during the attack, or could have made it into an escape pod and lived.  The odds of Shepard dying but being bodily intact are really low in the scenario that played out.

On the other hand, it IS a video game, and certain allowances must be made.  Let's just say if in ME3 we discover that TIM was behind the Collector attack, this household won't be surprised.

I can't shake that feeling, but I don't have anything more than the first convo.....and TIM's apparent ruthlessness to get what he wants. He was constantly putting Shep. in danger. But like you said...the variables! And it was the Shadow Broker that retrieved Shep.s body.  But there's this missing swath of info about the time between that initial convo w/ Miranda and TIM and when the Normandy blows. What was their plan of action if the Collector's hadn't blown up the Normandy?

And why was that very same Collector ship after Shep. for 2 years?

I suspect that there was only ever one Collector ship. The Collectors, being puppets of the Reapers, were likely after Shepard for relatively self-evident reasons. Re: TIM and Shepard's death, that's a fascinating theory.

Yeah.  Except, he didn't want you at any level of dead at that point.  You'd done the one thing Cerberus is all about...Advanced humanity to be part of or the Council.  Showed humans were pretty badarse SpecTres.  It is more likely some Admiral in the Alliance sold you out killing 21 members of the Normandy crew.  You know, someone you pissed off.  Oh, I hope this is the case.  I'd love an excuse to shoot Malkovich.

I think it's because they knew each other before the game started. Their relationship was established, and it felt like they were already attracted to each other. It didn't come out of nowhere. That's why Garrus (almost) worked for me and the others didn't - they had history and it made sense for it to grow into something more. With the others it happened too quickly. They met and then, boom, two days later they're in love.

I recently read an interview with Raphael Sbarge in which he talked about how sexy the Kaidan/Shep relationship was, and compared it to sneaking into the back room to make out and then coming back and saving the world. That kind of sums it up.
