Major Kaidan Alenko in ME3: We're going to need a bigger boot.

(I know that didn't really happen!)
...and I'm guessing I lucked out on not being able to hear Hale's voice during The Priiize scene. O_o
Either way, I'm still confident Kaidan will still be perfectly Kaidan in ME3~ *eyes at her countdown sig* still too long of a wait. >.< Going back to killing time with the scarf/gaming/writing/drawing

hmmm ... who knows, what if you sold LEgion to Cerberus and they took of the armor piece and instead of scrapping it gave it to Liara <_<
it's probably a good thing that so far it doesn't look like Legion will be onboard too long (*cries sad sad tears*), but better than having Liara sneak into the AI core trying to rip that piece of armor off Legion
no wait, I don't dislike Liara I should stop fueling other people's dislike ...
back to Kaidan, now

well, I felt like pointing it out particularly, because the amount of my mShep/Kaidan drawings; people might think that's what I'm after. I do enjoy these drawings by others if the art is good, I admit, but for the romance in ME3, I'd be fine with a cuddle, kiss & fadeout *shrug*
While I doubt Kaidan and/or Shepard lost their sex-drive somewhere along the way I don't want the 'romance' cutscene to turn into some kind of gay porn
but I do want that romance option for my mShep dammit <_<
I do too.
It's not that I don't love Ash with my Sheploo or any of the other female LIs, it's just that Kaidan would compliment my male Shep so well. Much better than any of the other LIs.

I'm holding out hope for an Animal House-style one.
If it helps, I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that David Gaider said that they did gay Anders the way they did (him hitting on you first) as an experiment because that happens in real life, but it sounded like they wouldn't be doing that again. So if the ME team takes any hints from the DA team, I doubt it will happen. At any rate, the relationship between our boy and BroShep has two games' worth of establishment already, and if anyone made the first move after all that I think it would be Shep.

Honestly what I would like to see is a nice happy ending.
Agreed! I enjoy complicated relationships, but I'm still a sucker for a happy ending. Instead of a wedding, though, I see the final scene as something like:
Shepard is in the CIC, looking over a datapad. A voice comes over her radio and says "Ma'am, you have a message from Alliance Command [or the Council or the Shadow Broker]." She enters the comm room to find Kaidan waiting for her. They grin at each other, and he takes her hand as the message begins to play. Cut to the exterior as the Normandy SR-3 zips away toward the distant stars: two Spectres, off to save the galaxy...again.

I didn't mind the Anders setup because it made sense for his character, because he sees everything in black and white. You were civil to him, so you must be interested in him. You're not interested in him, so you must hate him. I'd only have a problem if Kaidan did it because it'd be so incongruous. I'm not one of those "eww get away before i catch teh gayz" people.

Kaidan was always approachable and kind, even when he didn't have anything to say. He was willing to share his experiences in hope of helping Shepard out, even just as a friend. I love that he's not bitter, after everything he's been through, it's made him who he is and he's accepted it and moved on.
It's like pulling teeth just to get to know Jacob. He always came across as abrasive and rude (mostly due to his "already, I'm not big on forcing these talks" line), which for me, makes me not even want to try. He also seems to be kind of bitter about everything that's happened to him (I don't really blame him, but it is just another difference). I tried the romance hoping things would be different, but it was worse, what kind of relationship do they have if he won't even talk to the woman he loves? I liked that he asks Shepard how she is, but it just felt like he was asking to get the focus off of him and he does tell Shepard that he loves her but only after Shepard tells him, leave if he came to tell her that he doesn't want to talk, or something to that effect (it's been a while).
I don't hate Jacob. I just find him really hard to get to know and very different from Kaidan.

I love that about him. It kind of threw me for a loop the first time I played the game, though - usually when you have characters with traumatic pasts you have to spend a lot of time helping them get over it. But whenever he talked about his past he would conclude by saying that it's over and he's already faced it and taken care of it. This broken person came pre-mended.
Honestly, my first reaction when he said that was "Yes! I don't have to be nurturing!", which, um, probably makes me a bad person. But there it is.
Not that I don't like to be a shoulder for my friends or anything. But considering that the pasts of the party members of any Bioware game are a trauma parade, and your default position as team mom/team psychologist, it was nice to skip all that just this once.

I would personally fly over to Bioware and kick down their door!
It's been done to nearly ever "hero" of theirs.
I want an ending

I was happy with KotOR ending, until I saw what happens in KotOR2. *cries*
DA:O/DA:A was good until they decided to add stuff for what I thought would be more DLC but...I know Bioware like open endings so players can decide but I like to be told sometimes. Not sure if that's a bad thing?
I wouldnt mind epilogues text like in DA:O but maybe with images of the characters and Shepard voicing it (not sure if that would work if Shep dies)
Or just a shot of Shepard and chosen LI, well Kaidan for me probably every time just looking out with a cheeky smile and joke how about retirement couldnt come soon enough. or how they have fought the battle of their lifetime. I think my main issue is the chosen hero nearlt abandoing their LI for whatever bad stuff is happening, which works for some people's canon but...I suppose it's all personal taste/opinion and Bioware must have a hard job in creating an ending that will satisfy the majority of people, so I fear I will like whatever they do *thumbs up*

If it were handled competently, I wouldn't have a huge issue with Shepard dying. It would unequivocally end his story, leaving the universe open for exploration without the deus ex machina of "Shepard shows up and fixes everything." Plus it eliminates the possibility of an Alistair in DA2-style fan-****** cameo.
But isn't ME3 the end of Shepard's story completely.

Hopefully it won't be nearly as bugged as the one in DA:O. I can't tell you how many times I would read through the epililouge and be like *possible spoilers* "Wait...Why do the elves suddenly have a homeland, I wasn't Dalish/Why are all the mages dead, I let them live?/ Why is Lohgain venerated as a hero, I killed his ass?!" *spoilers ended* and what's worse is all of those bugs get imported into DA2....<_<

See, the only bug I had with the epilogue was that mages couldn't be freed unless I was a mage and sacrificed myself. And the thing with the Dalish getting a homeland isn't necessarily a bug. If you resolve their conflict peacefully, and Zathrian sacrifices himself, they get their new homeland.

I agree with Mineralica (a little ways back). I don't really find Kaidan and Jacob all that similar. Sure, they both keep to themselves (although Jacob takes it to a whole other level and imo an unhealthy one) and neither of them want or need Shepard to fix them, but that's about it.
Kaidan was always approachable and kind, even when he didn't have anything to say. He was willing to share his experiences in hope of helping Shepard out, even just as a friend. That's my take on it too. I don't find Jacob attractive because he doesn't seem to find my Shepard attractive. He can turn into a good friend, but if he needs to be harrassed to get to that point, I'm not interested in pursuing it.
Kaidan just seems much more approachable, and interested in getting to know Shepard. I don't feel guilty about asking him questions about his background, and he seems genuinely interested in sharing, in order to give helpful advice to Shepard, whether or not you're romancing him. It's much different to me.

Particularly unsurprising now knowing that Jacob and Kaidan have the same writer. If anyone knows who to do an "opposite" of Kaidan, it's Kaidan's writer.

''I think there are a lot of similarities''
Does not mean I think they are alike... it means only that there are some similarities... A re-read of original comment should clear things up... I don't think Kaidan and Jacob are the same....
I said they were both honourable ~ they are. I said the fans were long suffering ~ they are. That was actually all I said about similarities, I then stated that the way dealt with things was different.... that's all I said.. It was never my intention to imply that Jacob was a substitute Kaidan, lol....
And Kaidan is still no.1

Ooooh, I agree.. with everything ~ especially the bit about David GaiderGilsa wrote...
I'm glad I gave Jacob a try because I find myself becoming a big fan of Lukas Kristjanson's writing. He dethroned David Gaider for me actually because while Gaider writes fantastic romances, he also likes to rip our hearts out, too. (Alistair stuck to his principles in Landsmeet and walked away just like Kaidan did in Horizon, but the difference is that Kaidan will come back to meeee! =p) In DA2, when Aveline was awkwardly trying to court Donnic via Hawke, I remembered being impressed when Donnic stood up from the table and basically told Hawke no offense, but he preferred women with more backbone. I adored his character and enjoyed Aveline and Donnic's romance more than any of Hawke's romances (even Fenris, who is my favorite!). Aveline, Kaidan, and Jacob are all characters that don't carry past baggage. They all know who they are and they know what they like. I like how Aveline and Jacob put their cards on the table and make it clear what they expect. I hope Lukas is writing a character or two for ME3!
ETA ~
