There are some snippets of buckling on the armor in Kasumi's loyalty mission. I see buckles in the new armor art, so it's totally plausible (to me) that it can be put on solo. That being said, I like to imagine Shep and Kaidan time in ME3 where they will be helping each other into their armor.

I read a fic once (don't remember which) in which they were going to something formal, and while they talk they look each other over to make sure their dress uniforms are correct, and adjust them, and so on. It reminded me of how I am with my friends/boyfriends and the adorableness of the scene stuck with me. So that would be excellent.

Re: The armor: It's probably not as awkward as it looks. Almost all of it is separate, the only awkward part would be the chest piece, which looks like it functions a lot like the current issue vests. Designs vary, but most sort of clamshell, and have retention and adjustment straps on the sides, by the ribs.

It's uncomfortable and heavy. The current US Army issue IOTV weighs 30-35 pounds, depending on size. Add to that all your gear (ammunition, radios, water, etc.), and the average soldier's combat load is around 65 pounds. I imagine that Shepard goes into combat carrying 80-90 pounds of crap, maybe more.

I agree with Caseshep, that's going to draw some unwanted comments... It worries me.
