Stupid iPhone ate my post...

No, this title is not for real, i'll change it again when I get off the train.

The other title ideas I've seen are way better, and yeah, I don't want to attract negativity unnecessarily.

Yay! Thank you for clarifying. I, for one, appreciate it!

There's a lot of good suggestions here, I like a lot of them! I can't really think of any clever ones myself, but I would suggest that we avoid anything that specifically references femShep, because... well, Kaidan-appreciating manShep fans should feel welcome, too. That's all.

Ones that have been posted that I really like:

-Kaidan Alenko: Now it gets fun!
-Kaidan Alenko: Finally, some action!
-Kaidan Alenko: He has bigger boots.

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: All Horizon Chat, All The Time

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: We Only Like Him For His Hair

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: Nobody Likes Him

Kaidan Alenko in ME3:  Now It Gets Fun!

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: "Way to go, Team Milky Way!

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: Finally some action!!

Kaidan Alenko: SENTINAL POWERS ACTIVATE!

Kaidan Alenko: You've Probably Never Heard of Him

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: He's Got Bigger Boots.

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: "Salute anything you can't eat or kill."

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: "We're going to need a bigger boot."

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: "I prefer... adventurous women."

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: "It will take care of itself one of these days... or nights."

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: He Isn't Going Anywhere.

Kaidan Alenko in ME3:  Finally, Some Love.

Kaidan Alenko in ME3: Some love, but not a lot? We have dismissed this claim

I'm gonna use your post to illustrate what I was saying about the armor. I doubt anyone's gonna mind, because I'm asking you to stare at Kaidan ;). It's not rendered here, because it'd be a silly level of detail to put in a game, but if this were real armor, there'd probably be one or two straps on his side that hold the chest armor together. The shoulder pads are probably attached to the chest. The groin protector is most likely a loose piece of armor attached to the bottom of the chest piece (you can stop staring at his crotch now). Upper and lower arms are separate pieces, as are upper and lower legs, plus gloves and boots.

My guess is that the chest piece alone weighs 50-60 pounds, so 80-90 is a reasonable estimate for a full combat load.

... but Kaidan only weighs 115lbs!  How could he possibly support that much weight?  XD

I can't express in words who much I love that banter.

Also
"Kaidan Alenko in ME3: Always reminding you to RTFM"

or
"Salute anything you can't eat or kill."

"We're going to need a bigger boot."

"I prefer... adventurous women."

"It will take care of itself one of these days... or nights." (FYI that line makes me turn to goo every time)

Me too!! Oh, he's so cute. And love that last one too.
But on a slightly different topic, I suppose that's one of the reasons people ship him and Ash? And the fact that they're foils and "opposites attract" and all that jazz.... I honestly think they're too opposite. Does anybody here like him and Ashley together? If so...offer insight please!

I like "Way To Go, Team Milky Way!" and "Finally, Some Action!"

Action has the double entendre thing going for it. Action it is, for now.

I just wanted to jump in and say I thought Kaidan was a great character that I tried to keep on hand as my "best friend" character since we were both loyal to the alliance, and I had it that Kaidan changed Shepard's attitude on life with his, "Jerks and Saints" speech.

We sort of had a cool bromance going on, emphasis on the "bro".  Since these guys were ultimately presented to us as straight in ME1, I confess I'm going to feel uncomfortable if he just comes up to me to confess he's been in the closet waiting for me since we were first assigned to the Normandy together. No personal problems with homosexuality, I just think that would just come across as a bad retcon.

He's addicted to Buffout. Uh, I mean...
And how can femShep possibly hold all that weight, she's a woman. :pinched:

But thanks for the insights and uhm....images, ChaplainTappman.

That sounds about right. I asked my hubby to estimate how much his gear weighed when he was in the military, and he said probably around 85 pounds.

Kaidan and Ashley are written in such a way that they come across as good friends as well as comrades-in-arms.  Lovers isn't much of a stretch to me, since such relationships can be best built on friendship, and high tensions can push forward romantic emotions that would otherwise be dormant if they developed at all.  In my case, beyond all that, Ashley is almost identical in personality to the earliest draft of my Shepard (who romanced Kaidan... by accident, no less).

It's hard for me not to see them together, and in fact I ship them harder than I ship Kaidan with Shepard.

*blinks* I had no idea such a pairing existed. I could see it though. Maybe. If there were no Shepard. :D

Powerthirst. Lots of Powerthirst.

Army SF (equivalent to N7) troops can be expected to carry 120-130 pounds of equipment into combat. Delta operators (Spectres) can carry more, their body weight or more. I've rucked 120 pounds before; it's not fun, but with the right gear it's relatively comfortable.

It helps that the weight is distributed evenly over the whole body, as opposed to just on the back. It's also worth noting that it's unlikely they'd wear full armor hardsuits for long-term operations, just because it's too damn hot and heavy.
