*blinks* I had no idea such a pairing existed. I could see it though. Maybe. If there were no Shepard.FireEye wrote...

But on a slightly different topic, I suppose that's one of the reasons people ship him and Ash? And the fact that they're foils and "opposites attract" and all that jazz.... I honestly think they're too opposite. Does anybody here like him and Ashley together? If so...offer insight please!
Kaidan and Ashley are written in such a way that they come across as good friends as well as comrades-in-arms. Lovers isn't much of a stretch to me, since such relationships can be best built on friendship, and high tensions can push forward romantic emotions that would otherwise be dormant if they developed at all. In my case, beyond all that, Ashley is almost identical in personality to the earliest draft of my Shepard (who romanced Kaidan... by accident, no less).
It's hard for me not to see them together, and in fact I ship them harder than I ship Kaidan with Shepard.

Thought just occurred to me. One could rationalize that when on Virmire, since both volunteer to take the more dangerous mission for the other, it was a sign of their love for each other, they would always prefer the other survive instead of theirselves, further adding to the idea that they are especially broken up aboard the Normandy, "Why me, why did I lose him/her?"
