I stayed away from Thane on purpose after his loyalty mission cause I was scared the Siha would throw a romance flag. I talked to him once and he called me Siha and I went into panic mode:crying: I ran upstairs and Kaidan pic is still up so I'm sure I'm good.
@Jenova See I never tried to romance Jacob so that is interesting! I don't think Kaidan will make too big of a deal maybe just not really like Thane.
@Sia I'm sure that would be a little weird having a character calling you by your name
@Gilsa @Kawaii I only remember Thane saying it in private so you probably are correct. I had no idea he called guys that as well
@Zombie I have a thing for voices big time. That is why I have to stay away from him..plus his whole story background makes me fall for him.

@Eccentrica Gallumbits In ME1 I also noticed him coming up to you and also looking frustrated when Liara talks to you. So I'm hoping he will just be giving Thane dirty looks. I also agree things should heat up between you and Kaidan

Anyhoo thanks for the feedback. Was just one of those I wonder questions!!

@Silverpearl1977 Just to let you know Thane only calls FemShep siha.

*Bangs head against the wall* I need to see or hear something new to do with Kaidan in ME3.

Has anyone read the new Conviction comic about James Vega?

I've already talked myself out of believing this, but for a moment I noticed a character standing behind Anderson who looks sort of like Kaidan.

He's probably just a random mook bodyguard, but he stuck out to me since he wasn't dressed like the rest of the guys with Anderson.  When you know why Anderson was looking for Vega in the first place, it would be very interesting to see Kaidan there as well...

I don't see it. Which guy are you talking about? The blonde? The guy with the goatie? Or the guy with the grey hair?

Kaidan or Ashley will probably never be in a comic expect for a pre-ME1 comic. The comics try to keep away from ruining canon for us. So anything to do with LIs, the VS, the council, Shepard's gender, etc will never be set in the comics.

Probably not, but I honestly can't tell with this comic style.

If someone doctored the image with one of Ashley, we could pretend though.

I was talking about the guy in the top panel, standing to our left.  The only one wearing armor, not Alliances blues, with a Kaidan-y swept-back hairstyle.  I'm sure it's not him, but I do like the idea of him being there.

And they do talk about "Councilor Udina" in that comic, so they aren't just trying to spare our poor canons, lol.  XD

Udina is Councilor by the time ME3 rolls around no matter who Shep chose. If Anderson was chosen he steps down sometime between Me2 and ME3 and Udina assumes the (Bioware/EA's) "canon" seat.

Technically, in the supplementals, Udina was always Councilor no matter what.  Anderson steps down from being an Admiral in one of the books, since, according to Karpyshyn, he couldn't have "stepped down" from being Councilor.

... or something to that effect.

If they do that is like telling the players that your choices are crap and that you have to do what they consider canon.

And I don't like where that is going...because they are killing the last few things that I enjoyed in the games.

That is why I didn't choose Udina to be a councilor, he's a jerk and ... well, I feel that he's *too* into the political games and that's especially aggravating for me because it's hard to get anything done when you're being red taped to death.

I see what you are saying Leggy, the one wearing armor looks blonde to me though.

Anderson does leave the Citadel in the book, whether he was an Admiral or a Councilor. One could argue that he stepped down from being a Councilor right after ME2, then step down again from being an Admiral during the events of Retribution. Or maybe it was just easier for them to canon Anderson as an Admiral instead of a Councilor in the books. Since he is a major character in the books it would be hard to write around what position Anderson held on the Citadel.

A thought: Something Bioware could have done for the comics, had two of characters standing behind Anderson look suspiciously like Kaidan and Ashley. That way those of us who Kaidan is the VS could pretend its him and those with Ashley could say the other is her. Meh, its just a thought.

It just sucks that though Kaidan has plot armor in ME2, he still could never have his own comic because he is sharing time with Ashley. As it stands the only squadie that can have a post ME1 and ME2 comic is Liara and now Vega. Everyone else could possibly be dead at the end of either game. But I'm sure with ME3 all bets are off and everyone could potential die in the end.

I'd have a bigger problem with it if it were something more substantive, like the fate of the Council in ME1, or who the VS is. If they have to finagle Udina into the Councilorship for the purposes of telling a more focused and cogent story to start ME3, so be it.

And I don't think your choice has no effect whatsoever. Anderson, even though he doesn't have patience for the political game, is a much less confrontational Councilor than Udina. I mean, we have no way of knowing until release, but it's possible that'll have an effect, even if Udina has to be Councilor to start the game.

Also, I thought the dude standing behind Anderson was Kaidan, too. So it's not just dyed-in-the-wool Alenkophiles.

I got so worried about ninjamances and screwed up romance flags that I usually ended up scarcely speaking to any potential romance character until after the suicide mission in ME2. Kinda sucks, but I didn't want to hurt their pixel feelings by shutting them down. Thane never got the chance to "Siha" me. :P

Okay, I'm sorry but this really p*#$% me off. I mean what the heck was the point then of letting you choose? And I'm also a little tired of all this extra story crucial to the video games being parced out in comics, books, etc. Spending $60+ on the game itself isn't enough? In order to understand why Liara was so obssesed with the Shadow Broker I now have to buy a comic? I don't have any issue if all this extra stuff was simply different stories in the same universe, but plots actually important to the games? Ugh. /rant

Like said before Anderson resigns no matter what position he is in, Admiral/Council. He has more important things to do, like shoot Kai Leng in the legs, make-out with Kahlee, recruit Vega, and help Shepard escape the Reapers.

By since this the Kaidan thread...

Actually, I wonder if Kaidan and most of the old ME2 squad will get along.

This has probably been answered before and I can't remember.
But, if you choose the "This isn't the time" option before Ilos, and therefore not consummate the love, is the romance still flagged for ME2? Does Shep still hug Kaidan on Horizon and see his picture on Shep's desk?

"You a Shepard lover, Human?" lol. Apparently, thems fightin' words these days.

Ah, but Kaidan. I wonder if he was in the Batarian Hegemony area when Shep blew up that Batarian colony and star system? When I was checking out the Conviction comic it made me wonder how Shep's actions would affect other humans bouncing around the galaxy.

I also remeber hearing that the Council was sending a Spectre to ...do wateva..in the Batarian Hegemony with their terraforming/WMD.

It could be any Spectre. There about 100 of them speculates the Alliance? However, I figured since the Galactic News thing brought it up, it was probably a relevant snippet to Shepard's story. In other words, it was probably Kaidan.

Things would be very awkward for Kaidan if he was in the middle of a bunch of Batarians when the news hit.

Thanks Mandalina! That is my absolute screen shot of them together. ME1 romance scene well forever be the standard I hold all other romance scenes to. Soft blue light, slightly blurred, and Shepard is on top... :wizard:

@ how Kaidan, Vega, and the rest of the squaddies will get along, these are my ideas.

Kasumi - I think they will get along very well. Both can do the snark epically.

Thane - Mutual respect for each other's skills. If Shepard is with him, I think both men will be more angry at Shepard then each other.  Thane would have little or no knowledge of their past relationship.

Miranda - Wow this one will be interesting. On one hand I can see them getting along very well. But on the other hand I can see a lots of arguments on the 'right way' to do things.

Legion - Probably a lot of curiosity. "Shepard why is there a Geth talking to us?"

Zaeed - This one I have no idea really.

Jack - Whoa Nelly! I want to see this one so bad. I bet Jack will do everything in her power to get Kaidan angry and it not work.

Tali - I see their relationship staying pretty much the same it was.

Samara - Probably the same as Thane, mutual respect.

Mordin - Spawn thousands of laughs.

Jacob - Depending on Jacob's attitude toward the Alliance post ME2 and and if Shepard cheated. But other wise I say great.

Liara - This is the one I want to see the most. Will Kaidan know that it was Liara who gave Shepard to Cerberus? This relationship will be interesting to see at the very least.

Garrus - I also can't wait to see this one. Let me first make it clear I freaking love Garrus. But I think regardless of if you cheated or not their is going to be a verbal fight between them. I can see Garrus saying that Kaidan abandon Shepard when she needed him most. And Kaidan possible being jealous of Garrus being there with Shepard. (Romanitc or not)

Vega - Kaidan might see Vega as a kid from what I seen from the comic. To rash and impulsive.

Grunt - Probably snarky remarks back and forth. Or at least I hope.

Wrex - Kaidan will probably be pleased to see Wrex doing something good for his people and Wrex will wonder why Kaidan hasn't got Shepard knocked up yet... then again that might just be my head canon.

@Caseshep, Yes, if you get the locker scene and Kaidan goes to Shepard's quarters the relationship is flagged.

The wiki says yes. (I have never done it, Shepard needs her Kaidan sexytimes)

Ugh, I seen a thread from another forum saying how horribly boring Kaidan is. :crying: Maybe it's just me, but I usually end up despising most of the female characters and loving most of the males in almost any medium. I don't know what it is... maybe because I think the way a lot of female characters are portrayed makes me want to beat my head against the wall. Or maybe it's because I'd rather have a "bro" character because most of my friends are male?

Oh yes, Kaidan. NOT boring. Any money that if he was a Turian or something with the same personality, he would be praised as the "awesome dude bro character" like Garrus is.

There is a severe lack of Kaidan/anyone bro pics. *is sad*

EDIT: And of course I got ToP:
