I tend not to hate characters, but I do agree that most female characters tend to be annoying to me while male characters seem to be more or less tolerable. It might be the overuse of certain female character archetypes on Bioware's part. I don't think I ever want to see another ice queen.

@ how Kaidan, Vega, and the rest of the squaddies will get along, these are my ideas.

Kasumi - I think they will get along very well. Both can do the snark epically.

Thane - Mutual respect for each other's skills. If Shepard is with him, I think both men will be more angry at Shepard then each other.  Thane would have little or no knowledge of their past relationship.

Miranda - Wow this one will be interesting. On one hand I can see them getting along very well. But on the other hand I can see a lots of arguments on the 'right way' to do things.

Legion - Probably a lot of curiosity. "Shepard why is there a Geth talking to us?"

Zaeed - This one I have no idea really.

Jack - Whoa Nelly! I want to see this one so bad. I bet Jack will do everything in her power to get Kaidan angry and it not work.

Tali - I see their relationship staying pretty much the same it was.

Samara - Probably the same as Thane, mutual respect.

Mordin - Spawn thousands of laughs.

Jacob - Depending on Jacob's attitude toward the Alliance post ME2 and and if Shepard cheated. But other wise I say great.

Liara - This is the one I want to see the most. Will Kaidan know that it was Liara who gave Shepard to Cerberus? This relationship will be interesting to see at the very least.

Garrus - I also can't wait to see this one. Let me first make it clear I freaking love Garrus. But I think regardless of if you cheated or not their is going to be a verbal fight between them. I can see Garrus saying that Kaidan abandon Shepard when she needed him most. And Kaidan possible being jealous of Garrus being there with Shepard. (Romanitc or not)

Vega - Kaidan might see Vega as a kid from what I seen from the comic. To rash and impulsive.

Grunt - Probably snarky remarks back and forth. Or at least I hope.

@Caseshep, Yes, if you get the locker scene and Kaidan goes to Shepard's quarters the relationship is flagged.

Oh I don't hate characters either (how can you have such a strong emotion against something that's not even real?), but most females I end up facepalming at. I think the only one I've liked in ME/DA so far was Kelly.

But it's not just Bioware, it's everything. My husband had me watch season 1 of Fringe and I couldn't help thinking it would have been better with a different lead character, because Olivia grates many of my last nerves. The only female character I really like on Vampire Diaries is Caroline. Most females on Supernatural are there only to let Sam and Dean "get some". It just makes my brain hurt, I feel like a reverse sexist or something, and I don't mean to be.

Same for me. But I attribute it to the fact that in real life, I generally get along with males better than females. Girls can be really superficial, and I just feel more comfortable around guys. ME Female Characters GO:
I didn't like Miranda at first because I thought she seemed shallow and stuck up (even though I know she's genetically perfect, blah blah blah), but I've read things that have changed my mind, especially after LotSB. And I started watching Chuck and I really like Yvonne Strahovski.
Once you get past Jack's temper, she's pretty cool. I like her bluntness and "take no sh*t" attitude.
I think Ashley is a good character, but something about her didn't really click with me.
I liked Liara alright in ME1, and didn't like her in ME2 at all.
I think Kelly is nice, but annoying..
Tali and Kasumi are my favorite female squadmates though because they're so easy-going. Favorite non-squadmate is Gianna Parasini though. I f*cking love her.

But my favorite characters overall are all males. Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, Legion, Joker and Mordin. Kasumi is next on the list, but I wish she had more dialogue depth.

My dream team will probably be Kaidan and Garrus, you know for the just like old times thing and cause I woves them both so much. I think I will try that for at least for my first play though. But I think Kaidan and Vega is going to be a barrel of fun.

Vega rips something off the wall and beats bad guy to death with it, Kaidan asks him if he has been doing testosterone shots again.

Team Sentinel with Kaidan and Miranda will probably also be insanity fun. Or Team Rearrange Furniture with Kaidan and Jack, mother of god... There is many combos with Kaidan that will be just sick to try.

an interesting experiment, someone drew a male version of Miranda and a female one of Jacob, describing their personality pretty much the same as they are and those two with the swapped genders are a lot more likeable

coming to think about it, I probably wouldn't like Kaidan as much if he was a woman: wouldn't dislike 'her' either, but it's just ... you can't replace one part of that package and expect it to be the same *shrug*

I love female characters, if they're done right. Bioware generally does a good job with them, because they're good at creating people with layers and not relying on tired archetypes. (Case in point: Bulletstorm's Trishka. She was an awesome badass and I loved her...but then they gave her daddy issues. Really, PCF? Really?) Dragon Age 2, for example, has fantastic female characters. Even Isabela, who I expected to be pure fanservice, turned out to be one of my favorites. She's tough and hilarious, and, best of all, she's genuine friends with other women and tries to help them out. My biggest stereotype peeve is the notion that women are all in competition with each other and don't like each other.

Errr, topic: I would love to see him interact with Zaeed. I don't know what would happen, but I bet it would be funny. He and Miranda would argue quite a lot, and I think that would be entertaining too. But mostly I want to see him with Garrus, since Garrus is intensely loyal and stuck with Shep through everything, and he probably has some words for the person who was supposed to love her but abandoned her when she needed him. I don't necessarily see it that way, but I suspect Garrus would.

Also, I 'm curious to see what his relationship with Joker is now, considering that Shep's death was at least partially his fault.

I can see him having a problem with Kelly actually
in the sense that she was probably all over his personal files and what Cerberus has about him and tries to analize everything and offers to be there for him etc. but Kaidan has come to terms with the crap that happened on Jump Zero and doesn't want to be reminded about it by the people person who thinks he's still has problems with it *gg*
and if he tries to tell Kelly it's okey for him, she'll probably ramble on about denial and the first step is to accept what has happened ... what he did, she just doesn't get it

@how Kaidan will get along with past characters the most I'm curious about is:

Miranda-I'm @ the part in ME1 where Kaidan basically says he likes the commander cause she is beautiful and confident but doesn't go around flaunting it. Which Miranda has a bad habit of telling everyone how perfect she is. So they might get along if she doesn't go around bragging about how perfect she is.

Garrus-This one is going to be sooo interesting especially if you romanced Garrus cause well Garrus can throw in his face that Kaidan wasn't there for Shepard and he was. If you didn't romance Garrus I still agree there is going to be  some verbal exchange of disapointment.

Liara-This is another one I really, really want to see. I can see both Liara side and Kaidan side. Kaidan though jeez if your with him and she doesn't even let him know for 2 yrs:unsure: At least she had some kind of hope where she let him greive. I really hope I get the option to say this is between the two of you. I don't want to be stuck in the middle of this argument. I would tell Liara that she should of said something to Kaidan seeing how we were together. I really want ME3 to come out now!

the question is ... if Garrus' posse wouldn't have been eliminated, would he really come with you or think that his fight on Omega is more worthy?
Would he really abandon the work he does on Omega to go chase after the Collectors who abduct human colonies? The Collectors are pretty much a myth, admittedly the Reapers are even more of a myth, but did Garrus follow you because he believe the story on the Reapers or because he wanted to bring Saren down and because he didn't like C-Sec regulations

Garrus has quite a lot of talent and the SB dossiers suggest as much, also that he probably won't grow to his full potential while under Shepard's command, so ... would Garrus' ego allow him to return to the spot in Shepard's shadow if he still sees having a task to do on Omega?

I still think Kaidan had a point on Horizon with the whole "what if Cerberus is using a Reaper threat to manipulate you" ... we knew about the Collectors by then, but not about their connection to the Reapers

I don't see everyone of ME1 squad doing it, I however can imagine Liara, especially after her slight personality change doing that. Not a real fight but at least one argument. 
I could also imagine Garrus, though for him not  an argument, but perhaps a little distrust. 

For me, I'd rather they b*tch at each other a bit than to not address the matter at all. At least for those two. Also, I do think the character's still can have each other's back, whether they like each other or not. They can be professional about this, right? If I remember correctly, Wrex and Garrus didn't get along all that well. (might be wrong on that one though, I'll admit)

Anyhow, I wouldn't be THAT broken up if they don't address this at all.
What I want to be addressed is the issue with Joker.
I don't need a fight, because, in my headcannon, Kaidan blamed Joker for Shep's death a long time ago. Maybe a scene in that Kaidan apologizes for something like that.

Honestly, I don't see Kaidan blaming Joker. Maybe when Shepard first died he might have went off on him, but almost immediately he would apologize for lashing out. Similar to Joker lashing out at Shepard for not being on the Normandy when the Collectors took everyone. However, I see Joker blaming himself. I've always wondered if Joker joining Cerberus was less to do with him being grounded and more to do with paying back Shepard.

I kind of want to see Kaidan take a little bit of crap for Horizon, not because he deserves it but I want to see Kaidan smart enough to defend and explain his actions under fire. I don't see Shepard having to step in and break up any argument that might be going on, still will probably happen though.

ME3 is going to be very emotional, the crew is going to be highly stressed. When put in a confined place with that level of tension there is going to be arguments even over the littlest things. It will be interesting to see who is going to be the bigger adult.

Fighting or snapping at each other usually isn't very professional. Your mileage may vary, of course.

To clarify: I prefer a squad that works professionally together. One of the reasons why I avoid bringing certain squadmates together (DA2's Fenris, Sebastian, Merrill and Anders, for example).

Personally I think that Liara didn't say anything because she really didn't think it would work and she was ashamed that instead of seeing Shepard be properly buried she handed the body to Cerberus. Not something I would tell a soul myself.

Who I had the WTF? over was Garrus/Tali ... They both know Ash/Kaidan and if your Shepard was in a relationship with them on the Normandy why isn't this mentioned? Tali is all over my Shepard who was with Ash and while I thought it was cute my Shepard & I thought, "Ash would kick both our butts you crazy little minx." So he smiled and backed away.

Kaidan the same thing ... cheat with Garrus? Cold on both parts. A discussion on Kaidan should have been added between Shepard & Garrus in the cabin along with Shepard & Tali. Oh, well.
