Yeah, I agree somewhat, but his attraction to Rahna doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like men either.
I don't know if things have changed that much though. I mean, there aren't any references to s/s male relationships in the game, that I know of. All the strippers in the clubs are women. The way Garrus says "cross-species intercourse," and some of the human crewmembers reactions to aliens in general makes it seem like it's not a norm...
Except with Liara, but that's different because all Asari are "female," and humanoid. :/
I don't know, to me it seems like BioWare just kept all current social conventions.
