why do I get the feeling that ever since Casey's "There's some love for Kaidan, but not much." got clarified and he's no longer the boo-man we can all hate on, people in this thread are at each others throats all the time ...
I'm tempted to tweet Casey again, asking for a statement that can be misinterpreted, re-establishing him as 'the common foe' <_<

Casually ignoring the whole debate because you know what, I believe that being at each other's throats is rather divisive and we should really ought to unite in our shared love for Kaidan and continue to support him.

Kaidan support? :o

You must've misread, Xilizhra. I don't think either Red or myself were meaning to imply that additional content would ruin the potential of the faithful romance.

No, I mean them taking the time to work on it wouldn't take anything particularly large away from you..

I'll try to make this clear as possible, IF they can make the romances unique and make them feel special then I'm all for it. IF they can't then don't.

This is basically how I feel about the issue as well.

+1
There would be nothing more disappointing than for BW to attempt to be a jack of all trades and end up being master of none. Letting Kaidan fans down across the board would certainly be "fair", but it would hardly be a satisfying outcome. I'm going to continue to try to be rabidly optimistic that we will all get what we want in the end. (then cry salty tears if we get the shaft)

I wasn't saying that it would. I was simply saying that I want each path to be unique and well-written.

I'll join, I did contribute to the debate but alas it was invisible :P

I'm no good with this stuff anyway.

Odd, I thought you were against the concept of putting words into other peoples' mouths.
However, unless the romance path retconned elements out of the past two games, nothing could be taken away from you in any case.

I wasn't saying that it would. I was simply saying that I want each path to be unique and well-written.

There are only a couple of really awful romances, so in general, I have faith in Bioware on this.

This, I'm just concerned that it won't. I can't see how it will work and work well. Its a pessimistic view, I know. But its something I'm use to when it comes to Kaidan and his 'not much love.'

LOL!!! First game I played was PONG on our Atari back in '75-76 with my brothers. We could play that game for hours. And yes, I am avoiding the debate as well.

Ahahahahah! I didn't even see this before I posted my Pong pic. Um, fistbump? :P

Then that is where we disagree because I don't. We'll see though, and I'll be more than happy if I'm wrong about this.

I'm not sure how completely new romances (whether o/s or s/s) with new characters are better for the established romances as far as resources are concerned. They'd have to take the time to create completely new content for this new character's romance and that also takes away from developing romances for the established characters.

If they'd make Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara available for the 'new' players (whether o/s or s/s) there are possibly some resources from the established romance that could be reused, freeing up more time in general. If anything, it would make more sense (to me) to protest the introduction of new romances with new characters like Vega or some new asari, etc. as these completely remove time and money away from the old romances.

I didn't.  Asking a question for clarification is putting words in your mouth?

Very well. I consider the dilemma false and the idea that you'll "lose" anything fallacious.

How could anyone lose anything in the first place, unless ME3 retconned away parts of your old romance path?

Ignoring the S/S debate *whistles*

Commenting on the whole gamer girl thing form pages past:

To be honest, as a girl who works at one of those stores, the women that do come in, aren't gamers. I'm even surprised when a girl gamer comes in to buy things and I am one! More often than not, it's a mom or a girlfriend that I have to explain everything to. It's just how it is. If there were more women who would come in and knew wtf they were talking about, I wouldn't be as surprised. The sad thing though is there isn't. And it seems even girls believe the stereotype of it's a guy hobby. The most type of girl gamers we get in are for the wii. The casual gamer girls who play Zumba and Dance games. But when I do find a girl gamer, one that actually treads into "boy" territory, my eyes get watery and we suddenly have a wordless bond of appreciation for one another. Then i check them out and they leave. BUT FOR THAT ONE INSTANT, We're sisters for life.

Also suprrisingly, of the girls I have met at work, that do play mass effect, no one likes kaidan :( I'm going to blame it on the geographical area i'm in.

Heh, they might still do that.  I meant lose/have shortened/cut out/get less effort put into anything in ME3.  That's the idea I object to.  And that somehow, those of us with established romances should be OK with this.

I doubt it. Actually, both VS' have been set up very nicely for new romances, probably moreso than the ME2 ones. You'll need to spend time mending fences with them after Horizon even if you romanced them already, and in such a spot new romance potential could be added. It wouldn't be so difficult.

I am ok for the romance s/s but I prefer (it's just my opinion) for the femshep the romance with Kaidan is hetero and bi for male shepard, I don't want the same dialogue please !

Or maybe, the devs have writing a new history for romance s/s and romance for new character. I hope you understand my poor bad english.

I hope you're right.  I have a single Shep that I've struggled to get through ME1 & 2 just for a chance at a new relationship with either Kaidan or Joker.
