Yeah, OK. How about the posts that judge everyone with a "cheating" Shepard as a bad Kaidan fan? How about those who assume it's a fault on the player's part or her morality for playing that way?
When this can be discussed without judgement on the players, then I'll contribute. Otherwise, I've defended my "Cheating" Shepard dozens of times over and over and with walls of text and in fic. But still there exists some judgement on the part of the fans that people like me are fans in name only.
So, no, until that time comes, I probably won't be contributing more to the "cheating" discussion. Seeing as every single time I have done so, I personally get flamed for a role-playing decision.
If this is directed to me, I'm really confused, because I thought I was clear in saying that I understand that different people play their games differently. I just wanted to give a different perspective, since a lot of times it seems like it has to be "cheating" OR "moving on" for everyone, and can't just be defined on a case by case basis for each Shepard.
I was replying to someone who didn't seem interested in continuing the Kaidan romance in ME3. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if someone romanced Kaidan in ME1, started a new romance with another character in ME2, and thinks that their character's relationship with Kaidan was over and done with, then they probably did like their ME2 LI better than Kaidan. I don't see how that's condemning anyone as a "bad" Kaidan fan...there are plenty of people who like Kaidan, but he's not their favorite character in the series.
I'm also aware of your different playthroughs, and I think it's great, and the way you flesh out each of your characters is the way I like to. Also as a DA2 Anders fan who had two VERY different outcomes for him with my two "main" Hawkes, and feels unwelcome in the Anders Support Thread most of the time because I'm a Bad Fan, I get it.
I really don't want you to think I was being snarky towards you, or anyone else who has a ME2 LI playthrough, at all.

Would it be too much to ask that in our efforts to be respectful of Kaidan fans that we are also respectful that some of us are reading/posting from public and/or work computers, and the nsfw pics and topics inhibit us from being able to participate?
Nobody posts NSFW pics here directly, at worst cropped previews are posted with link to full versions. And if your boss catches you wasting your time on a video game forum, he won't really care if you had shirtless Kaidan or weapon stats pic on.
Okay...this is a pet peeve of mine. I'm an adult, working in an environment where my supervisor is fully aware that I use the internet on company time. I *really* dislike the strawman, when people post NSFW pics, that no one should ever look at the internet while at work. That's not the point, and most employers in corporate environments would prefer that I was on a video game forum instead of reading a book or knitting, or something else more conspicuous, when the work flow gets light. In any case, it would just be nice to be more inclusive, and highly suggestive cropped pics are more likely to make people back out of the thread.
