I didn't know about the romances when I played and tbh Mass Effect was the first RPG I played with a romance. The game I played the most before ME was Oblivion, and there were no romances there (but I heard Skyrim will have them, I, for one, am not really caring about that). I played the whole game, paragon and being nice to everyone, the next thing I know... Liara and Kaidan are asking my Shepard to choose. Long story short, Liara was history.

The next thing I know, I'm playing again and again. I have always been a member of the Elder Scroll boards (way back from Daggerfall... you can still find me there, Nightodie of course) But I never spent time on the boards more than finding answers usually to technical problems.

Then I found this board. I was into Kaidan, but I wasn't quite obsessed yet... then I found the first KAST... and I read what you guys wrote... and I played again ... I was hooked. Kaidan had stolen my heart.

No matter who comes along in the future, Kaidan will always be my first (pixelated) love. He will also be the man that got me into writing. I'm not always sure that's a good thing. (today might be a not day).

Of course, I fell in love with all of you, too.

You're all addicting.

But not like planet scanning I hope 

I didn't realise you had played Mass Effect *innocently, iyswim, Night.... what a delightful surprise that must have been

I love Sky's voice.  Cam Clarke could read my grocery list and I'd turn into a puddle.

Of course, I'll say that about almost any Bioware game male LI (Carth/Kaidan, Alistair, Anders, Fenris, Sebastian), they pick such fantastic voice actors most of the time.

I think I read somewhere that Obsidian doesn't like to do romantic subplots for some reason or another. Didn't they try with NWN2 and people grumbled?

Regardless, I <3 Atton, he's my favorite LI-type character. I thought his VA was great, but I've never heard him in anything else.

I never really liked Carth "ohh so much I totally love him!". He did irritate me sometimes and I preferred Atton much more. Raphael was great of course as Carth, but if the writing of a character ain't up to my taste, then even the best voice won't help that much. Kaidan's a combination of great writing and amazing voice performance that makes the whole package so appealing to me.

I liked him because he had a lot of humour and I think he adores the exile...  
I still like Kaidan best of all though, no issues, manly and good looking, a voice to incinerate your undies and just an all round hottie

Kreia was amazingly well written and I think she is amazing 
I think no Kaidan or Ash in the movie will be a good thing, tbh.... I do not want them to Virmire either of them, but let's be honest if they did it would be Kaidan........

Well, I'm glad it's a new story rather than a retelling of the ME stories but in that case, why not leave Shep out entirely? At this point, it'll have to be a damn good story and really well done for me to see it.

I would do that too, but it's the most family friendly of the movies, and my son ADORES Indiana Jones (no, he has never seen The Temple of Doom, even if it's censored on tv).

There are no movies after Alien and Aliens, however.  I sure would like to find out what happens to Ripley, Newt and Hicks one day, because NO OTHER MOVIES WERE MADE IN THIS SERIES AFTER ALIENS.

On another note, I am another Atton lover.  I totally have a head canon for my Exile and Atton after the game.  It involves much less Pazaak.

Yep, I think the same way about Aliens and my husband is insistent that there were never any sequels to Highlander.

Nope. The first movie didn't have any characters from the games at all.

The second one attempted to put more of the game characters/groups into the story (Jill, Carlos, Nemesis, the S.T.A.R.S.), but they basically just used their names and not their personalities, so I haven't bothered watching the other two movies, because I didn't want them to butcher my favorite RE protagonist (Chris, he was in the third movie).

I liked the first two movies, but IMO, they should have changed the title and not bothered to try and insert anything about the games into them.

I'm going to combo break on the Atton love...no slight to anyone else...but I did not like him at all. I was remotely interested in Mical and very in Candy, though. My BFF adored Atton. That may have been part of the problem. I have a strict hands off when it comes to who my BFF likes and apparently it even includes pixelated boyfriends.

@graceyn...nice manip. That's an expression I haven't seen on Kaidan's face before. Interesting.
