Hey guys! I know this issue has been pressed many times over, but I recently played ME2 again, and I realized how realistic the horizon scene was. I had been so brainwashed into believing what other people had thought of it that I forgot to look at the facts.
Shepard and Kaidan haven't seen each other in years.
Has much as I hated how it played out, I actually gave a good ear to what Shepard said in the paragon responses and it made complete sense. "I didn't want to reopen old wounds."
I think p BioWare was taking the realistic perspective of a maybe-one-night-stand. After all Shepard is a p mostly predetermined character that we merely guide. Anyway this as been on my mind and felt I should finally share it.
Never had a problem with Kaidan's responses, seriously, after what he and Shep saw Cerberus doing in ME1 I wouldn't want work for Cerberus either. Not to mention Shep didn't bother informing Kaidan about the little fact that he's alive. The problem with Horizon is BioWare's writing. They've forced Shep to be a jerk, even in Paragon options. "Hey Ash/Kaidan, yeah, been some time, yeah I didn't bother calling" is hardly a paragon response. Not being able to call VS and Horizon responses are of course part of the plan to keep VS alive for ME3 by making them impossible to recruit for SM, but I think it could've been done better.
*nods in agreement*
(I know you meet up Liara/Wrex/VS later and ask them to join you, but you don't actively seek them out. And Tali/Garrus you actively recruit only because TIM gives you their dossiers.)
The Illusive Man stated he didn't know where Garrus is. He dropped off the map. Do you think he would actually let Shep have Garrus if he knew he was Archangel? Garrus is pretty much Shep right hand man most the time. He had a hard time with Tali as well.
LadyofRivendell quote:
I agree, Shep should have at least tried to contact everyone important.
But I also think Kaidan should have heard her out instead of walking
away angrily. I know that if I had been in his position and saw the
person I loved back from the dead, I'd at LEAST hear them out before
walking away. Heck, I probably wouldn't even walk away.
They could have done a lot better with Horizon... Just saying.
I thought about this myself a lot! Kaidan though has always held back his feelings and has always tried to be in control. I think his feelings overwhelmed him. Plus the whole men aren't suppose to cry. Maybe he was trying to get out of there as fast as he could before he might actually cry. *shrugs*
