He does have hair on his model-- it's just hard to see in the dark with blue lighting. :P FireEye's posted good pictures that does show the hair.

Glad we are all in agreement.

I don't know what it is with the media fantasy of an all shaved man these days.
Real men have hair lol.

I agree with the... um shower.. pic.

Nope, everything is rather old - "We've finally figured out how to make hair look properly" at Earth demo and "With new hair textures, you may customise your Shepard as you wish" in new femShep discussion. Plus popping up from time to time promises that player will be able to change Shepard's hairstyle while importing save.

But my dirty minds caught "better hair in ME3" and current chest hair - oriented discussion, concluded that chest hair are also hair and proceeded to evaluate the implemention of this detail in actual game... I'm rather ashamed by this thoughts...

Love for Kaidan aside, that was one of the most well-written fan pieces I've read in a long time.

Made my work look like ****** but that's not important.

Her writing makes makes everyone else's look like that, don't worry about it.  All the rest of us can do is keep writing, and revel in her amazing gift.

Ha, who are you kidding? It will be fully clothed cuddling romance in ME3.

Not that I desire full nudity either. Somewhere there is a happy balance

And this was suppose to turn provocative either. Well maybe? I aimed it more of a social debate on the stance of completely shaved men in the media. Really think it demasculates them...

I more see it as a woman's revenge lol. Is my judgement fair, naw. But I am a guy and therefore bias ha

I would go THAT far especialy since personaly i havent' been able to get into her story, the pace is slow, and I had multiple issues with innitial characterisations.  granted, the writing improved, but its not some pinnacle of fanfiction to end all fanfictions.  I've read better from several members of this very thread.  I'm guessing you are just being over enthusiastic in your praise but you are also belittling down a lot of other fantastic writers with it.

Everyone enjoys different things and has different tastes.  I respect that you find it slow.  Personally I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I'm not belittling anyone.  I would love to see all of us receive that kind of encouragement.  Heck, I would LOVE it if folks were as enthusasitic about my fic.  That doesn't keep me from appreciating akg's or yours or anyone else's fic for that matter. If I don't enjoy something I'll certainly say so  -directly and privately to the author - but I don't feel the need to squash anyone else's sqeeing over it.

Why can't just be ok to enjoy and squee over different stories, different pictures or whatever and to be able to say so without being labeled?

Well, swimmers have to shave for swimming, obviously. Some guys actually don't have very much chest hair while some look like Austin Powers shag rug (eek) --

As for the Media, I'm not sure why men are clean shaven (one notable example is that Shatner had to shave his chest for a scene in Star Trek), but I've noticed that Body Builders tend to be clean shaven (but the masses of muscles on top of muscles scares me, I prefer normal build that makes SENSE.)

Trying to think harder about this. :pinched:

saying that it makes everyone else's fic look like ****** is not belittling everyone else?  we must have different definitions of belittling then.  sqee about fics all you want, but saying that this particular fic makes everyone else's look like ****** goes a little beyond squeeing over something you love.

about bodybuilders and shaving.  they do it for a very specific reason, the same reason they spray tan themselves into brown and oil up before the stage.  it makes the muscles stand out more.  hair blurs the striations and the general muscle definition.  its basicaly one of those things you do in competetive sports, like wearing uniforms of your team, gloves when boxing, etc.  its a tool.

I beleive asian and native american men don't have body hair naturaly?  and black guys in my neighbourhood who like to go shirtless in a summer don't seem to have chest hair either.  not 100% sure.  but Kaidan seems to have at least some european ansestry to him, so he probably does have at least a dusting of chest hair.

No one used the words "looks like ******" except you.  Yes, her writing does seem much better at times than say mine.  But you are free to interpret things as you will.  What I focus on is that I can enjoy many fics and I particularly enjoy hers.  I certainly feel that her writing is well enough that it brings out my own insecurities at times but I push them away.  I love green but in this context it's a very unbecoming color.

I'm sorry, I certainly didn't mean to insult anyone.  I was mostly trying to make Augoeides feel better, because I know how she feels :).  I do happen to think that Manipulations is the best fanfic out there.  She has a style that makes you feel, know, each character in a deep and meaningful way.  Is she perfect?  Of course not.  At times she tends to go way, way too long in way, way too much detail about things things that are interesting but not THAT interesting.  She has made the characters so much larger than life that they can't possibly exist.  But she's damn close - only in my opinion, of course.

Does that mean that I haven't read lots of fan fiction that I thoroughly, completely enjoyed while reading it, that I wouldn't read additional works by that author and thoroughly enjoy them? Of course not, and I absolutely have.  Much like my favorite movie vs. the 100 other moves I dearly love; my favorite book vs. the 1000 others I love.  Does that mean that I decide not to embark on my own fan fiction writing adventure because I know my writing will never compare to hers?  Of course not.  I'm doing it anyway, because I enjoy it immensely, as do I suspect all who do so.

so now, I wasn't the one who started with a ******.

you all are entitled to your preferences and opinions. I think her fic is average - better then many but far from the best, you think its amazing and that's fine. however, you are making a statement that goes beyond "I think her fic is the best out there" you are adding "it makes everyone else's fic look bad"

no. it doesn't.

but why do I bother. its ok in this thread to belittle other characters, to show how Kaidan is the best, why stop at that?
