True, but I'm not a big fan of any character being Shepard-sexual.

I like to think that if she likes Shepard it is also partly because she finds some humans physically attractive, not that Shepard is so epically awesome that someone that might not otherwise dig human men or women is willing to make an exception.

anyway, he implies not liking Liara, however giving her more adventurous endevors in LotSB, maybe he does change his mind ... people can do that ... without influence from the PC, right? *shrug*

You could certainly roleplay that Kaidan and Liara get together. I don't really know how, but anything is possible inside your own mind, right?

I think it'd be possible with good writing, but I do think that the biggest barrier would be Liara's obsession with Shepard, since she seems to love Shepard no matter what to the point she "can't let go," no matter how Shepard treats her.  Even if Kaidan did start to fall for her, he'd probably check himself at that unless Liara was showing obvious interest in him.

I can see them getting together after Shepard's funeral, though.  Funerals do weird things to people.

At this point, it's pointless to bother with 'realism', as in being attracted to humans in general and not just Shep. This galaxy is just Shep-sexual. When it comes to ManShep, women are almost universally into him - 7/8 of his female squadmates. Jack, Miranda, Tali, Ashley, Liara, Morinth & Samara (even though she turns him down, it's still clear she into him). Only Kasumi ain't into ManShep. FemShep ain't really much better, half of her male crew is into her and of course 3/3 Asari crewmates. And then stuff like Mordin's "if I had to I would try you" and Garrus' "I don't like humans but I'm gonna stick in you regardless since you want it" makes the concept of Shepard-sexual galaxy only so much more noticable. It's utterly unrealistic. In real life, even the most popular/gorgeous leaders in class/workplace don't get half of their colleagues/employees/subordinates to be into them, let alone 90% or so as it is with ManShep.

About Liara's obsession with Shepard, I can't help but think Harley Quinn's relationship with Joker right now (i.e. Almost unconditionally loves the person regardless of how she's treated). This would make a nice parody comic for Shepard+Liara pairings.

Anyway, I have a question for you Kaidan fans.

In my canon playthrough Kaidan died on Virmire, but I've just seen a video of the Virmire debriefing where Kaidan is the survivor. During the debriefing when Liara says she is 106, Kaidan blurts out "You look great for your age," and then embarrassed, stumbles over his words as he tries to back track. He has a similar exchange with Male Shep when you first recruit Liara, where he'll make a comment to Shepard indicating that he finds Liara attractive. I don't recall his exact words, but if Shep is interested in Liara he can reply with, "Hey..I saw her first."

With that in mind, if Kaidan and Liara are unromanced by Shep in ME3 should those two hook up? It could make for some humorous dialogue between the two, if both are on your squad.

Kaidan obviously finds Liara attractive, and while Liara never openly expresses a similar interest in Kaidan, we do know at least that she likes humans. 

Don't see this working. At least with ME2 Liara - she's too "cutting corners" and too ready to kill someone with her biotics.

From all ME ladies (aside femShep) I see "working" temper-wise Kasumi (romantic, funny, adventurous) and Ashley (connection with Alliance, sense of duty, "fire and ice" couple). But that's just my personal opinion.

It ain't actually obvious at all. He makes comment that she's beautiful and all, but he also tells FemShep she's not his type and that he "never claimed to be big on alien culture" (as I would understand it, he says he's not into aliens at all even if he can ackowledge they can look good). Some people argued that's because he doesn't want to make FemShep think he's intersted in Liara and not her, but then he wouldn't say this 'art appreciation' thing eariler and comment on the 'views' in the Chora's Den.

To be honest, Kaidan and the Asari thing is confusing to me, I ain't sure what exactly is his position towards them. Does he find them beautiful like he would find a building's architecture to be beautiful, or is he sexually attracted to them as well? His in-game comments regarding Asari are inconsistient and sometimes seem to contradict each other. It's like two people were writing it. One wrote Kaidan's "Asari are beautiful but I'm just not into them" and another wrote "thehe Asari so hot I visit extranet fetish sites with Asari matriarchs".

I dragged Kaidan and Garrus everywhere with Kate in ME1 (and Garrus in ME2 with various squaddies).  I better be able to have them both with me in ME3 again.

I think the "art appreciation" thing combined with the "not big on alien culture" probably describes it best.  He likes the way they look and can appreciate Hawt Blue Space Babes on the aesthetic level - yet he's not really into aliens.

The extranet fetish line comes across as a techie/web junkie joke to me.  Again, just because you know it's there doesn't mean that you're into it.  (Consider the wording: "it sounds like something on a extranet fetish site,"... and connsider it along the lines of, "ha, if it exists, someone's into it and has probably created porn of it - that crazy extranet!... why is everyone looking at me funny?")

With Male Shep Kaidan indicates that he finds Liara physically attractive, and the line during the Virmire briefing sort of indicates the same.

The statements to Fem Shep posted by some in this thread do seem to contradict that.

Either the game has different versions of Kaidan depending on whether or not your Shep is male or female, or with Fem Shep Liara's role as a possible romantic rival undercuts whatever attraction he might have otherwise had for her.

As for Kaidan hooking up with Ash instead of Liara...I could see that as well if both were alive. Going into ME3 however at least one of them is definitely dead, which also kills any chance of a possible romance between the two. I don't see him and Kasumi making a good match. If Kasumi ends up with another squad mate, it should be Jacob IMO.

I can only see Kaidan hooking up with Miri. Ash is like a sister to him IMO. And Liara, just no. Despite the comments that suggest he likes her, there are also comments that suggest he doesn't, after all he also says ManShep that it's just "art appreciation", that line is in both playthroughs.

Oh yeah! I totally see Kasumi being into Kaidan. I kind of hope I have the both of them together at some point in ME3 so they can have some hilarious banter with my femShep. <3

I'm doing all of the sidequests, go to do the one for the Consort, and Shai'ira's all "It's my job to know when important people arrive on the Citadel, many of them become clients", and Kaidan got this look on his face and was all "Yeah, well, you wanted to speak to the Commander?", and I was all O_O. What I'm trying to get at here is that I think Kaidan spent some time with the Consort. At least I feel like the game is strongly implying that. :I

Yes! I got that, too. It totally took me by surprise cuz it never happened b4, then bam!. I tried to repeat it, but..nothing.

It was after that Citadel observation moment of flirtation on my game. What I noticed is that Shaira ends her convo by saying , "and some I provide comfort". Then she looks over her shoulder...at what I thought...was Shepard. (narcissitic -sp?- perhaps). Anywhooo. Then Kaidan jumps in w/ that line.

I thought Shaira was hitting on Shepard---like most Asari's---and Kaidan was a lil jealous.

However, Kaidan partaking of her...erm, services...is very interesting as well.  hahaha.

@Preire and Kaidan character growth. Whew..lessee. Cuz you know he's gotta grow.

I could imagine him being less of a "company man". Because he's very much that now. Down the road he may become disillusioned w/ them?

Also, I could see him being more forthright in his feelings about Shepard. Drop all the leaving himself a way out stuff.

I could imagine them playing Skyllian Five poker complete w/ undertones (for a Shep and Kaidan that are unsure abt. each other:

Shep:...And I'll raise you.
Kaidan: I'm calling your bluff. *he pins her w/ steely eye contact* I'm calling your bluff, Shepard. I'm laying my cards on the table. Show me what you've got.

Oh, and I pic Kaidan as a rather stoic drunk. Not unpleasant, but one of those that you're never really sure how drunk they are.
