I was catching up on the last few pages, and for some reason I always thought Alenko was an Italian name. I never looked it up though. Interesting.

it seems though that on these forums, as well as outside of these forums, for some reason marriage is associated with major lifestyle changes, conformity and loss of identity - white picket fence, 2 kids, a dog and say good bye to your career. /shrug. marriage is just a commitment you make in front of witnesses, complete with some extra paperwork. what your relationship inside marriage is - is completely up to you.

P.S. I also don't thinkbeing a stay at home mother is in any way anti feminist - I thought feminism was all about freedom to chose, not some choices being more right then others.

Very well put. :wizard:

I never thought much about married Shep. I guess I assume they would probably get married if the ultimate threat were vanquished, because that seems like the kind of ending you would have with Kaidan (offscreen though, not mentioned in game).

It's a little harder for me to picture any of my Shepards with kids though, unless Shep took a desk job and stayed still for a while. Kids do take time and effort to raise, and I can't imagine Shep or Kaidan would want to have their own offspring without being present to raise the child/children.

Think what fun the kid/s would have, with mom and dad probably teaching them how to fire every weapon in existence! :o I still have very fond memories of my dad taking me and my brothers out to shoot. :)

Sometimes I imagine Shep and Kaidan with 1 or 2 kids (older, though, past the toddler years) aboard the Normandy galavanting around the galaxy on Spectre business. Realistic? Nah. But why the hell not!? If we have the option for Shep to have Spacer parents, growing up on various vessels, then my Shep and Kaidan sure might make a go of it. But not for several years yet. :D

All I can picture when I think of Shep/Kaidan's kids on board a ship (Normandy?) is Uncle Garrus teaching them how to calibrate. Awwww.

I don't doubt that references are majorly accidental, but for which names and which languages this works? Maybe "Garrus" is a commonly used term somewhere?:P

It is an expensive French wine.

"The best wine mercenary can buy", huh?

At symbols of wedding: I totally see Kaidan and biotic!Shepard getting each other a Savant X amp. Oh, I did just that for him in ME1... :innocent:

Quick question everybody:

I was glancing thru this other thread about how LI's in ME2 never say I love you (altho, I thought I heard that Jacob said that...but anyway).

I was wondering if Kaidan ever said "I love you" in ME1, or was Horizon the first time it came out?

I remember him hedging around it in ME1, but I can't remember when he actually came out w/ it.

Horizon is the only time he says it and he's the only ME1 LI who says it, I think
Jacob does say it but only after you reject sleeping with him

Jacob: Look at this THE PRIIIZEEE
Shep: You wanna talk now?
Jacob: I want you because I love you
Shep: Nah maybe later
Jacob: Lol ur a tease. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE THO
Shep: Goodnight Jacob.

the most he says is if you pick certain dialog choices by the lockers: "its what I lo.. appreciate about you" to which Shepard can reply "Galaxy is at state and you're still trip talking around me" he tells Shepard that she's important to him, but he doesn't say the words until Horizon.

edite - Ashley also say "I loved you" - since they have virtualy the same dialogue >_>

thnx guys.....hmmm.

And of course Shepard never says it. Horizon woulda been a nice time for at least the option for Shepards that loved Kaidan to be able to tell him.

Even if he doesn't come w/ Shepard, I would have liked for him to have known. We may never have seen him again. Heck, omega 4 and all that.

Shepard isn't really all that expressive in the romances, or at least the ME2 romances (including the carry over Kaidan/Ashley romance). Shepard always keeps his/her cool in the ME2 romances, while the love interest spills their guts.
Anyway, if there ever was a time to do it, ME3 would be it. It's about time for Shepard to be able (as an option, meaning) to show some tenderness, too. If only for the sake of more equal interaction.

I think they are going to let Shepard have the option to show some tenderness.

It's so funny because I remember the scene in ME1 after Virmire. That was a very tender scene, the way I dialogued anyway. The part about "I could never leave you....".

It's so funny because I remember the first time I played this part, and I was all into the convo. The game had this nice tight camera angle going on....

Then outta nowhere I hear Liara, "Uh, I hate to interrupt."

I was like, "Oh, Snap!" The camera pans out and it's a room full of ppl. I felt so busted. Lol.

I had to rewrite that scene for Kaidan and Avery.  There's no way in hell she'd say those things in front of her subordinates.

@Marriage and Kids
Well my shep grew up on ships. She is a space brat so she can see herself getting married to Kaidan and maybe kids later. Raising kids in space is normal to her however, I can't see her having kids till she feels like it is a safe place to have kids again. Plus both Kaidan and her have dangerous jobs. I do really like the idea about the tattoo rings or the idea about wearing it on the same chain as dog tags.

Ah the Mako!!! Many days I spent driving straight up a mountain but couldn't go across the hill. Fall 3 times off the top of a mountain without a scratch but went over a couple of bumps and it light up like a Christmas tree. I was very amused at times. Thinking all be damned I did it lol!

On the marriage subject, I could see Kaidan out of nowhere asking Shepard if she would marry him, but not forcing the idea on her. Or maybe Shepard asking him at a really crucial part of the game giving it more suspense because he can't give her an answer at the moment.
Personally my Shepard would get married on the Normandy, just a small wedding to just tell everyone "We're married now, stay out of our quarters." And maybe after the game ends it signals that they have kids. Which I wish I could play Alenko and Shep's kid in the next ME game they come up with... it would be damn fun to have the awesomest puppy dog eyes and the speech skill of a lawyer.

matching Tattoos for Shepard and Kaidan. yay or nay?

Not for my Shepard, just because I'm not a fan of tattoos personally. I think they would have simple bands. Not a large engagement ring and the whole shebang. Or if there was an engagement ring, maybe she'd keep it around her neck with her dog tags or something.

As for kids, my Shepard doesn't even think about that yet. But I don't think she'd be opposed to the idea LATER.

Yeah, my Shepard wouldn't say that in front of anyone. Too emotional. That would be between herself and Kaidan, privately, and even then she might have trouble saying it because she's not good at showing vulnerability and saying how she feels. Even to Kaidan, though she's better at it around him than anyone else.

Just read five pages of Kaidan thead-y goodness!

First off, that Kaiduck is amazing.

Secondly, about marriage and kids. I'd like to see Kaidan and my Shep get married, and maybe have one kid in the future. I don't think that should be done on screen, though, but instead something like an Epilogue/Years later ending. Kaidan does seem like the marriage type, if you ask me. And as for rings (which was discussed a few pages ago) I don't see why they couldn't just wear simple wedding bands (no diamonds or anything). Seems unobtrusive to me.
My Shep doesn't need kids. She needs a German Shepherd puppy!

And for the "I Love You" thing, Kaidan would probably be one of the more suited LIs to actually say it. I can picture him admitting it in a similar style that Alistair did in DA:O.

Hmm, what else did I miss?

Edit: I know, top, picture, but why can't I find a single non-creepy Kaidan pic that hasn't already been used?!

Edit again: Okay, it's not Kaidan, but we were talking about Mako crashing and stuff earlier:

Posted Image
Third Edit: Why so tiny? And by the way, I give up looking for non-creepy not already used pictures.
