Hey everyone! Long time lurker, but I'm just doing another playthrough of ME1 and I'm trying to find that spot in the citadel where you can chat to your squad mates and Kaidan gets all cute and embarrassed about something he said. Does anyone know where or what I'm talking about?
ThanksPosted Image

Greetings, Remtastic!

If I'm not mistaken, the location is in the Upper Wards along the balcony looking out over the Citadel.

So, where do you suppose Kaidan will sleep? Miranda's former office? Being a Spectre and all, I can't see him demoted to sleeper pods, and somehow I think Shep will keep her (or his) loft.

My Shepard would die for Space Hamster.

And also, Kaidan will sleep in Shepard's loft. Or maybe everytime you need to talk to him, he'll be conveniently showering in the men's restroom. ;)

Aha, I like the way you think

I wouldn't be surprised if they open up more areas of the Normandy for ME3. Something tells me there's a whole lot more of that ship to explore!

Being a PS3 player I went straight to ME2 and sadly missed out on the goodness that is Kaidan ... but luckily we recently upgraded the computer and the first thing I did was download ME and I'm very thankful that I did! Since then it's made lurking on his fan board much more enjoyable cause I can appreciate what your talking about rather than just look at the yummy pictures!

And I vote for Kaidans quarters being in Shep's Shower!

Speaking of Shep's bathroom, did anyone else notice that the mirror is missing in the PS3 version? The 360 version had a nice, shiny mirror (as does the PC), but the PS3 gives you a blank wall. Which looks out of place with the sink below and lights above.

I felt bad for my poor PS3 Shep. She couldn't admire herself in the mirror like my 360 Shep does. Big ego difference between the two, I'm sure.

Why would you even get the game for both consoles? :?

Odd story, that one. Someone told me ME2 was an amazing game, so I bought it for PS3 (since I love my PS3 way more than my 360). I asked if I should play the first first, but someone told me there was a comic. So I tried playing ME2, but I hated it. Thought the controls were awful, I didn't like the characters, and the game just felt weird. I still kept it, hoping to give it another chance eventually.

Then fast forward a few months, I fell in love with Dragon Age, and remembered that Bioware had made something similar called Mass Effect. I played the demo for the third at Comic Con, and decided I might as well act on good faith for Bioware and try out ME1. Bought ME1 and 2 on 360 for $10 each new, and loved them (obviously). Recently I went back and played my PS3 version of ME2 just to see the differences. Much better when you can import a save, because I guess the game assumes you made all the renegade choices in ME1 if you just use the comic.

And call me crazy, but now I kinda want to get them for PC, too...

I have them both for PC and 360. I prefer them for PC. I suggest them on PC but you really want to buy them again? Although I'm not one to speak. Right when ME3 comes out my brother and I are buying a copy each because he likes the 360 and wants his imports without replaying on PC and I love the PC sooo . . . . yeah. We sound like an old married couple when argue about it, we're pathetic.

@LadyofRivendell if you want it for PC too, maybe just wait for Trilogy Edition, or whatever Goty/Ultimate edition will come out 2 years or so? :)

I have it for xbox and PC. PC is really nice due to all the mods. Once mods come out its a whole different ball game. My DA:O has tons of mods but it is more enjoyable that way. Of course you have to wait a couple of years before they will allow the tools to be released. Wish I knew how to mod.

That's why I want it for PC, the mods  I recently bought DA:O for PC and began modding for fun, it adds a lot to the game. I don't think I'll be going back to my PS3 version of DA:O, except to do some recording. I'm sure I'd suck at the controls for ME on PC, though. I've never been very good with a keyboard and mouse, especially since I have a laptop and not an actual desktop gaming setup.

I'm just insane, I fell off the deep end quite a while ago.:innocent:

I added mods to DAO after I played it a million times but I've never modded ME1 or 2, never felt the need to mod them. I only have a pc so thats the only sytem I need to buy for, lol.

I hate that even though you can choose a few things in the comic that the game just automatically assumes the renegade responses for the rest. I wonder whether the percentage of players who cheated was affected by the comic. Kaidan's description wasn't actually acurate, lol. People may have chosen a LI in the comic but because they didn;t know them, and in the case of the VS, Horizon, they then cheated on that LI with a character that they actually knew in game.

Yeah I can't imagine that that statistic is all that accurate. There are a lot of variables to take into account for that one.

@LadyofRivendell - Aiming in ME on PC is soo much easier. If you can click a link you can aim your gun. I am lot better than my brother at aiming when I play ME than he is when he does and don't play that many shooters and he only plays shooters (I consider aiming on the PC cheating). I can play Fallout without using VATS most of the time. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some of the keyboard stuff during battle gets annoying though like using squad powers and changing weapons. But if I don't have too much trouble with it no one should. I have tiny hands and keeping my pinky finger on left shift, my thumb on space, and the other three fingers on the W, A, S, & D keys was weird at first but you get used to it after a while.

And DA on console? *shudders*

I only have DA2 and plan on getting DA3 for PS3, but the PC version is definitely the best. I remember looking at Alistair's complexion and thinking, "He's really in his early 20s?" The textures are really poor for consoles in comparison... The action-y feel was fun, though, made Nightmare mode much easier. I'm still on Normal on PC just because I'm not used to all the controls, party tactics, etc.

Aiming is really just click and go? Huh...

Sesheta, I finished all of your fics earlier, and loved them! Bum Steer is probably still my favorite, although Kaidan and the Hobbits had me cracking up (as I'm obsessed with LotR, so mixing that with ME and humor was a win). And the Booty ones were golden as well. You'll be writing more fics, surely?

This was just posted on the masseffectheadcanons Tumblr:

“Kaidan Alenko plays Galaxy of Fantasy under username L2_b10ticg0d. Ashley Williams plays under username b00mstick_Ash. She didn’t play until joining the Normandy crew. There went all her free time.”

I think this is now in my headcanon. What do you guys think?

    <_<

If my opinion of Kaidan were based on that wretched Genesis comic, I would likely be as dismissive of his character as all the gamers that never bothered to play ME and only came to the franchise with ME2. It's sad; I feel those people were all misled w/ the comic and Horizon. He is at least 1,000% more awesome than they give him credit for in the second game.

I have just returned from the land of Jade Empire. :wizard: Man! It's really hard to go back to an older game...even if JE did come out as recently as '05, it just looks and feels old when you play (not to mention being a bit of a button masher)! *sigh* I love Sky though. Even if his romance isn't as deep as other Bioware games, it's still satisfying. ;)

I'm late to the party, but I have 3 Shepards that came through both games...Paragade/Soldier, Paragade/Sentinal, Renegon/Sentinal. All 3 romanced Kaidan, both Paras stayed faithful, while the Rene turned to Thane for comfort. I also have two other Shepards made w/ the comic: one with Ashley alive and single Shep, and another with an unromanced Kaidan. I think I have all my bases covered. :D

All my Sheps but one chose to save the Rachni queen. I killed her once just to see if it was as bad a decision as I think. I think the game clearly nudges you to save her, even though the Council/Ambassador berate you for it afterwards.

Lest we forget why we're here:

Get Xpadder and program it to your PS3 or Xbox remote controller for ME. That is what I did. If you can do mods you can do xpadder I promise:happy:

How is the game play of ME2 on PC? Is it somewhat like ME? I'm mostly directing this at the controls. Part of me wants to get it for PC.

lmao, I'm 3/4 through a r/s fic that has Kaidan waiting impatiently for part 2 of his favourite game, and Garrus actually makes a comment about them now knowing what Kaidan does at that terminal all the time.Posted Image
