Gibbed's save editor! I couldn't make the choice to save Ash, so I just loaded it up on my PC and ticked "Saved Kaidan".

Horizon was still bad, even without the VS saying "I loved you" (No ******, Alenko). It was nice seeing him in custom armour though. Onyx looked bad without the red stripe.

Exactly. I hope we can make him more renegade (and badass? lol) if we chose that path for him. He'll still be him, just a bit more.. demanding. <3

It's not custom - at least it's not unique to Kaidan. You may see female version in the beginning of Thane's LM (right after Thane prayed and disappeared).
But his new blue SpeCTRe armour is really sweet. When will the promised femShep trailer arrive?:innocent:

^Apparently, Kaidan's L2-ness makes his senses more acute, therefore being more sensitive to light and sound.

I applaud the fan artist for following canon. Kasumi and Kaidan would make a horrible team

If Kaidan is really sensitive to light, the most horrible team for him will be Garrus or Grunt in their alternative appearance. Discoteque!
And I will have just another reason to dim lights on Normandy. We have six biotics in ME2 team (counting Shepard), and no one is annoyed by that? Or just have dim lights at Kaidan's quarters... Wait, the only place on Normandy which didn't irritate my eyes so far is AI core...

Ashley and Kaidan both have a wealth of military and political potential for being human, in addition to being along for Shepard's Reapers Ride.  Wrex has a revolutionary outlook for a krogan (from what I can tell talking to him, "You made me want to fight for something more than credits") and might be able to swing his weight if kept alive.  Liara shares Shepard's vision of the Protheans and the Cipher, and is thus invaluable.  Tali is something of foreign dignitary and really should be a non-combatant.

Garrus is... a cop.  Who quit his job and now has nowhere else to go.  Bottom of the "important" ladder in this junction, alas.

(Alternately, I'd sacrifice Shepard, but then the game probably wouldn't move on.)


At this point, I'd take both Kaidan and Zombie!Ashley for ME3.  Lazarus already cheapened the whole death and dying thing for me beyond repair, so why the heck not?

and ... in my head the Kaidan romance is m/m, so I'm not sure if I could get it to work in a picture with a femShep

btw: if someone feels offended by the mShep/Kaidan content, I'm okey with that and I wouldn't mind to just post links, as much as I'd like it to be true, it was cut from the first game and there's still no reliable confirmation for ME3, so ...

Your art is SO cute, I can't imagine anyone being offended.  And as someone who only plays FemShep and usually only draws purdy ladies because she's waaaaay more comfortable drawing women...I say draw what you enjoy, it usually turns out much better that way.

And though I would personally prefer that we don't make this thread into another pitstop for the same-sex LI debate, it is very possible that Kaidan will be one of the same sex romances available in ME3.  Speculation about that aspect of his character is valid.

Well, the issue of Kaidan's sexuality is bound to come up. It's a Kaidan-specific thread. So long as we keep the same-sex talk limited to Kaidan, instead of branching out into the overarching subject of all same-sex romances, we should be okay.

Now, the way I see it... If Kaidan's going to be a same-sex option, it'll be because he's an option for femSheps who didn't romance him in ME1.

Maybe your femShep just wasn't feeling Kaidan in ME1. Or maybe you started the series with ME2 and none of the ME2 love-interests really did it for you. Either way, come ME3, your femShep is single. And, for whatever reason, she starts to show a romantic interest in Kaidan. There will definitely be a conversation about "Why now? We've known each other for so long. Why did we wait until the Reapers were at our doorstep to finally say how we feel for one another?"

I mean, come on. That's bound to happen. I doubt that Kaidan-romance will be restricted to femSheps who romanced him back in ME1, or femSheps who used the pre-game comic to establish and existing relationship with him. There's bound to be people who go into ME3 single.

So, if Bioware is going to go there anyway, why not go there with manShep? The dialogue could easily be stretched to accomidate manShep. Would that be my preferred means of implementing same-sex content? No. But from Bioware's perspective, that would be a good way to get the most out of their reasources, and I could easily see them doing so.

In my head, Kaidan's bisexual regardless of whether MaleShep ever gets it up to talk to him.  Just the way I see it. 

...even when I write Fem!Kaidan.

and I didn't and don't mean to stir things up, it's just ... femShep/Kaidan is canon, and I know not everyone is into s/s and I don't need to rub it into their faces if it can easily be fixed, because I wouldn't want people who like Kaidan feel uncomfy in this thread; now if you like Kaidan and dislike femShep/Kaidan ... anyway, I was trying to find that one line "way to go team milky way" but can't find it no matter what dialog I pick in my current playthrough; let me guess, you have to make Kaidan xenophob to get that or did I still somehow miss it?!

I'm in a crappy mood and I've been felling more and more uncomfortable in this thread with the gushing and underwear smelling and basically mostly staying away more and more, because it feels creepy at times (yes I went there) so I guess I'm going to stir the pot a bit. (chibi drawings made me aww though - I'll be honest, I came back to see if there were more of them, even if I don't agree with the content entirely)

1. in my signature, I have 2 links to posts made by 2 of the ME1 writers. one of them is Patrick Weeks. they deal with the whole "Kaidan was meant to be bisexual" issue as well as the hidden dialogue.
2. whenever people mention sexual tension with Kaidan - I want to slap them silly. there IS NO SEXUAL TENSION in that "walk up to Kaidan" scene. you ARE imagining things. there's no tension there even with a femshep, let alone maleshep. sexual tension only shows up in 2 romance specific scenes and occasional romance specific dialogue. I know that Kaidan misreads femshep being nice to him as actual interest - a fact that you can convince him off in the next conversation you have the one when he talks about getting mixed signals and asking you to tell him if he was out of line. consider that you might also be getting mixed signals - apparently that happens with a lot of people, there is no shame in misunderstanding. Hell - he barely talks to maleshep, you are missing at least 2 conversations and a lot of details.
3. Horizon was a badly lazily written piece of s**t, stop bringing up ONE line from it as your proof.
4. the whole bull about Kaidan being sooo gay because he's nice, has good hair, is soft spoken, whatever else reasons come up with that are based on anything BUT actual sexual orientation? stereotyping much? do you really want to support those stereotypes and biggots perpetuating them? whether they add in bisexuality to Kaidan or not, whether they open him up to new romance or not - how he was portrayed in ME1 has NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS SEXUALITY. well except for things he actually confirms, like being monogamous and taking relationships seriously.

personally - I don't mind the modded images and fanart as much as the points I touched on above. and the gushing. especially the gushing. I guess that makes me a bad fangirl, but that's ok, I can live with that.
