Well, damn.......... that's what you get for not reading those TL;DR shadow broker files...... I cheated with Thane and never read that before........... Mind you it was my very first ME2 play through. I wanted to get cheating Shepard *out of the way* iyswim? Little did I know at the time BioWare were using it as an excuse to manufacture a belief that I was through with my Mr Alenko........ ¬_¬

Never did have a romance other than Kai-Kai. The ME2 ones just didn't appeal to me. Besides, how could I leave that sexy man with the sexy voice?

On the topic of the beret/KP Napkin Hat, I'm not a fan. Why would they want to cover up his hair like that?

I haven't done a "cheating" playthrough yet. I can't bring myself to have Shepard leave Kaidan, I refuse to romance Liara, and my Male!Shep romances Ashley, but then leaves her on Virmire because I can't *not* save Kaidan. I guess that's what YouTube is for.

That's a good idea. Are you going to do that again for ME3?

Of course he doesn't. *sadface* So, after I completed the SM, I backloaded and chatted up each potential LI one at a time until I had experienced all the love scenes. After sating my curiosity and not finding a romance that tempted me in the slightest to forsake Kaidan, I stayed with my faithful save.

I did that once for Garrus, but just so I could get a picture of that damn smile Shepard does.


I also want to create a Shepard who romances Kaidan and then Garrus because although my canon Shep only sees him as a best friend, I feel like another Shepard would have had strong feelings for Garrus in ME1 but never acted on it, and instead acted on her attraction for Kaidan. Then in ME2, Kaidan "abandons" her so she feels like Garrus is the only one she can trust, which increases the feelings she already has toward him.
Way too thought out?
Plus I love Brandon Keener's voice. Not as much as Rapahel Sbarge's. But close.

Same. And that's why I don't really like Jacob as an LI. I don't want the relationship to feel one-sided.

@ Jen LOL, I actually discovered it by accident on my recent Thane romance. I was just more interested in his character since I was romancing him, so I decided to read through his Shadow Broker file not expecting anything but just refreshing myself on his info and then.......*epic sob* I don't really know what I'll do with renegade Shep in ME3 now. If they cure Thane, she just may have to stay with him since Kaidan has many other Shepards. XD

I also found it extremely funny when Rene (my renegade) killed the Turian on Thane's loyalty mission and he says something like: "That is an interesting solution." For some reason, when he said that I just died laughing.

Back to Kaidan: I hope they have written a TON of dialogue for him to make up for his forced absence in the second game. I need to just listen to him talk and talk and talk....

For those of us that pursued other relationships how do you see Kaidan interacting with:
Garrus, Thane, and Jacob? Aggressive vs Passive, Passive vs Passive, Aggressive vs Aggressive.

I see Garrus and Kaidan as Aggressive vs Aggressive for obvious reasons
Jacob and Kaidan well Aggressive vs Aggressive Jacob ex-Alliance/ex-Cerberus agent
Thane and Kaidan Passive vs Aggressive but it might turn out Passive vs Agressive

I totally forgot about Liara vs Kaidan

That conversation was utterly adorable and pretty much sold me. It made Jacob's character sympathetic IMO. I like embarrassed dissembling.

Need some Kaidan/Shep.

^^^^ What she said. I think Kaidan is too mature and dignified to get into it too much, but you may get a comment or two.

I would think the Garrus/Kaidan thing would have the most potential for volatility based on shared past and history, but even then, I don't expect them to do very much with jealousy. Again, probably one comment and that's it.

None of the ME2 romances appealed to me so I have stayed faithful to Kaidan. And as has been stated many times before, THE SMILE! It is so, so . . . GAH. I love it. I am smiling like an idiot while typing this by the way, just remembering it.

If I had to 'cheat' or pick a new LI, I guess Thane or Jacob but the Jacob one is iffy because of Shepard and her creeper voice.

Ok if you already know this just ignore me-_- In another thread it stated to play Arrival before SM and you find out that Allience has been doing something about Collectors. If you ask Hackett what Allience is doing about Collectors he states that they are sending out ships to evacuate smaller colonies but some ships sent out hasn't come back. I'm guessing our beloved Mr. Alenko confirmed collectors attack on Horizion. Maybe he started leading the evacuation of colonies and that pushed him up to Spectre status.

Again if you know this already just ignore my idiotic ramblings-_-

I'm with Bekkael in thinking that we'll probably only get a line or two at most.  There are bigger things at stake in the galaxy (supposedly) than how Kaidan reacts to Shep's new squeeze.  And now that I have tried to picture it, I just see Kaidan as being hurt and making me feel like pond scum.  And when he goes back to calling my Sheps "commander" in his business-like manner, I might cry a little.

I imagine Liara would be the least surprising to him.  Anyone who was even nice to Liara in the first game probably got some of his jealousy dialogue, so it would be like something he might just expect, or at least understand.  Probably not a lot of flack for that one.  I can't imagine how he might react to Jacob, but for Garrus I think he might have some words completely apart from his dialogue with Shepard.  And Thane?  No clue.

I guess we'll see.  Is it March yet?

I agree. I just see Kaidan being sad about it. I don't think he's presumptuous about what definitely must happen between himself and Shepard now that she's back. Whatever he wants himself, I think he'll respect her choice, even if it leaves him broken hearted. The thing is, whether they're reunited romantically or not, she has returned to him in at least some senses. She's alive again when he thought they were parted forever. At least he has something, and I don't see him being ungrateful for that. Most people never get a second chance.

That's a good idea. Are you going to do that again for ME3?

More than likely. Then I can see how a brand new ME3 romance with Kaidan compares with an imported ME1 romance how missions play out and if certain deaths are inevitable so I can save Kaidan so I don't get Kaidan killed so I'll be prepared for any squaddie deaths. Yeah.

Let's go with that.

Well, what we want and what we actually get are probably going to be two separate things. (I've never tried to hide the fact that I'm a drama wh*re, but that would be radically OOC for Kaidan so...yeah.)
