I just listened to the audio blog and is anyone else concerned that the ending doesn't sound very ... well ... happy?

I wrote this out yesterday in my excitement, but with all the posts, I'm sure it was easy for you to miss, so I'll just stick it here again. This is essentially what he says, if you were to just sprinkle in "ahhhh" and "ummm" between every second word.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you, and it's either me or the geth, so, you know, take your choice.
No, seriously, I can't say anything, but I can say that Kaidan Alenko's back in a lot.
Certainly for the female players, there's a lot of action between Kaidan Alenko aaaand you... the player...um, madam player. Which is exciting...and pretty steamy, actually."

And that the ending scene was beautifully written and he was choked up about it. He said was it was exciting to be a part of the whole journey of Kaidan.
To me, it sounds like you aren't going to get a sunshine and bunnies type of ending. Kaidan might die (forced or otherwise) or you may have to sacrifice something for him to live.

This. Not worried in a bit there would be mandatory & completly unavoidable LI deaths.jtav wrote...
*shrug* Hard choices are character defining. But even the DA team doesn't make the death of the protagonist or LI mandatory. Ever. So I wouldn't worry.

Don't worry. Raphael can't reveal anything and emotional scene doesn't automatically mean Kaidan's dying.Bekkael wrote...

He could mean that the big, heart wrenching scene is right before the final battle, right? Like when you're saying goodbye to all of your companions in DA:O, before going into Fort Drakon? That's pretty heartwrenching, but it doesn't mean that the LI or player character has to die.
I hope.

I'm sure. I don't believe for one minute that Kaidan's death will be mandatory. AT. ALL. I'm so confident he and Shepard will have a triumphant ending like in ME1 that I will willingly bend over and let you guys paddle my ass if I'm wrong.

You also have to think, he records for every scenario. I'm sure there's one or two where plenty of people die, and the VA has to record their reaction for it. Those scenes are probably going to stick in the minds of the actor more then the happy ones, particularly if they care for the role.

Which, conveniently enough, happens to be that chapter...you know the one...yep, that one.
Oh, and I also just happened to make a companion manip for it (of course, I'm doing companion pieces for most of the chapters now, so it's really not that unusual...honest...):

Aw, that sounds really sweet! But if Kaidan has to send Shep an email, that means that he's not around...? Which is a sad thing, I was hoping he'd be one of the permanent swuadmates.
Unless I've missed something entirely, as I didn't listen to the audioblog. What does he mean by play? And when does he send this, anyone know? Sorry, I haven't read the last pages to catch up yet.

I hope you're right, I really do. But sometimes I get the feeling that Shepard dies at the end of this game. That's just the feeling I've been getting from various dev tweets and interviews. Hopefully, as you say, it will be only one of a number of endings. I'll just have to wait and see!
