@Zombie... hehehe... we'll just sit there in an endless cycle of Sky, Carth, Atton, Kaidan and Fenris.... forever ;'D
@Bekkael... oh noes.... but don't most of your friends know that you share that profile? :)

I don't know. All but two are new and from the BSN, but not all are from this board, some of them are from the Xbox multiplayer group, so don't really know me as well. I just hate rudeness and hope whoever doesn't think it of me. Hopefully they'll try again another time.

I really do want to play the KOTOR games but can't get past the damn bugs. :( Wonder if I downloaded it it my laptop if it would work?

Well, I can't remember where I saw it, but I'm pretty sure I did see a quote from a Bioware dev stating that there will be friendship paths for all squadmates.  Even if Kaidan can't be romanced by guys, I hope very much that a meaningful relationship can still be established/continued.

Honestly, it's possible that the kind of people who didn't like Kaidan in ME1 are never going to like him. Devs have commented that they're okay with the fact that not all players will like all characters, because that's always going to happen due to people having different tastes.

Image for top(-ish) of the page!  [Though I now see one's been edited in; good job, Isaac!)  Just saw this lovely picture by Sakunathis lovely picture by Sakuna in my DA messages today.

Not gonna like I don't like how he keeps mentioning all content for female players :? Forget about s/s romance, the way he keeps bringing 'female' makes it sounds like everything that's worthy/emotional is reserved for FemShep and ManSheps will get even more half-assed dialogues/content with Kaidan than in ME1, even in friendship departement  Hopefully he's only saying it because he knows how many female fans Kaidan has but ugh seriously... didn't BioWare heared the criticism how sucky presentation & lack of content in ME1 made many male players dislike Kaidan? Are they gonna do it again and even worse?

Don't worry, love. I think they have written him awesome for everyone. They are probably just trying to placate the raging horde of women that have seethed all this time over Horizon, and are attempting to make it up to said players. Have faith! :)

@IsaacShep I thought that all this "for female" thing is little to fishy. He is mentioning this all the time! Maybe it's on purpose? Becouse they can't say anything about S/S and they are trying to mislead us? Something like that ;]

^conspiracy theory in there

If your laptop can handle games and has the required specs (which it should unless your laptop is like ten years old), I don't see why it shouldn't run.

How's that saying go about the "vocal minority" on chat forums, etc etc? Well, I think what you said pretty much hits it spot on... we're a minority in the gaming community so yeah... we tend to get a bit.. vocal. :P I think this is just them trying their best to appease us / ease our concerns. I can't imagine they'll somehow leave male shep behind in regards to anything emotional - they're just happening to focus more on the female side of things in the info they're releasing to the community / public.

Stay optimistic Isaac! I'm sure that the VAs have been given a "gag order" on S/S relationships, so even if Raphael is recording amazing S/S content, he can't say yet.

The way he brings up "female" content with Kaidan may very well mean that FemShep/Kaidan romance will be dramatically different from ManShep/Kaidan romance, rather than the huge lack of gender distinction with romances in DA2.

SteamSteam, €8.99. Don't know how much they're charging in dollars or pounds; it shows me the euro price. That's not bad, is it?

I'm letting things slide until the game goes live. Yeah, it's tough but if I analyzed every audioblog, tweet and cryptic hint coming out of convention discussion panels regarding Kaidan's lifestyle/possible heartbreak/possible demise I would end up missing the game's launch -- I'd be at Happydale Home for the Information-overloaded, awaiting my next "Better Living Through Electroshock Therapy" session.

Hey, isn't that how Jack got started? Posted Image

Of course I realize not everyone will like him, but half-assing him for ManSheps again would make things even worse :( many players didn't even give Kaidan a chance because they couldn't talk to him until after completing Citadel... FemShep can talk to Ash from the beginning. :(

Yes, that's unfair.  Bioware should realise that, yes, while a certain percentage of people will always dislike any character, that can't be used as an excuse for not presenting or writing a character properly.  I believe they have learned from their mistakes in writing Kaidan's interactions with male Shepard and hope that you'll have a lot to be happy about when you play ME3.  Chin up!  *hugs*

Looks like it's too early to delete my saves with female Shepard turned into male to romance Kaidan back in ME 1 B)   Although in ME 2 this imported "modified" Shepard is recognized by the game as male who did romance Kaidan so maybe it's no so bad. But it sure is very disappointing if Kaidan's emotionality and love are at their best and maximum only for females <_<

not even talking about s/s now Chylise. I'm now on the "s/s ain't happening and even friendship with Kaidan for ManSheps will suck" level of panic, seeing how everything seems to be about FemShep, like in ME1 :( No offence to FemSheps, want the best for them but everyone knows they did half-assed Kaidan in ManShep's playthrough :(

Steam had KotOR for $10. (They don't have KotOR2 though.)

I don't know anywhere to get a digital copy of KotOR2, I bought it for PC when it first came out, luckily. You might have to get it used off Amazon or something. :?

I see this mentioning of female Shepard as basically throwing a bone to the Kaidan fans, most of which are female and have female Shepards who romance Kaidan. Not "male Shepard" doesn't matter.

But I have no real expectations.

I think, as Isaac partially alludes, that this is really a problem when it comes to how Bioware deals with romance and friendship.  Players who don't romance a character shouldn't be locked out of developing a meaningful relationship with that character.  It annoyed me with Jack particularly in ME2.  She would literally stonewall a female Shepard beyond a certain point; apparently, only romantic love allowed for full character development.  Anyway, my point is this: whether or not Kaidan is available as a same-sex romance in ME3, players shouldn't have to resort to modding in order to unlock an emotionally satisfying experience.  For heaven's sake, there's more than one kind of love in the universe.  To write without realising that really restricts one's storytelling palette.

KOTOR 2 is dirt cheap these days, I'm sure you will find a great deal especially now in Holiday season :) And any laptop taht ain't like 5 years old shoud run it I think. My 3 years old former laptop that didn't even have a graphic card (had some integrated crap) could run it

amazon has it new for 15 bucks with free shipping if you get something else with it to bring it up to 25 bucks.

personaly, still not buying it.  I never really managed to finish the first KOTOR as it is, and the fact that second kinda spits all over the ending for the first one?  meh.

edited - if you don't mind waiting a few months for christmas steam sale?  they usualy have KOTOR sell for like 5 bucks or less on their semi-anual sales.

Well, BioWare spit all over KOTOR 2 in TOR so they're even. And Kotor 2 is so good (and better than K1) that I really recommend overlooking some of the railroading and picking it up anyway. If you're a sucker for stellar writing, you won't be disappointed in a bit.

I'm really mixed on KOTOR 2. The stories and characters are generally good (there are exceptions, of course). But you can argue that the design and gameplay flaws aren't worth it.

And there are no real romances in it, for those curious - in fact I think the "romance" content in the game harms it more than anything else.
