CaseyH-ME2: We actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story, which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable (more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't say for the new characters.

oh yeah, Kaidan, Mass Effect... please for the love of all that's hily, don't make heroic sacrifice sort of endings to be the only option?  rawnbows and bunnies and unicorns and babies for those who want them would be nice as one of the options :/

and most definitely no mandatory killing of of Kaidan or Ashley, if you moved on.  casue that would be just all sorts of wrong :/

When I saw the trailer for the new WoW expansion I had no idea if it was serious or not lol

I only bought a subscription once after my free month of playing was up.
I got a Night Elf Druid to level 60 and I don't really know how haha. I'm really bad at playing PvP and always have the lowest DPS in dungeons. I don't know how to play (I'm also a... "clicker"? I can't push the hot keys I'm too slow)

 I find it funny that you guys are talking about WoW because my husband got a year's subscription for it today, because they have a special where if you subscribe to WoW for a year you get Diablo 3 for free. I told him no way in heck I'm going back with him, I'm just waiting for SWTOR to come out.

My brother plays WoW and has been trying make me play for years upon years now. It just doesn't sound appealing to me personally. Or maybe I just don't want play cause he does and I am being stubborn. I take my other brother's game advice over his (Yay for being the little sister!)

I have never truely understood that Joey/Horizon pic. I'm a terrible Kaidanite.

I was browsing the internet casually and that showed up; I found it funny for some unknown reason. I don't know what it means either haha.

well - paragon greeting on Horizon is the very underwhelming "its been too long Kaidan how have you been" which kinda sorta almost sounds like Joey's irreverent how ya doing hence the joke.

as for WoW - I played for yeras but its lost its luster for me with the last expansion. I went back for 2months recently and its still meh. MMO's are not for everyone, and WoW has a very distinct atmosphere to it that some love, while other?.. not so much.

Batteries, its just practice and lost of good addons I am and always have been a clicker, but I managed to get pretty proficient at it, to the point where most people wouldn't even know, unless I told them. my damage wasn't the highest but it was good enough to get some pretty tough bosses down (and yeah, I had to do a double take and go to blizzards official site, becasue it sounded too much like one of their april's fools fakeouts.)

I just had to come here and express my massive excitement about Raphael's audio posts; particularly the one in Kaidan's voice (which, brag brag brag, was my suggestion ! I am DYING of excitement for ME3!! What are everyone else's reactions? Let me know while I read the last few pages of this massive thread!

He hasn't yet! IIRC, they'll be choosing 3-5 questions to answer and he'll respond to them on Sunday at some point. I'm guessing his assistant tweeted asking for more questions about Once Upon A Time, because he's been getting so many specifically about ME, so if you guys want a question answered, I'd recommend asking him something general.

You know... I kinda want this ending. And Kaidan dying. As options, of course, along with both alive and both dead! I experimented with DA:O after my first (awful) run, sacrificing myself, sacrificing Alistair, neither of us dying, becoming King & Queen, both wandering off together as Wardens, and such. The only DA:O ending I haven't gotten is Loghain's sacrifice and Loghain alive. Can't bring myself to let Alistair go
Oh, wait, what was I saying? Ah, yes, anyways, I'd like that kind of diversity with ME3's endings. Just once, I want to see what it's like with the different emotional scenarios. Although the rest of my playthroughs will be happy endings, as well as the first (hopefully!). BW wouldn't be evil enough to deny us of our happily ever after, would they?

If Kaidan's death is mandatory, Ashley will have to die, too. And Ashley seems to be one of the devs' favorites, so...

I really doubt that Kaidan will be a mandatory death in ME3. I think several someones (sorry, don't recall who exactly) up thread stated they believe that this may have been the recording for the confirmed worst ending in Mass Effect 3, in which [not sure if this would be considered a spoiler or not, since it's pretty obvious what the worst case scenario would be].

I completely agree with that. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Kaidan and/or Shepard can die at the end, and that they can also both survive. I would be absolutely amazed (and damned disappointed) if the plot is structured so that Kaidan always dies.

ETA: If there is a bad ending in which they both die, I will totally create a separate save and play that, just to cry my eyes out at Hale and Sbarge's amazing voice acting!

I'd be surprised if each of the main squadmates didn't have some sort of unique death scene that may or may not happen depending on your game (or maybe a scene that always does happen but can end quite differently depending on what you've done)

I doubt any deaths are set to happen no matter what

I won't go so far as to say that, but I will be heavily disappointed if Kaidan and/or Shepard dies and there's nothing I can do about it.  Key words being "nothing I can do"; I'm fine with their deaths being optional or part of a "bad ending", since I'm all about player choice in this case.  After ME2, though, I feel like Kaidan fans already went through their share of unavoidable heartache.  Especially if none of the other LIs are set up like this and can go skipping off into the sunset.

I totally agree with this. What made me a BioWare fan in the first place is the sheer number of outcomes available in their games. Yes, there may be an outcome where everything goes wrong, but will that be the only one? I don't think so.

The road you and your ME1 LI have travelled on romance-wise has been filled with nothing but obstacles. Would the writers of ME3 be so cruel and heartless as to deny your Shepard and Kaidan the reward of love and happiness after saving the galaxy a third time? Again, I don't think so.

Finally, if you're a fan of Mass Effect, you've invested a lot of time - and emotion - into the game. To end the trilogy on such a downbeat note like the unavoidable death of Shepard or your LI...I've already had a vison of me sitting at my PC, mouth open in shock and then finally managing to say "Are you $(#%# KIDDING me??" 

Could they do that? Yes.  Would they do that? I...well, you know what I'm going to say.

I'll be sobbing either way at the end of ME3, no matter what happens. It's the end... There'll be a giant hole in my heart at the thought of no more new adventures with Shepard, Kaidan, Liara, Garrus, and the gang.

DA2 didn't have very diverse endings... Either way, the crap hit the fan, and nothing was very "upbeat".

Ugh, I'm trying to make a new character for a new playthrough of ME1, but why do all the blush options for makeup look so awful?! Every single one of them reminds me of Santa Claus. And I don't want my Shep walking around saying, "Ho ho ho!" to the Normandy crew. Any recommendations as to which option to use?

I will most likely do what I always do, which is . . . play through the game non-stop almost to end then, when I instinctively know that I have reached the point of no return, I will save, shut off the game, and ignore it for at least three months so I can pretend it's not almost all over.
