Met Raphael Sbarge at Albuquerque Comic Expo (going on through this Sunday). I was selling some vg fan art (had 2 from Mass Effect) with my original stuff when some of the organizers noticed my Kaidan print and introduced me to Raphael. Very nice guy! He actually took the time to sign all of the prints I had on hand, and was great to all the fans he spoke to at the event and his panel.

FYI: He's more than happy to sign screen caps for fans as well (if you want to bring in a print of your ME character hanging with Kaidan, he'll sign it for you). He talked a bit about his vg voice acting work in his panel, I was very impressed with his theatrical background and his explanation of the process he goes through.

Mass Effect 3 Update from him: For those wondering, he has started recording his lines. He's definitely not done yet. A podcaster asked if he was going to be recording lines for m/m romance, and he confirmed it and said he was all for it. (He said voice actors prefer emotional scenes, and not 'screamy' scenes.. like being on a dragon and screaming I wasn't sure what that reference was).

Thank you so so much MarqueAZ for bringing us this news! Please, could you try remember any more details on s/s romance we said? OMG I'm so jealous of you right now! xD (BTW is that your daughter on the pic with Raphael? )

Usually more of a tech role since my Shepard is an Adept and the other squadmate I always take with me is Ash.

Full Biotics/Advanced Tech, along with Advanced Medicine & First Aid and Full Sentinel.

So... more of a biotic.

I always used him for tech and Medicine first, and biotics second, because I played as adept and often had Liara or Wrex on my team after Virmire.

A three biotic team can be tons of fun...

Kaidan/Liara/Adept Shepard in ME1 was hilarious when they all got maxed out - watch us stunlock Saren with Lift the whole battle. Shooting fish in a barrel, that was

I do tend to rely on him more for biotics, but I've gotten more in the habit of filling out his tech more, so I can rotate who's in slot #3 easier (I see what you're thinking, but that's not the slot I mean, lol) My sheps, bar one have always saved him at least for his l33t biotic skillz, not just b/c he's pretty (or at least that's what a few of them are telling him and themselves )

ETA: And one of the dude!Sheps was very glad to hear about the m/m - now he can haz a Kaidan too

I knew about the lift thing, but I never realized just how much easier it makes the Saren fight until I had to cope without the other day ... on a first playthrough without maxed out team

and for the record Garrus 'fainted' more often than Kaidan ^3^

More tech, because both Vanguard Shepard and Wrex are... questionable with it. BTW "Spam Lift" works for this trio, too.
I'm interested how it should look ingame - since Shepard can't open the locks without Electronics/Secyphering skills, it should be Kaidan who went through all of that crates, lockers and other strange places... I'd so like to watch him actually bypassing the lock... 'sigh'

Considering my Shep's an infiltrator, I've got Kaidan doing tech/biotic -- always fun to see someone fly past my head when trying to snipe someone.

So apparently they saved up all of Kaidan's "biotic badass cutscene potential" for the AA tower? 

I went up there to get some screenshots, and (unlike Ashley in the same spot, who seems to run out firing), Kaidan ducked behind a crate and tossed out a plethora of throws and lifts and barrier'ed.  Following that, he ducked behind the other side of the smoking AA tower and tossed out some tech mines.

Then when Saren showed up, he chased Saren (who was chasing Shep) around in a circle around the smoking AA tower, and caught up with him, and tried to take him out with his pistol (which was apparently the killing shot - the cutscene started a moment later) at a distance of three feet or so (which I unfortunately didn't get a screenshot of - Shepard's head got in the way and I didn't hit pause fast enough).

... Go Kaidan.

Holy, I've never actually put him in that situation because it doesn't make sense to have Ashley set up the bomb imo. However this might make for better movies...

It's ingame combat, so I don't know how good of movies it'd make, but I did get similar results twice in a row (plus or minus the Saren bit, since running around the tower was Shep-initiated).

Yeah... I run with Kaidan/Ashley (Kaidan/Wrex on the second half of Virmire and Kaidan/Liara on Ilos) as a pure soldier and Kaidan is fantastic all around.  Especially with Ashley and Soldier!Shep, you will still notice enemies flying everywhere and exploding from tech.

He's just that good.

Kaidan is one of those slow-starting rpg characters. The kind that start out pretty lame, but get increasingly more powerful as you level up. My go-to squad is Kaidan/Wrex, except on Noveria when I bring Liara for story reasons.

Ok I'm currently running SentinelShep.....and I was thinking of taking Kaidan with me...dual tech/biotics... or would that be overkill?

I Did sentinel with kaidan as well as garrus, it was extreme and one of my quickest playthroughs. Sentinel are way stronger in me2 as well, so it will be such a great playthrough for you.

I edited one of my old drawings and made the characters look like kaidan and shepard which i think it does .

Hope i dont get banned for that :S

I'm usually running Vanguard Shep so his limited Biotioc powers are nicely made up for with Kaidan's biotics.

Yeah I ran a Vanguard 5+ times in ME1 and and twice in ME2 I think...

I'm gonna try a straight class game ME1 to ME3 w/o changing. I want to see how the sentinel changes between all three games

when i listen to amv with mass effect, kaidan and shepard in them i tend to draw my way out of it.

I like adept/Sentinel its a really badass class if u like Biotics, i love using biotics than just guns, guns tend to get boring, i just love using my powers
