Good point, but Kaidan is more of his own man (apart from being able to renegade him a little). Alistair was far less sure of himself and therefore more open to persuasion.

Me too.  One of the things (besides the sexy voice) that I love about Kaidan and Carth is that they are men in their own rights.  Not little puppy dog boys that need to be made into men.  Alistair is sweet and love his romance, but I'd take the Sbarge men over Alistair any day of the week.

I like Alistair a great deal. yes he's young and he's still figuring out things, but he's young... and even as young as he is there are hints there, so many hints and more then just hints of the kind of man he could become. He doesn't need to be made into a man, he just needs to be given an opportunity to grow into his skin, on his own.

I ummm/ ducks.. actually prefer Alistair romance to Kaidan's. (especially since on my canon, I got him to make the first move, took some effort, but it was sooo worth it).

Kaidna is a fantastic character and one of my favorite LI's in bioware games. But Alistair, with his irreverant sence of humor and his "yeeees?" and his awkward straightforwardness... /sighs...

Nothing wrong with preferences, everyone has them. I'm not sure I can pick just one favorite romance across all games. The ones that swept me off my feet in each game hold their own in that particular world. Kaidan is more mature than Alistair, but his world also requires it. If Alistair grew up with aliens and space travel as the norm he would be vastly different, just as Kaidan would be different in a medieval setting. It's apples to oranges really. I love them ALL.
