Mass praying ain't meant to be enjoyed, it's suppoused to be effective :D

are you SURE you want me praying with you?

@ Bekkael - exactly :)

(there's also a bit of a personal thing involved here - Kaidan and Garrus and Jacob and Xevran, all have some shades of my husband to them, but Alistair?  he's like my husband when we just met :P  so.. umm yeah :) )

eh.. I like Alistair a great deal. yes he's young and he's still figuring out things, but he's young... and even as young as he is there are hints there, so many hints and more then just hints of the kind of man he could become. He doesn't need to be made into a man, he just needs to be given an opportunity to grow into his skin, on his own.

I ummm/ ducks.. actually prefer Alistair romance to Kaidan's. (especially since on my canon, I got him to make the first move, took some effort, but it was sooo worth it).

Kaidna is a fantastic character and one of my favorite LI's in bioware games. But Alistair, with his irreverant sence of humor and his "yeeees?" and his awkward straightforwardness... /sighs...

Nothing wrong with preferences, everyone has them. I'm not sure I can pick just one favorite romance across all games. The ones that swept me off my feet in each game hold their own in that particular world. Kaidan is more mature than Alistair, but his world also requires it. If Alistair grew up with aliens and space travel as the norm he would be vastly different, just as Kaidan would be different in a medieval setting. It's apples to orages really. I love them ALL.
:D

Alistair and Kaidan are my top two favourite Bioware romances...I honestly can't choose between, there are strong similiarites, but there are also strong differences, they're both amazing in their own wayPosted Image

Alistair is probably my favourite LI, although it changes between him and Kaidan depending on my mood.  I really wasn't sure I was going to like Alistair at first, but his silly sense of humour won me over straight away, lol.  There was never any doubt that I would love Kaidan, purely because of Sbarge.  His voice had already won me over with Carth, lmao.  I would never have played ME in the first place if my kids hadn't told me that I could 'romance Carth' again because they had the same VA, lol.

And I've been thinking about the word 'steamy'.  Maybe we'll get a shower scene, lolPosted Image

Carth and Kaidan are the top ones for me.
I think that like Jewel, I like a bit more humor/playfulness and likely Carth has a slight edge on Kaidan for me.  I love that playful teasing/fighting/flirting with Carth in KOTOR.

I love that Alistair is sweet and that you can get a little smooch on on the battlefield from him anytime you want.  But the fact that he dumps you so easily is a real turn off for me.  For that reason, I probably prefer Zevran a bit to Alistair.  Yeah, he's a cad at the beginning.  And you really have to work to get him to fall in love with you.  But when you've friended him, he's one of the most loyal characters in the game.  He will follow you even if you dump him.  And when he does fall in love, he's very sweet and stops all of his flirting with the other party members.
I prefer Anders to the DAO men, though.  His passion does it for me.  Posted Image

I loved Anders in Awakenings and was excited when I heard he was a LI in DA2, until he started going on and on and on about mages. I wanted to stab him then and there, lol. I think Carver said it best when he said "I don't hate you because you're a mage, I hate you because you won't shut up about it" or words to that effect.

I'm very meh about the LI choices in DA2. None of them come close to Kaidan, Alistair, or Carth for me.

heh... we're not exactly praying for the same thing here :P

on a different note it never fails to amuse me just how much all of our tastes differ and yet manage to connect at Kaidan.

edited as far as DA2 LI's.. Rivaled Sebastian and friended Isabella are the only 2 I genuinely like.  I ended up romancing Fenris on my first run because I got seduced by the voice and the calm measured way he seemed to aproach everything... but he's almost as bad as Anders.

what I like about Kaidan (among other things) is that no matter what... he doesn't prejudge and he doesn't condemn entire groups ofpeople based on few experiences.

I love Kaidan's line about "jerks and saints"; it's what got me so invested in his character in the first place.

I love that Kaidan actually sees Shepard as a person and doesn't just follow blindly due to hero worship. He has his own morals and sticks to them - "If I didn't think we were doing the right thing I would be here." I like that this was upheld in ME2 and he walked away from Shepard on Horizon because of his morals and sense of duty.

Yeah.
I was attracted to Kaidan by his voice.  But his personality won me over.  He's so even-tempered and reasonable.  So mature.  He has a sense of humor, but its subtle.  And the man has layers.  He's not some 1 dimensional character.  He's so...human.

Yeah.  I love that growth in him.  I hate him walking away.  But my respect for him increased in that he could stand toe to toe with one of the most persuasive, charismatic characters in the galaxy and stick to his morals.  I love that strength in him.

No. :P That would be totally OOC for Kaidan, and I have a real dislike for OOC. Kepp them in character and I'm happy.

I think Kaidan obviously loves Shepard, it isn't a crush were you see no wrong of said person, I liked it that he stood his ground, putting his feelings aside for the mission. You can love someone and see their fault's or see their mistakes etc. A relationship shouldn't be hard but it shouldn't be perfect either.

I know that in one way or another he will trust Shepard again and it will be steammyyyyyyy

Anyone on here going to London Comic-con this week?

I don't like OOC either.

You know, I used to bash Jacob a lot.  Until I did his romance.  And he's one of the only characters in the game that asks how Shepard is handling all this--not because he's worried about the mission, but because he's worried about her as a person.  Yes.  He has cheezy lines.  And yes.  I HATE her voice in the Armory.  But my opinion of Jacob changed when I did the romance.

Oh, I agree. Keep the OOC away from... well, everything if possible.

Yeah, Jacob's romance is surprisingly OK for the exact reason you brought up, Jade.

My experience was the same, and I was shocked as hell when he let my Shep vent WHEN NOBODY ELSE GAVE A CRAP. I'm so glad I listened to Jenova and gave him a go, and I'm really glad I used a single Shep to do it. I felt like he deserved her all to himself. :)

I didn't use a single Shepard.  I used my Renegon character who romanced Kaidan to see the fall out in ME3.  But she's xenophobic and a jerk.  I felt badly for Jacob.  He deserves better than her.

I would like to try the Jacob romance but I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex when listening to THAT level of weird creepy seduction voice. I would like to know his character better but just can't bring my self to do it. Also he looks like Kanye West and his lips move weird and he is all around just odd to talk with, but these are just random observations. And the priiiize thing, I know I would end on the floor laughing to death or have a brain aneurysm.

But he sounds like HE could be overall sweet and Shepard is just a bit . . . off.

Oh, and my vote for favorite Bioware romances are Kaidan, Alistair, and Atton even though he isn't really a romance but I adore him none the less.
