I would like to try the Jacob romance but I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex when listening to THAT level of weird creepy seduction voice. I would like to know his character better but just can't bring my self to do it. Also he looks like Kanye West and his lips move weird and he is all around just odd to talk with, but these are just random observations. And the priiiize thing, I know I would end on the floor laughing to death or have a brain aneurysm.

But he sounds like HE could be overall sweet and Shepard is just a bit . . . off.

Oh, and my vote for favorite Bioware romances are Kaidan, Alistair, and Atton even though he isn't really a romance but I adore him none the less.

Gah, I love those three! I also love Sky from Jade Empire ("My spirit monk", excuse me while I melt like a young girl) and Aarin Gend from Neverwinter Nights, although to a lesser extent after I took a different party member with me and it deleted my romance with him. Huff.

 I might as well throw my favorite Bioware romances in as well. Alistair, Sebastian, Carth, and Kaidan. I like Fenris, Sky, and Thane romances as well, but not as much as those four.

And I love Atton, but he's 1) not really a romance and 2) an Obsidian character, not Bioware. If he were, he'd be my favorite over all the others.

Alistair was my first Bioware love. Then I picked up ME1, and Kaidan came along... I had no interest in playing manShep at all until I met Jack. Annnd I'm a Fengirl all the way. Bioware just knows how to make LIs that I can't help but fall for. I don't think I could pick one as my favorite over any other, because I love them all for different reasons.

I can't say that any of the romonce options for femShep in ME2 appealed to me. Kaidan spoiled me for anyone else in the ME universe, lol. I just found them to be too cheesy and cringeworthy. Don't get me wrong, I like a dose of cheese now and then (as my fics show, lol) but I just couldn't take any of them seriously as LI's for any of my Sheps. I do like Jacob and all of my Shepards are going to spill some drinks on the citadel with him, but 'the priiiiiiize' and Sheps sleazy voice really put me off seeing him as a romance option. I had the same problem with Zev in DAO - he ends up being all of my wardens best friend but he just didn't appeal to me as a LI.

Yeah, I like to think of him as an honourary BioWare character just because... *descends into mad drooling*

Atton is always my favourite, with Kaidan at a very close second (which is funny because that's the order in which I played their respective games).

As of right now, Kaidan is the only BioWare romance that really appeals to me. The ME2 romances didn't appeal to me at all, and the only romance I liked in DA:O was Alistair, who I admit I thought I was going to hate but he did grow on me a bit (not as much as Kaidan did though). I haven't played DA2 yet since Mr. Boyfriend loaned it to one of his friends during the summer and he keeps telling me that I shouldn't play it.

I love the humorous, playful romances the most. One of my favourite romances has be to Alistair in all honesty though. He was adorable, playful, funny and his "have you licked a lampost in winter" discussion sold me <3

But for me I can't compare the romances, especially between Alistair & Kaidan because they are completely different from one another and I love each for their own merit. One of the things I love Kaidan for is dat smirk...

God, every time that smirk shows up on screen I have the dumbest grin on my face for like an hour 'cause it keeps poppin' up in my head.

But I do love that Alistair is so goofy. I fall for that every time. God is he cute! He is so bashful too and I love his dialogues with Wynne.

I loved Anders in Awakenings and was excited when I heard he was a LI in DA2, until he started going on and on and on about mages. I wanted to stab him then and there, lol. I think Carver said it best when he said "I don't hate you because you're a mage, I hate you because you won't shut up about it" or words to that effect.

I'm very meh about the LI choices in DA2. None of them come close to Kaidan, Alistair, or Carth for me.

Heh - I'm currently in Act III of a DA2 runthrough with  male rogue Garrett (kept the default male Hawke face and name). He's with Anders but flatly refused to help him sneak into the Chantry. Anders threw his tantrum and Garrett decided to end the relationship, even to the point of flirting with Zevran during the "Murder of Crows" quest. Funny thing is for end game I'll be offing Anders (thereby keeping Sebastian) but still siding with the mages. The idea of Sebastian in my final team fighting the templars reeks of delicious corruption - I even took him on the "Mark of the Assassin" with mage sister Bethany. Jaw-dropping moment was during a cutscene when Sebastian totally hit on Bethanny. THAT's what I love about BioWare games - always something new to discover on different playthroughs!

No. That would be totally OOC for Kaidan, and I have a real dislike for OOC. Kepp them in character and I'm happy.

You know, I used to bash Jacob a lot.  Until I did his romance.  And he's one of the only characters in the game that asks how Shepard is handling all this--not because he's worried about the mission, but because he's worried about her as a person.  Yes.  He has cheezy lines.  And yes.  I HATE her voice in the Armory.  But my opinion of Jacob changed when I did the romance.

My experience was the same, and I was shocked as hell when he let my Shep vent WHEN NOBODY ELSE GAVE A CRAP. I'm so glad I listened to Jenova and gave him a go, and I'm really glad I used a single Shep to do it. I felt like he deserved her all to himself.

Exactly my feelings (as you know) and I think Kaidan and Jacob share many honourable qualities, not to mention neither of them take kindly to being romantically toyed with and they don't sit back and take it

O_o Jacobmancers? I am tempted to try it though... its a shame only Liara asks out of *everyone* about how Shep is feeling.... good lord, I mean the Commander DIED and was brought back to life to be forced into working with Cerberus!


I just started ME2 last night.... Charlie was on Cloud 9 with Kaidan... then she got killed....

now.... she has no idea where is she... I mean the woman who survived Akuze and spent a HUGE part of ME1 taking down Cerberus.... I swear Nordacrux should get an acheviement for mountain climbing!

Charlie needs Kaidan.... what about her loyalty issues? I'm leading this damn mission, I want my boyfriend back!

haha same! It was that smirk that first made me swoon and love Kaidan actually, and from then on it didn't take very much convincing

And gah Zevran... I loved his romance, his witty remarks, and him not accepting anymore offers to go to the tent after you decline the earing, which made me love him even more! Though I am still sore about his romance bug in DA2...

Mhhh hmm, Kaidan can be top for me anyday.

I guess my favs are Kaidan and Alistair, with everyone else somewhere below them. Love the one you're with, right?

I think Kaidan just barely weaseled past Alistair in the romance department, I love both romances so much. The only thing I dislike about Alistair's is how passive he is, and the circumstances that allow you to be together in the end. Anders would probably be third; he's great when he's not taking about Mages and Templars. Which is... What? 10% of the time?
Never romanced anyone else in DA2 or ME2, and I didn't go through with Zev's romance. I did like Morrigan's, though, while playing as a male character.

I still haven't met Carth yet. KotOR keeps crashing on me when I try to open it, I guess it really doesn't like Windows 7!


So... I have a kind of... odd question. Does Kaidan ever mention if he's a virgin or not in ME1? He doesn't mention any past relationships aside from Ranna (I think I misspelled her name?) and also says he doesn't take relationships lightly. Just my random wonderings.

@Lady He doesn't really mention it per se, but I got the sense he was experienced based on his age etc., but he just didn't sleep around. No sex just to blow off steam, the person had to actually mean something to him. That's my interpretation anyway.

I'm a Kaidan and Alistair girl too ... I'm yet to do any of the romances in ME2 and the ones in DA2 I did just for the sake of doing them but no one really stood out and made me swoon.

@Lady: The night of Ilos he says "It's been a long time since I met a woman who..." which might allude to previous intimate relations.
However, its not stated outright one way or another. Just that he doesn't do those things lightly. So it is possible that he's a virgin. Since its vague, choose the meaning that you like best.

 I like Alistair and Kaidan's romances the best out of BioWare's romances, but I think I like Kaidan more than Alistair.  Kaidan is just... a more relatable character I guess? He's not an heir to a throne or anything like that. He's an LT.



And that's just because I thought it was relevant. Haha.
