Alistair's romance is actually why I was wondering about Kaidan. I assumed not, since he's 33 (right?) in ME1, whereas Alistair is in his early twenties (?).

Well in medieval times he's probably giving Steve Carell a run for his money . Funny though, I actually have a flitier impression from Alister, probably because Kaidan isn't exactly as, um, playful. I imagine if Kaidan and Alistair had swapped places things would be rather different.

Haha same! That part reminded me of Ashleys "make nice with the bug-eyed aliens" comment so when I saw CGI Jiminy Cricket with Kaidans voice all I was thinking was "Looks like Ash was right, guess we shouldn't of made nice with the bug-eyed aliens".

Just my two cents' worth on the Bioware romance thing: For me, it's Carth followed closely by Kaidan. Carth is just... too... damned... perfect... for me. The whole "I'm a soldier, not a warrior" thing is enough to make me swoon. Give me a man who is steadfast and principled, strong *and* strong enough to admit he might need me, every time (though really, who am I to complain if he's also hot?).

I don't think I will ever forgive BW for letting Oblivion maim my headcannon happy ending in KOTOR and then irretrievably shooting it with this new Revan novel. Blargh. *holds hands over eyes and refuses to look at it*

In my headcanon Carth ended up with Revan, Atton ended up with my exile,  Alistair ended up with my warden, and Kaidan will most definitely have a happy ending with my femShep(s), even if I have to write my own fics to accomodate this. I refuse to accept any other outcome, lol.  My Hawkes romanced either Fenris or Seb, but she is really just waiting for Varric.

Bah, so KotOR has no "happy ending"? That seriously demotivated me to keep playing I'm a sucker for happy endings, but only the ones that are earned.
Revan is the PC, right? Isn't she/he dead by the time The Old Republic rolls around?

It's worth playing Kotor just for the Carth romance and the snarky teasing dialogue you can have with him. Not to mention Rafael Sbarge's VA, lol. 

I could be wrong but I thought TOR was set about 400 years after Kotor 1 & 2. Don't take that as gospel though because I really haven't paid any attention to TOR because I generally don't play MMO's.

Oh, it has a happy ending, don't worry.  That happy ending is just trashed at the beginning of KOTOR2....

And yes, if you mean the upcoming MMO, SWTOR takes place about 300 years after the events of KOTOR1/2.

Oh, so nothing you did in KotOR is really relevant to TOR then? That's not a true sequel, Bioware. And I guess I'll avoid KotOR 2 as well, then!

I have lovely brother who stole my game discs out of my house before he left for college, so I am stuck with the character creator. He is also the brother who bought himself a new DS after he lost mine and my Pokemon Black. I am not a happy sister right now. And when I go pick him for Thanksgiving he is going to know it. I am dying of nerdy game withdraw.

Just watched it too.  So help me, when he appeared on-screen I thought he looked like Alton Brown!

I have a question,hopefully one of you can answer. Has Bioware said anything more about the squadmates? like if they will for sure be with you or are they still saying "Playable to some extent" ?

Many sites say different things and I'm not sure what to believe.I want Kaidan in my squad always:wub:

Kaidan and Garrus were my main Squad in ME1.

The only thing that they've said so far is that permanent in terms of squad mates doesn't necessarily mean permanent as it did in ME1 & 2. This leads me to believe that Kaidan will be with us for the majority of the time but may have to go off and do some spectrey thing of his own at some point. Of course I could be totally wrong - it has been known to happen, lol.

Picture checks romance flag, not who dumped who. I got once dumped via loyalty loss by Miranda, and Ashley's picture stood back up.

So very likely that's the case in Jacob dumping PC as well.
