Oh all my sheps were very pissed off but 2 of them forgave him and we are going to have a little chat. The other one just feel in love with someone else. She was called a traitor by the man she loves and here comes along another one who calls her an angel. She can't help but to love him and she wasn't expecting that to happen. The amount of time that passed from Horizion to beginning of ME3 where she will see Kaidan again is a good amount of time. I could never hold a grudge that long in rl and would of had plenty of time to think things over. All I would need to do is have a chat with Kaidan over something that happened what 6 months ago at Horizion?? Was it 6 months? So yea they were all pissed it's just so much time has gone by and the other one feel in love with someone else.
Dunno if Meghan's in love yet with her best friend, per se, but she considers herself dumped. The letter was just cruelty as far as she's concerned. The word "loved" broke her on Horizon.
Anyway, my point was that it wasn't just the "haters" that have an issue with that letter.
Avery saw it as hopeful, Meghan saw it as heartbreaking.
My Sheps have a wide variety of reactions to the letter. Sadie, my canon, is like Sia's Avery (actually they even look alike, IIRC, lol). She's hopeful and doesn't see things as finished between them, but she's also tried to push it to the back of her mind so she can get her job done. My Jennie is the same way.
Delta was just completely boggled by it. She just doesn't do complex feelings like that. Delta (earthborn, sole survivor) only survived this long with her Paragon-ness intact by being able to quickly move past things that hurt her or confuse her. She's an open, direct person who says what she feels, and she tends to have a kneejerk rejection of any personal emotional problem that can't be solved quickly (almost salarian-like, actually). Whether she's actually dealt with her feelings for Kaidan or simply pushed them to some deep, dark place along with her past remains to be seen. Well, not that it ever will be seen; I don't write fanfic or anything.
It just pissed Evie off. Her reaction is probably my favorite, since it's so unreasonable to me as the player. She's just like "WELL SCREW YOU TOO, SHOVE YOUR EMAIL, HNGH HNGH GARRUS COME HERE"

Ladies & Gentlemen, put Kaidan back on top: social.bioware.com/2447367/polls/25721/ Vote!
Voted!
As for The Letter, my Sheps tend to re-read it repeatedly throughout the game, confused but almost reassured at the same time. It's a hopeful letter and given Shep's herpderp on Horizon, it makes the anticipation for restarting the romance in ME3 that much more enticing... except for my 1 Shep that got mad and hooked up with Thane. Yup, she likes that drell.

Wow, you guys have pretty complex bios for your characters! I only have one Shep, and I player her pretty much based off of how I would do things and how I feel. How do you juggle so many characters?
When I got to my 4th Shepard I realized I was having a hard enough time keeping them straight at the moment, there was no way I was going to remember what made each of them tick come March - especially since I really enjoyed making each one completely unique.
So, each of one of my Shepards has a written bio of a couple of paragraphs. It include background choices and how they affected her, general outlook on life and decisions, "personality", and the major game decisions made and why. I also track in a more technical manner (bullet points outside the narrative) the Paragon/Renegade scores and major game game decisions.
It made all the difference

I have a handwritten list of:
Character name
Background/Reputation
class
Paragon/Renegade type
Character traits and attributes and why
Romance(s)
It gets written before a playthrough so I have a sense of who this Shep is and why they do things the way they do. I usually have to read it over as I'm playing as a reminder.

Jade wass hurt by Horizon but could see why Kaidan reacted as he did. She's just hoping that they can fix things. Kaidan snuck in under her guard while she wasn't looking in ME1. MS was pissed off and would have liked to knock im out and carry him to the Normandy. She'll get the job done, then they'll have words to clear the air and then she'll expect things to go back to normal between them. She's MS after all, how can he resist her for long? lmao

Word documents. And maybe an Excel spreadsheet. >_>
As for how I can actually play so many Shepards, I only make new ones when ideas pop into my head like "Hey, it'd be cool to have a Shepard who had this happen to her, or who thinks like this, etc." I know a lot of people feel limited by the role-playing options for characters like Shepard or Hawke from DA2, but it just inspires me to think of different ways they reached that point. If that makes any sense at all.

I don't think I'll ever create another Shep, or Hawke, or Warden. Even though I've played each game numerous times, it's always with the same character (which reminds me, I really wish we could save pre-set looks so I didn't have to recreate each character every time!). I don't know why I do that, I just...do. I guess I put a little bit of myself into each of the three, and fall in love with them that way.

This chat... it is almost a full-time job to keep up lol. I saw an interesting debate a while back but I will leave it buried.
And there are a lot of interesting pictures of Kaidan.
And how is everybody 8). Ready for March yet?! Be damned to wish for time away but I want ME3 now ha

Sbarge's agent(?) Jacqui (I still don't think I spelled that right!) agreed to have him read out loud the "About Horizon" email if we donate a total of $1000 to his charity. He's also doing frequent audioblogs and answering questions.
It's meonlyred's birthday!
A few of us (led by Casey Shepard) have decided to make Sbarge a Kaidan-Thank You poster, including fanart, fanfics, trinkets, quotes, etc, and send it to him as a sort of, "You're just that awesome!" tribute. There's a group to join if you're interested and want more info!
Aside from that... Hmm...

Depends on the Shep, and what I want out of it ultimately. Some playthroughs are meta-gamed, some are purely for the "why not try this?" aspect (that's how Kyja became Frankenberry Shep). Specifically, I personally couldn't imagine doing the Renegade options half the time, but it's fun to roleplay that deep, dark side. However, for my canon Shep Vyan, and canon renegade Lister (manShep) I have some backstory.
As for the letter, Vyan was saddened by it, because deep down she knows Kaidan was right about a number of things on Horizon. Kaidan stating that her staying with Cerberus was because they brought her back deeply resonated - she does have some survivor's guilt from Aukze, and dying-guilt? with Cerberus. Vy would never stay with Cerberus of her own accord, and I plot-spackle it by saying she wants to take them down from the inside. She also wouldn't contact him because of Cerberus bugs and spying, hence the indirectness (asking Anderson & Joker).
She's also quite miffed at Liara for not making any files on Kaidan available. What good is being the Shadow Broker's buddy if you can't get the info you want?

Oh good. I thought I'd missed it. I saw the tpoic earlier today but didn't have time to respond. So then the reading will really happen? Because I will definitely donate some money to hear that, especially if it's a good cause.

Toad-licker Shepard? Hmmm, has a nice ring to it.
Oh and before I forget - Happy Bday meonlyred! I like it when Kaidanites have birthdays because then the thread is totally spammed with smexy Kaidan. Ahh, good times.
Edit: Only 1 Kaidan on this page??? This must be remedied!!!

Green Wish is a grassroots, non-profit charitable organization that is
focused on helping local green organizations fund projects for their
communities through small donations at local retailers (in $1, $3 and $5
dollar denominations) and online in "pay what you can" denominations.
All organizations are vetted by the board and alternate, leaving room for other groups to participate. Our mission is to collect money for smaller local groups that are very deserving and in much need of support.
We are currenly in Los Angeles and will be expanding to other cities around the country. Once each city is identified, Green Wish will then identify nine local groups in that city to fund.
So they seem to be an eco-friendly group. I haven't had time to read up on them yet tonight (midterms tomorrow morning <_<) but it certainly seems a worthy cause to donate to!
Edit: Birthdays certainly do seem fun around here! Too bad we don't have some sort of Kaidanite Birthday Database so we know the dates to spead the Kaidan picture love

Don't feel bad, so do I. I also have Paragon Sheploo and Renegon Sheploo, but nothing extremely detailed, just who they save on Virmire and who they romance.
Been playing my Paragon Sheploo today, who's trying to romance Samara, but hasn't hit the flag yet I guess, and talks to Mordin ALL the time, so I've gotten the "romance medical talk" already, and he was like "Sorry Shepard, not interested."
Edit: ToP, always ToP...
