L'Etoile, I believe, phrased it as "later that year" in one of his infodumps. Not that that really helps.

However, I thought that one of our resident nursing types with the human bio info suggested that if he were later along in development when he were exposed, there would be less chances of fatal mutation? ... or am I getting that confused?

I dunno.  I thought it was the other way around.

I think the younger underdeveloped fetus would be more likely to adapt and the older one, more likely to reject... hense Cancer.  So I think Sia is right, the other way around is more likely.

On the other hand... made up element, made up concequences.

Yeah, anybody's guess.

More emotional/passionate than previous ME games.

I was scared to click lol. Sound good though :)

Ok, only had to catch up 2 1/2 pages but boy howdy, talk about information overload!

Regarding horoscopes, I used to be into Astrology and Tarot during the New Age era of the early 1990's. From what I remember, the sun sign (the sign you were born under) only gives a little bit of your overall personality. The other planets play an important role in your individualism. While someone may be born under one sign, he or she may have characteristics of another sign if enough planets are in that second sign. Also, your personality is also influenced by what is known as your Ascendant - that is, the sign that was on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. That is why the exact time and place of your birth is so important to an astrologer; they are basically creating a map of every planet's location the second you were born. There are plenty of free sites on the web that can cast your natal (birth chart) so you can get the most accurate info regarding your horoscope.

As for ClaraShepard's choice of which Kaiden to use for the gift projects - I likewise vote for the top one. :)

And as for the donation link for Mr. Sbarge to read the Horizon letter, I'm guessing that is still in the set-up stage?

Ok, I think I'm caught up for now. *whew!*

Yeah, that's the thing I've been waiting for today.  Hopefully Jacqui will come back soon and give us more info, so we can spread the news.

That's what I thought I thought, but I remember I was wrong, which is why I now remember it as that we concluded the opposite.  That is: the younger the zygote, anything can trigger unhappy mutations which can mess up cellular development.  (I believe we imagined eezo = radiation for a real life parallel.)

Of course, it could be some kind of middle ground: too early, cancer and/or rejection of the zygote; too late, no effect; perfect timing, biotics.

... that might explain the spread of 10% biotics, 30%(?) permanent birth defects, 60% no effect, come to think of it.

(pfff.  eye kan maths gud.)

I was thinking that maybe there's more involved with Sbarge reading the Horizon letter as Kaidan for the fans than meets the eye. I mean, it's BioWare's property - the writing. And it's the actual actor who voices Kaidan that would be reading it outside of BioWare's sphere. Maybe there are permissions that have to be obtained before it can happen. Things that sound easy at first often tend to be a huge pain the backside when you dig in.

Of course, this is pure speculation on my part. Feel free to shout me down.

(after all, I did have the Kaidan-hugs-all-male-Sheps-on-Horizon thing wrong)

Edited for a typo ;P

Well, he's not profiting from it. But you're right. There could be legal issues involved.

I thought that there might be a problem with it as well. But then I thought, Jennifer Hale goes around saying quotes and stuff that Shepard says. Is that the same thing or am I completely wrong?

I don't think it's quite the same thing, since she actually said those lines? But the letter is written?

(Which I really don't get. I mean, dammit, we get a bloody HOLOGRAM from Hackett for crying out loud. /rant)

I joined Twitter last year to support Kaidan and immediately forgot about my account.  Then when Jacqui started interacting with the fans through that medium, I posted my first tweet.  So you're not alone in your n00bdom.

@Clara Shepard - I like the top photo.

I made one about a year ago, posted one thing, then exactly a year later when I went to follow Bioware people I realized I had four followers (Why random people, why?). Twitter is a scary place. But I have the goal of amassing a large-ish following just because I can . . .

Oh and I am now following you too!

Completely off-topic, but having followers on Twitter starts bringing to mind a massive digital zombie army.

I think I've played Eden Prime too often.

Soothing? Nah, I'm a Sagittarius, we live for adventure! :wizard:

Yeah, I don't think Kaidan's a Sagittarius. Just a guess. I'm tempted to go off and read Astrology Sign bios to see if I can find a few to fit Kaidan.

Me too :D I don't think he is Sagittarius either..... Sag guys are a lot of fun and can be flippant sexually, like Sag women.. it just doesn't *fit*
He could be Scorpio, they are passionate, intense and loyal with a slight tendancy to take things seriously....

Well, now this is just getting ridiculous. All three of us are wild and crazy lefties, and we are also all Sagittarius? My birthday is December 2nd, just in case you guys want to start planning the party now. :D

@Sialater My hubby is supposedly Taurus (it sounds nothing like him) and we aren't supposed to be "compatible" but we've been happily married for 17 years. :P I take the whole "my sign" thing with a grain of salt.

That's awesomely coincidental

Anyways, I don't get it. The writers said that they're adding more humor into ME3, yet Kaidan has less humor? Is Garrus going to become a stand-up comedian now, and that'll take the place of humor-lacking squad mates?
So, a Turian, Elcor, and Hanar walk into a bar-

And Zaeed was the only one to make it out alive.

Also, there will be Ewoks.  ^_^

It's a trap!

Edit: Watching the video with Casey answering Twitter questions from the week. He addressed the "No one's permanent" aspect for squad mates in a way that makes me think, as long as we don't mess anything up, we'll be keeping Kaidan with us throughout most of the game  I'm relieved.

I suspect it depends on who you are speaking to whether they would describe Mass Effect 3 as more humorous or more serious. I mean, I doubt anyone will be constantly cracking one-liners while fighting reapers, but I'm sure there will be some bits of humor sprinkled here and there as that would be smart from a writing point of view.

For me, it doesn't matter if there is much humor or not. For Shepard to be away from evil Cerberus will make the game a happy prospect for me over ME2....plus, there's having Kaidan back. He could talk about omni-tool specs and it would still make me giddy. :D

I really hope he says "Down you go" in battle, lmao

I wonder whether Rafael has ever played ME or whether it would feel too weird to him when Kaidan started talking.

edit : for top of page and because I felt like giving myself a triple treat
