What have you done to me!?!?!? I used to be so good, lol. Ha, I am actually the same age as you. But I skipped 3 grades in high school and am in my second year of college (long story). I actually passed up my brother in school (ha, ha[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie])

I was never the boy crazy type but I chalk that up to having two older brothers (the way they behave though I am the oldest, I actually took my brother to the doctor on several occasions and I taught them to do laundry) and having to spend time with all thier friends growing up. Out of my childhood circle of friends, two of us were girls out of like 16 kids. We learned mud is fun, you don't cry (emotions are for the weak when in ravenous packs of boys), and boys are annoying as all hell. So they never seemed too charming to me for I knew what lay just beneath the surface (I am talking to you kid who thought it would be fun to put me in head lock while I was trying to eat soup).

But I did grow up (oh, rats) and they were not as awful to me. So when Kaidan and his magical voice showed up and he wasn't whinning or asking me to feed him he won me over immediately.

God, you young ladies make me feel like a relic from the stone age. :pinched:

That's fine, I'll still be playing BioWare games in the retirement home and raising hell.

My sons talked me into playing ME1. They'd been trying for ages to get me to give up playing Kotor 1 &2 and play, and I kept resisting until they said the magic words "you can romance Carth". The minute I heard his voice I knew that if Kaidan was a romance that he was the romance for me. My fate was sealed when he gave the half smile in the medbay. I just really loved the character from my first playthrough and it was nice to have someone that didn't need fixing in some way. First playthrough was as a soldier because the boys told me that would be the easiest for me, but after seeing biotics in action I had to give them a try and now only ever play as an adept or sentinel.

You and me both, lol.  My remaining son is 18 so I'm old enough to be the mother of some of the 'kids' around here.  But at least they show good tasteImage IPB

I initially picked up ME1 shortly after its PC release, because I do love space operas and had a budding love of RPGs.  But for some reason it didn't really grab me (I was probably embroiled in some MMO or other), and I quit playing after the Spectre induction (of course now I absolutely love that moment, how did I ever quit then...).

Early this year I saw a promo for ME3.  And I do sooo love space operas.  So I picked up ME2 for cheap and played it.  I sucked, I did like half the loyalty missions, lost 1/3 of the crew on the SM...but the ending sequence, with the dramatic speeches and the stirring music, had moved me.  So I loaded up ME1 again, and, well, that was the end of me.  I've had a playthrough of ME1-ME2 going pretty much ever since.

Several pieces of N7 merchandise, roughly 1200 screenshots, 98 DA deviations, 4 fanfics, and 5 Shepards later, here I am.  Waiting for March.

::taps foot impatiently::

Oh stop that. Age is but a number. And youngness is all relative. ;)
You and Jenova are my inspirations!
Us young'ns can only hope to become the fantastic ladies and mothers you are when we're your age.

I fully plan on destroying any gran-kids I may have in any and all games when I am older. I will the grandma who makes super delicious food and yells ridiculous things at my gran-kids for things they do in games.

Edit: I think age is more limited by how a person sees themselves, than in comparison to others. There will always be people older and younger than you.

And at least you can see well enough to play games and you don't have scream 'WHAT?' everytime someone trys to talk to you.

I'm still not guy crazy, and at this rate, probably won't ever be :P Only a select few have won my heart (those being Alistair, Kaidan, and Aragorn from LotR) but I'm pretty sure that's due to all the guys around here being idiots. Still, I can watch a movie with a group of girls who'll all end up oogling over Neil Patrick Harris, and I'll be sitting there wondering what the big deal is. (Seriously, is he that attractive? I think I was born with some sort of defect to not see that).

I think real life needs more Kaidans and Alistairs :wizard:

Edit: Sesheta, Bekkael, Jenova, you guys are just awesome, age doesn't matter  I'd much rather talk to the folks around here of all ages than some sort of 1337 community of teens and mid-twenties people only. Plus, it's not like we're viewed any differently for our ages ^_^ (right?) If anything, being older than me just makes me slightly scared of you all.

Boys will get better.  Eventually.  A little ;).  And if you're lucky, eventually you will stumble upon one that is worth it.  Then if you're really lucky, after that you will still get to ogle the virtual ones :wizard:.

Yes to that ^^ Actual guys I meet make me want to punch them in the face. I did hit a kid with a pool que once though cause he was swearing around kids to 'show off' (only in the shin and not hard but enough that he stopped). I gave him a warning he just chose to ignore it. I am conent to wait until someone comes along I don't want to assault.

I think that there was someone else in this thread who was in some sort of odd HS, college, limbo, technicality thing as well. And my situation was the most convoluted thing ever up until this summer (yay for malfuctioning organs).

And honestly in this thread until some states it, either directly or indirectly, I cannot tell how old anyone is around here.

I would've guessed everyone in here to be at least 30 if ages hadn't been mentioned.

@ Graceryn: Haha, then there's something to look forward to later in life! Until then, it's Kaidan oogling for me.

Holy Shifty Cow, page 494 already? Didn't we just hit 400 10 days ago? How long until we catch up to the Miranda thread?
Joking, of course, that one's nearing 800 pages, isn't it?

Edit: Okay, 17 pages ago. Does Casey still think no one likes Kaidan?

That's wisdom right there. I met my Alistair-Kaidan-Mr. Wonderful when I wasn't even looking for him. And he doesn't mind any of my obsessions and quirks. <3 He even likes to watch me play. Did I mention he also does all the cooking? B) :P

Seconded. <3 Boys do get better, usually. Most of them.
I met my husband on a music message board, and we chatted there for a few years before we started talking via AIM. He was a gamer, and I recommended KOTOR to him. When he realized what a great game it was, he knew he couldn't let me get away. :P That's what he says, anyway.

And he's totally okay with my Kaidan ogling. These mythical men do exist, I promise.

I have to say, when I was in my 20's, the thought of being 30-plus was rather scary, but I've really enjoyed my 30's. It just keeps getting better and better. :D

I love that Kaidan is already in his 30's when Shep first meets him too. Age really is just a number, but still..I liked it.

First, thanks, Jilinna for the kind words about my R&R fic. And I'm really glad that you enjoy my goofy singing chapter. :D

No problem! ^_^  I love this fic & your Shep & Kaidan are so adorable! & the singing chapter was one of my favorites mostly because I am a huge music junkie and student that has a love for that type of music the two were singing to each other. So I when I was reading it I had a huge smile on my face, got all excited, and started singing along.

Btw will there be any new chapters coming soon? Your last chapter was sooo adorable and aww worthy! That I have been dying to see your Shep's reaction in the next chapter! :D

Oh & about the Kaidan's birthday topic from earlier, I don't mind asking the developers on twitter, prehaps they would answer? :P

Oh & of course anyone on here is welcome to follow my twitter account, I only use it so far to follow mostly all things bioware & ask questions to the devs. :P

I decided to be your first follower! And unlike others I won't unfollow you because you didn't follow me back. People on twitter can be so weird. Why would follow someone follow a person at all if you're just going to stop like one day later? Maybe I just don't get it or everyone else just doesn't get logic. Probably the second one . . .
