I'm late to the discussion, but I'm 26, and I don't think I can really call myself a gamer. I a huge scifi geek, however. HUGE. I played Star Wars games in my early teens when the special edition versions of ANH, ESB and RotJ came out. I played a little Diablo, but never finished the game. My husband is a big gamer. The XBOX is his and I don't think he can live without it. We found ME in 2008 while looking for a game to play together. The hubs had read about it on IGN and we rented it at the video store. I was hooked immediately. I loved the space opera, and the fact that I could choose my own story. Kaidan is "my type" (tall, dark and handsome), so I fell immediately.  When ME2 came out, I had trouble adapting to the new controls (like I said, not that much of a gamer usually), so I pouted for a year! I picked it up again after we lost our saved games so I did a new ME runthrough. I'm hooked again, and not-so-patiently waiting for ME3... My husband thinks it's hilarious that I know all the spoilers. He wants to stay spoiler-free. Since our original goal was to find a game to play together, I'm hoping the new multi-player mode will have a split-screen local co-op mode. Otherwise, my husband will play... with his brother.  I'll have nobody to play with.

And thanks, Soren, for posting the new audioblog link. While I've been interested in ME3 since they announced it, after hearing these blogs and the new snippets of info, I'm absolutely craving me some Kaidan. Why isn't is March already???

Wow! 500 pages..congrats! Woot!. Just listned to Sbarge audio blog. How cool it is that he takes a few moments to indulge fans like that. Oh, and his voice--Swoon. For real. I could sit up and talk to him on the phone for hours. He has one of those telephone voices that even when all he's saying is "uuhhh", you just grin from ear to ear.

Oh God, I don't wanna be the creepy fangirl.

Anyway, thought I'd check in here. Been awhile. And yes, Isaac, I noticed the dropping of Female in the Shepard references. Nice.

Don't worry xD I think I passed that mark a long time ago... I melt into a puddle everytime he says anything  he has that effect on women.  If I was 30 years older I would be trying to hit on him  but alas he is too old for me...  and see, I'm the worse fan   At least I'm not hitting on him?  I should go.

Ha ha, speaking of weird fans and our project . . . I have started my drawing for our project and, I thought at least, it would be fun to draw a group of Kaidan fans and jokes in our community instead of just drawing Kaidan (besides I am sure to screw him up). It is going to look like one big mob of people. I actually have the 'he could read a shopping list' joke in there already. My goal is that no matter where you glance, there is some sort of subtle joke pertaining to Kaidan or his loyal group of devotees.

I know I am super late with this but I read how everyone else started there Kaidan love. so I will tell mine as well.

One day my boyfriend (husband to be next week, Yay) told me to watch him play Mass Effect for a sec, and asked me if I knew who Joker was, so I said I did. Blah blah boring shooter ( i was insane).

I played A LOT of WoW. but one day i was bored. so I decided not to raid and played Kotor instead and of course loved Carth and after I finished I played it again. So I asked my boyfriend what I should play and he suggested Mass Effect, so I started it and hated it completely totally hated it. So I, in my craziness, went back to WoW then a few of my friends started playing again, So I ,being the kind person I am, let them take my place raiding, So I tried Mass Effect again and loved it and I loved Kaidan, but i left him on Virmire (idiot I know). My boyfriend made me feel so bad about it. I couldn't sleep at all that night and had to get up and replay Virmire so that I could save Kaidan and that is how my love began and now continues.

The story (and Kaidan, lol) sucked me in on the first playthrough but I can't say I was excited by it until my second playthrough where I decided to try out a biotic Shepard (adept). I was hooked totally after that, lol.

FWIW, I partially agree.......... but I still don't get hating another character for having that voice, if that was the case, I would never be able to watch Sam Rockwell in anything after Green Mile, but I love him  sooooo..

That's okay.  That's what first drew me to Kaidan as well.  The difference is this:  If you only like Kaidan because he has Carth's voice, then its no different than hating Kaidan because he has Carth's voice.  I bet you don't at this point.  I bet you now (like me) appreciate Kaidan because of the wonderful character that he is with his maturity, subtle sense of humor, intelligence and incredible amount of depth and layers.  The kindergamers still hate Kaidan because he sounds like Carth.  They never looked past it to see the "person."  Its a big difference.

Like 5 pages back I read some people write down all their Shep and choices. Kinda develop who their character is. That is such a good idea cause I have up to 5 shep's and by the time ME3 rolls around I'm afraid I will forget lol!! I really haven't sat down like some of you have and wrote about my Sheps. Just wanted to point out that I thought that was such a good idea.

Anyhoo....must go to bed ugh-_-

agreed, I pretty much keep that list to have an overview over the things I plan to prepare before ME3 to have a nice set of different things to choose from.
After testing the waters in ME3 I'm sure I'll make some complete playthroughs going from ME1 - ME3 *squeeks with anticipation*

the bad part is, the next Shepard on my list is the version of a rather generic pure Renegade, who's going to romance Liara and kill Kaidan and Wrex on Virmire
among other people, there's also:
Chorban? dead! Fisk? dead (I'll do it myself, thanks for your money Wrex *harhar*)! Blake? dead! Anoleus & Parasini? dead! Rachni? Extinct again! and so on and so forth
most likely the suicide mission in ME2 will be true to it's name for this guy ... I'll make this the biggest jerk possible

I need a few paragon points for the freeby charm so I can get full charm points without spending any skill points on it ... so he's also helping colonists on Feros ... too bad he can't take chances with infected people

aside from that I'll save Kaidan in most playthroughs
