I was under the impression it was Ash in the pic being all heroic and not femShep because of the phoenix armour. But Drinking Shepard is right, it doesn't show Kaidan in a good light.

I know. It's a gender role issue they're picking up on. Kaidan being in a role lesser than a female, appearing in a position typical reserved for a woman, and they think it takes away from his masculinity. 

I had someone tell me once that Kaidan wasn't very masculine because femShep told him to get into the escape pod and he didn't take charge of the situation to save her.

It's really all very silly.

Because it does take away from his masculinity, hunnee. Just like those amazingly stupid pics of Kaidan in a wedding dress. It wasn't fun, it was just stupid.

Criz in her pics doesn't get too serious too, but her works are fun. They're cute and lovely.

the poster itself is a parody. a parody of those 80ties movie posters. the girl in the original movie is NOT a wuss. they were making fun of the posters and gender roles with their poster. its actually even more apt becasue there are people who think that Kaidan is a wuss and it makes fun of that opinion.

pretty sure if Kaidan himself was real, he would chuckle at it, becasue he would know that its just a parody and has nothing to do with his actual masculinity or questioning it.

its like saying that pictures of Tim Curry and Mark Meer in Drag somehow make them less masculine. THAT is silly.

I really can't tell if you're being serious or not.

You've just taken an awesome picture made by an ME fan, shown by an ME fan because she likes it, and extrapolated something out of it.

Army of Darkness stars Ashley Williams, and her boomstick line on Virmire is a direct homage to that.  Hence, why she is in the starring role. And it's a nice change of pace too.

And if you still think Kaidan is being emasculated here: people showing 'weakness' of any gender is degrading to them.  It shows they're human. And if Kaidan is anything, he's that.

It doesn't take away from his masculinity at all. He is masculine by default of being male. If anything it's really making fun of what is expected of the female gender, because when a male is put into that role it's suddenly extremely silly.
